Chapter 301: Sister Li Xiu'e, can you stand this?

~7 min read 1,362 words

An Yinan smiled, "Thank you, Principal."

The Principal looked at An Yinan, "You don't need to thank any of us; use your future to repay us old bones!"

An Yinan nodded. This time she didn't speak, merely moved by the selflessness of these elders.

An Yinan left, and on the way, she thought about a lot.

She wondered, was it really right for her to major in Economics?

She knew how much the country needed scientific research personnel, but could she really do it?

She walked into the classroom and looked at her classmates studying diligently; everyone's gaze was firm, their expressions focused.

Economics! She would accumulate immense wealth to provide scientific researchers with sufficient research funding; how could that be wrong?

"Right!" An Yinan's expression was excited; she had found her goal.

Before, she wanted to study Economics because she wanted to make money.

But she always felt something was missing; now she knew the fundamental goal of her earning money.

"Nan Nan, here. Teacher Liu has something to do, so let us read on our own." Jiang Yun Duo had saved a seat for An Yinan.

An Yinan smiled at her, then threw herself heart and soul into the textbook.

She had set her goal, and she was full of anticipation for her future studies.

When everyone returned to the dormitory, Zhao Chunzhi's bed had already been cleared away.

"What's going on?" Zhou Ruoran asked in surprise.

Jiang Yun Duo thought for a moment and said, "During the break, Zhao Chunzhi was called out, and she didn't come back afterward. We don't know either."

An Yinan had a guess in her heart; it was the Principal who had taken action.

But she smiled and said with an indifferent air, "She probably couldn't stay in the dormitory. She hasn't been coming back to sleep much these past few days; she must have asked the teacher to change dorms."

"Probably!" Zhang Jia nodded in agreement.

Seeing her roommates accept this, An Yinan hid her merit and fame deep within.

On Sunday, the freshmen of Beijing University had a day off.

Yun Shu had long been waiting for An Yinan outside the school, but An Yinan wouldn't let her drive.

She had promised the old man that she could not attract attention from that side.

The brand of car she used was unknown to ordinary people, but anyone with status who checked would find the Compilation Bureau, and the people behind the Liu family were, after all, not ordinary people; she simply needed to keep a low profile these days.

Yun Shu didn't talk much on weekdays; these days she was either training in the Military or protecting An Yinan.

"Leader, the Chief asked when you are going home," Yun Shu said.

Seeing Yun Shu's rigid, by-the-book manner, An Yinan didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Did something happen?" An Yinan asked.

"Nothing, the Chief just asked. Yun Mo and I both returned to the Military for intensive training and didn't go back to the Yun Family," Yun Shu replied.

An Yinan nodded. Then it was likely that nothing was wrong at home; either Big Aunt missed her, or Grandmother was fretting, making it impossible for Big Uncle to hold out, which was why he had to send Yun Shu to ask.

It must be said that An Yinan had hit the nail on the head.

Ever since An Yinan started school, Liu Jiumu would call An Yinan's name every day, and only after getting no response would she remember that the girl had gone to school.

Every time Grandmother finished practicing the Eight Brocades, she would sigh, "If only Nan Nan were here to keep me company; she used to always be with me."

The house was full of her presence, and now that she had left, everyone was a bit unaccustomed to it.

Arriving at the Xiao Yuan, she saw the lock on the gate was already open, so An Yinan knocked on the door.

"Nan Nan, come in." Li Xiue opened the door, and upon seeing An Yinan and Yun Shu, she hurriedly invited them in.

An Yinan walked into the courtyard and heard the sounds of bustling activity on the stove.

Zhao Qiu Hua had already started stir-frying, "This coal stove is still not as easy to use as a big pot."

"Yeah, you don't even need to add firewood; I don't know what to do," Xie Yuanyuan said, resting her chin in her hands, looking at the jumping red flames in the stove with a bitter, resentful expression.

"Then why don't you go wash the rapeseed?" Zhao Qiu Hua stretched out her foot and lightly kicked the little girl's bottom.

Seeing this, Xie Shuyang hurriedly blocked it, "Qiu Hua, I'll wash it right now."

Zhao Qiu Hua saw this and thought, forget it, I'd better not meddle in other people's business.

As soon as An Yinan walked in, she saw such a good show; truly, people have their own destinies.

Qian Zhao brought over the seasonings, "Qiu Hua, should I add this?"

An Yinan looked at Li Xiue's gentle smile, and she even suspected that this smile was Li Xiu'e's protective coloration.

"Li Xiu'e, can you stand this?"

Li Xiue looked at An Yinan and smiled, "They are very happy, and I am happy for them."

"My person hasn't appeared yet, but I have always believed."

She had seen the relationship between An Yinan and Chen Xun, a relationship that could withstand life and death.

She had seen Xie Yuanyuan and Xie Shuyang, a childhood sweetheart relationship.

She had seen Zhao Qiu Hua and Qian Zhao, a relationship of working together.

And she, in the end, would have a relationship of her own, clean and thorough, yet one that would allow her to commit herself heart and soul.

An Yinan looked at Li Xiue and smiled softly, "You will."

Li Xiu'e was so wonderful; there would be someone who would love her and cherish her with all his heart.

"What are you two talking about? Come and serve the dishes." Zhao Qiu Hua looked up and saw the two people whispering.

"Coming, coming." An Yinan rolled up her sleeves and walked into the kitchen.

The food was on the table, and everyone had taken their seats.

"Beijing University, here we come." An Yinan stood up, wearing a bright smile.

Everyone was excited, and then they all raised their glasses, "Beijing University, here we come."

The partners' long-awaited gathering; at this moment, they were all reunited.

"Nan Nan, is there still no word from Chen Xun?" Li Xiue asked.

An Yinan's excitement paused for a moment, then she raised a smile again, "He has a mission; as a military spouse, I just need to wait for the result."

That is how it is for military spouses; there are many things they do not know, knowing only that no news is good news.

"He will be safe," everyone said one after another.

An Yinan smiled, "I have always believed that."

To keep An Yinan from feeling sad, everyone skipped the topic of Chen Xun.

"I heard you are opening a shop?" Xie Shuyang asked.

An Yinan nodded, "What are your thoughts?"

Xie Shuyang took out a piece of paper, on which were recorded factories and contact information, as well as the temperaments and backgrounds of the factory managers.

"These were investigated by my father and Uncle Xie together; they finally selected reliable factories, you can try contacting them," Xie Shuyang explained.

He understood his Yuanyuan's temperament very well; she trusted An Yinan far more than she trusted him.

No one else in the world could compare to An Yinan.

This was the firmest thing in her heart.

"Thank you." An Yinan took the paper and looked clearly at the handwriting; not a single character was Xie Yuanyuan's, and she knew Xie Yuanyuan's handwriting well.

It was likely that the Xie Family was also worried, which was why they had Xie Shuyang get involved.

However, Xie Shuyang had his own sense of propriety, only doing the part for Yuanyuan.

"You're welcome." Xie Shuyang raised his glass, everything understood without words.
