Chapter 349: Kang Jian's Story 1
Before dawn the next day, Chen Xun had already left the Guest House; his leave was very precious, and only after handing over his current mission was he able to take a day off.
After An Yinan woke up and looked at the empty room, she was already accustomed to it.
Who told her to be a military wife?
"Nan Nan, going out?" From the former Comrade An, to the current Nan Nan.
The change in how the sister-in-law addressed her also indicated her closeness to An Yinan.
"Yes, sister-in-law, I need to go out and take a look today." An Yinan did not specify what.
The sister-in-law waved her hand, "Go on then, stay safe!"
"Understood, thank you, sister-in-law." An Yinan walked out.
Finding a place with no one around, she took out her old bicycle; this was no longer Quanshui Village, so as long as she didn't let Chen Xun know, it would be fine.
She first went to find an empty warehouse, then placed some fabric inside; these fabrics would not be of much use later, so it was better to use them up during this time.
When she designed the clothes, many of the base fabrics were referenced from the fabrics in her space.
After settling the fabric, she rode her bike to the factory.
"Factory Director!"
"Factory Director, you're here."
Everyone greeted An Yinan with smiles when they ran into her; despite An Yinan's young age, she was the one who got the factory running normally.
Everyone had work, and they didn't have to go hungry.
This was better than anything else.
"Factory Director, you're here." For the past two days, Sun Jun had felt like he was dreaming; watching the beloved machines start to run, he didn't even want to go home.
"Take a look, this was made yesterday. I checked it, and the quality is fine." Sun Jun took her to the storeroom to let her see the clothes that had already been stacked up.
An Yinan pulled out a few pieces, and there were no problems; she was still very satisfied with this level of quality.
"We have five lines now. According to the blueprints you gave us, we can finish in about half a month." Sun Jun rubbed his hands; he had calculated the man-hours yesterday.
An Yinan looked at him; she hadn't realized it before, but he was truly a workaholic!
"I was just afraid, that's all!" Sun Jun felt a bit embarrassed.
"Alright, I'll give you the blueprints in a moment. For large-batch shipments, our factory will not produce clothes for outside parties."
The blueprints An Yinan designed were divided into two major categories; one category was specifically for her own shops, and these designs had more of a sense of style.
And there were others, some of which were Zhou Ruoran's designs, and some were designs she had intentionally made more ordinary; these clothes would fill the shops and also be sent to the two shops in Yangcheng for wholesale.
The inventory levels had to be met for this.
Furthermore, some autumn clothing design drafts had also been rushed out, though there was no need to hurry.
"Are there more?" Sun Jun was happy.
An Yinan said again, "Right, find a few people to go with me to the rented warehouse; there is a batch of materials I arranged there earlier."
Sun Jun quickly agreed; he had gone out yesterday to order materials, but they wouldn't be delivered that quickly and would take two days.
If the materials ordered by the Factory Director arrived, they could be used for an emergency if they were suitable.
Sun Jun called over quite a few young men and went to the warehouse with An Yinan.
An Yinan handed the warehouse key directly to Sun Jun; Sun Jun opened the warehouse door and saw the warehouse full of fabric.
"Pinch me, am I dreaming?"
Such a large warehouse, and it was actually all fabric?
An Yinan touched her nose; it was just that she had hoarded quite a lot.
In fact, she had always had a bit of a hoarding habit, and now that she had the space, this habit had never changed.
However, she was also willing to use them, and now was a good time to bring them out.
"Factory Director, you are too amazing. How did you manage to order so much fabric?"
Fabric in Yangcheng currently required pre-ordering before they could rush production, which took at least two or three days.
Sun Jun still had a personal connection with that factory director, who had prioritized him; otherwise, let alone three days, with the small amount he had ordered, it wouldn't have been possible to get it in half a month.
"Heaven's secrets must not be leaked. Later, draw up an itemized list and bill for me, based on market prices."
Although it was her factory and her fabric, she should still follow the proper procedures.
"Fine, leave it to old Sun." Sun Jun patted his chest with a loud "thwack," showing just how excited he was.
An Yinan said again, "Right, in three days, send all the finished products to this warehouse. I'll give you one of the keys."
"Keep an outbound record; I will have people come to take these away."
"For the other finished products, you need to mail them to this address."
"Also, I will have the shop send the contract over; you can go through the process then," An Yinan instructed.
She also hadn't expected that by buying the factory directly, her initial idea had only been to rent two production lines.
"Alright, Factory Director, don't worry."
An Yinan had long since noted down the factory's phone number; if there was anything in the future, she could call the factory directly, though it wasn't very easy to find her here.
After leaving the warehouse, An Yinan went to find Kang Jian.
"An Jie." Kang Jian had already returned to normal; now he had thought it through—given his own conditions, wasn't this a case of a toad lusting after a swan's flesh?
"I'm looking for you to ask if you want to continue running goods like this, or if you want to settle down?"
"You also know about my two shops. To tell you the truth, I'm in Beijing and don't have that much time to come over; I need someone I can trust to help me watch the shops."
An Yinan spoke bluntly; although she would arrange for retired soldiers to come later, she truly did think highly of Kang Jian.
This kid was clever, calm, and could talk well; he was material for doing business.
Kang Jian thought for a long time, "An Jie, if you have time, come into the courtyard and sit."
An Yinan nodded and sat in the courtyard with him; the courtyard gate was left open to prevent people from gossiping.
"My asthma is because of my mother." This was the first thing Kang Jian said.
An Yinan had taken his pulse, so she naturally knew that his asthma had a psychological component, but she had not expected that this psychological cause was actually his mother.
"When I was five years old, she brought a man home, and I saw it when I came back from outside."
"She was afraid I would tell people about these things, so she pushed me into the flour vat."
"At that time, I couldn't cry, I couldn't scream; I still remember that moment, having no way to breathe, the flour choking me so I couldn't catch my breath."
"My father didn't know where he heard about my mother's affairs, and he came rushing back from outside, just in time to see this scene."
"He grabbed the shovel nearby and struck her with it."
At this moment, his breathing became somewhat rapid; he clutched his throat, and his face turned somewhat flushed.
"If you don't want to talk about it, then don't," An Yinan said, quickly taking out a Silver Needle.
But Kang Jian shook his head.
Meanwhile, Kang Jian's grandfather stood at the gate of the courtyard, not moving, his eyes already brimming with tears.
Kang Jian slowly adjusted his breathing, trying bit by bit to believe those images, to believe the fact that he had almost been smothered to death by his mother.
And he also had to believe that his father had killed that woman.
