Chapter 287: How Joyful It Is
Everyone looked toward An Yinan, some not understanding why An Yinan was kept behind by the teacher alone on the first day.
However, no one gossiped, as they were not familiar with each other yet.
Only Jiang Yun Duo asked worriedly, "Should I wait for you?"
An Yinan shook her head, "No need, help me bring two steamed buns back to the dormitory."
She had eaten lunch very early and couldn't eat anything now, but fearing she would be hungry at night, she simply had Jiang Yun Duo bring the food back in advance.
"Alright, I'll bring them for you," Jiang Yun Duo agreed.
After Jiang Yun Duo left, An Yinan packed up her pen and notebook and walked to the podium.
"Teacher Liu, what did you want to see me for?" An Yinan asked.
Liu Jianguo said directly, "There is a freshman welcome party tomorrow night. You are the freshman representative and need to go on stage to speak. You need to prepare the speech draft yourself. If there is anything you need my help with, you can come to the office to find me."
An Yinan nodded, "Teacher, I understand."
"There's nothing else, go to the canteen early," Liu Jianguo said.
"Goodbye, Teacher."
An Yinan left holding her notebook and went straight back to the dormitory. She had been thinking about being more well-behaved lately; if she proposed to be a day student to her Tutor later, it shouldn't be too difficult, right?
After she returned to the dormitory, Zhang Jia and Liu Er Ya were already there. There weren't many people in their majors, and the classrooms were closer to the dormitory, so they had returned early instead.
"An Yinan is back. I forgot to ask, what is your major?" Zhang Jia asked hurriedly as she ate and saw An Yinan enter the door.
"Economics," An Yinan replied.
"Sigh, I didn't see anyone I knew in the classroom, so I knew we weren't in the same major," Zhang Jia said disappointedly.
Liu Er Ya didn't speak; she held a black-flour pancake in her hand, taking a sip of water and then a bite of the pancake.
An Yinan picked up Jiang Yun Duo's and her own thermos flasks and went straight to the water room to get water. Most people had gone to the canteen, so there were very few people getting water now.
After she arrived at the water room, she didn't have to wait long before she finished filling the hot water. Carrying one flask in each hand, she went straight back to the dormitory.
"Nan Nan, I bought you a meat bun and a vegetable bun, is that okay?" Jiang Yun Duo asked.
An Yinan nodded, "That's fine, how much is it? I'll pay you."
Jiang Yun Duo waved her hands hurriedly, "No need, no need."
An Yinan took a salted duck egg out of her bag and handed it directly to Jiang Yun Duo, "My family was worried I wouldn't eat well, so they boiled some salted duck eggs. Try one."
Jiang Yun Duo took it with a blushing face, "Thank you."
An Yinan looked at her with some amusement, "You bought me buns, and I haven't thanked you yet."
"You're welcome," Jiang Yun Duo said quickly.
An Yinan shrugged her shoulders and then said to her, "I filled the thermos with hot water for you, and I poured the previous water into the basin, you can use it in a while."
Jiang Yun Duo thanked her again, which made An Yinan feel a bit helpless.
Jiang Yun Duo was a little socially anxious; she was completely different from when she was with her parents.
An Yinan ate one bun first, but she really couldn't eat any more, so she put the buns on the bed. Once she got on the bed and pulled the curtains, she could just throw them into her space.
She took her books onto the bed, sat down, and thought about what to write for the freshman speech, carefully deliberating every word and sentence.
Just as An Yinan was about to finish her freshman speech draft, there was a sudden knock on the door.
"I'll open it," Zhang Jia said, then skipped over.
After Zhang Jia opened the door, she saw a familiar person and two strangers.
"Li Xiue, are you looking for me?" Zhang Jia was a bit surprised. One had to know that today was only the first day they met, and everyone couldn't be considered familiar. Besides, she had only spoken a few words to Li Xiue; it shouldn't be enough for her to come to the dormitory to find her, right?
Li Xiue smiled gently and said to Zhang Jia, "We are looking for An Yinan!"
Hearing the familiar name, An Yinan hurriedly put down the speech draft in her hand and pulled open the bed curtain.
Then she heard the familiar voice, still as gentle and indifferent as ever, not fighting or competing, with a sense of being aloof from the world.
"Ah? Looking for An Yinan?" Zhang Jia widened her eyes and looked at An Yinan, who was getting off the bed.
An Yinan walked to the door, her little nose wrinkling, "Xiue."
She walked straight up and hugged Li Xiue. Li Xiue patted her head with amusement, "Alright, we can see each other often from now on."
An Yinan hugged Zhao Qiu Hua again, "Qiu Hua."
"Acting spoiled won't work either. You didn't look for us after coming to school. If Xiue hadn't happened to be in the same class as your roommate, it would have been so much trouble for us to find you," Zhao Qiu Hua complained, but her eyes were shining brightly, showing that her mood was very beautiful at the sight of her friends.
"Yuanyuan." An Yinan saw Xie Yuanyuan. After not seeing her for many days, the little girl seemed to have gained a little weight again. Her little face was still round, with undisguised innocence and excitement.
"Nan Nan, I missed you so much. I've lost weight, all because I missed you," Xie Yuanyuan pouted and complained tearfully.
An Yinan curled her lips and then pinched her little round face, "Oh my, my Yuanyuan really has lost weight, my heart aches for you."
Li Xiue and Zhao Qiu Hua looked at each other and shook their heads helplessly; these two little treasures!!!!
"Right, there's still time today, I'll take you all out for a stroll," An Yinan said.
"That's good, I happen to have things to tell you," Li Xiue nodded.
An Yinan returned to the dormitory, put on a cotton-padded jacket, and said to Jiang Yun Duo, "I'll be back later."
Jiang Yun Duo nodded with a flushed little face, "Okay."
Only then did An Yinan take her friends and leave the dormitory to find a space that belonged to them sisters.
To maintain a sense of mystery, no one had mentioned their majors at the time.
Although An Yinan had given everyone suitable majors, she didn't know what these people had ultimately chosen.
Meeting again, there was still no gap between everyone; instead, they felt their bond growing stronger.
"The school gate won't be locked today. I'll take you to my courtyard to sit for a while, we can talk there," An Yinan said.
Zhao Qiu Hua suddenly called out, "Wait."
"Your courtyard?" she asked in surprise.
An Yinan smiled and nodded, "That's right, the courtyard I bought. It will be our Base from now on. There are enough rooms; if you all don't want to live at school, you can go there anytime."
When she bought the courtyard back then, she had already thought about letting her friends move in together; there were enough rooms for each of them to have one.
"How are house prices now?" Zhao Qiu Hua asked.
Zhao Qiu Hua was very sensitive to numbers, and her science major had been excellent before; all the science tutoring was done by Qiu Hua.
"My courtyard is well-preserved and not too big, one thousand yuan." An Yinan naturally did not hide anything from her companions.
"Future house prices?" Zhao Qiu Hua looked at An Yinan.
An Yinan nodded firmly.
Seeing Nan Nan's response, Zhao Qiu Hua had already begun to make plans in her heart.
Li Xiue understood, but her circumstances were not good, especially after her brother got married; returning home this time, she felt more like an outsider.
