Chapter 359: Seeing the Old Man Again
An Yinan caught up on some sleep until the sound of knocking on the door rang out.
"Is Nan Nan in?" Li Xiue asked gently.
Because of Nan Nan, everyone got along very well; sometimes when they bought food outside, they would also send some to this dormitory, making their relationship even closer.
"She's sleeping," Yun Duo said.
Li Xiue said, "Then I'll come back in a while."
As soon as the words fell, An Yinan pulled back the curtain, "Li Xiu'e, come in."
Hearing An Yinan's somewhat hoarse voice, the few of them all frowned.
"Are you sick?" Li Xiue asked with concern.
"I have medicine here; my mother brought me medicine when she left." Jiang Yunduo hurriedly opened her locker and took out the medicine; as for how to take it, she didn't know either, but in any case, for common illnesses, her medicine would definitely have it.
"I'll pour you some water." Zhang Jia washed An Yinan's water cup clean and then poured hot water.
Seeing the people below bustling about, An Yinan hurriedly waved her hand, "It's nothing, I just haven't had water for too long, my throat is a bit dry."
She had no symptoms of a cold, and she hadn't drunk much water all morning; she was a bit tired, and she reckoned it was internal heat.
"Then drink some water first; if you still feel uncomfortable, then take the medicine," Li Xiue said worriedly.
An Yinan nodded, first tidying up her own bed, and only then did she come down.
"Li Xiu'e, please tell the people at the shop, and also Liu Jiumu, that we are going to have a meeting at the Xiao Yuan tonight."
She didn't know how long this mission would take, and now she wanted to arrange everything she could for the future.
"Alright, I'll go notify them. Since you've come back, get some more rest; you don't need to be so tired," Li Xiue said with a touch of heartache.
She wanted to rest too, but one thing followed another; how could she push them away?
"It's fine, you go tell everyone first." An Yinan smiled; since Li Xiu'e had come, she didn't need to go find people herself.
"That works, I'll go find them, you don't go out for now," Li Xiue instructed, then hurriedly walked out.
This era is just bad in this one respect: there are no mobile phones, and telephones are not easy to get installed.
If there is anything, one has to have people find people, or write letters, but a letter takes a long time to go back and forth, and one doesn't know how long it will drag on.
Now the Xiao Yuan has already applied in the name of the shop, but it requires waiting in line; as for when it will be their turn, who knows.
"Are you going out again?" Jiang Yunduo asked.
Nan Nan didn't come to the classroom this morning, but she was at school, so she probably had something going on again.
"Yes, I don't know how long this time will be." Her roommates would know sooner or later, and since she wasn't attending class or in the dormitory, she was also afraid everyone would worry.
Jiang Yunduo and Zhang Jia looked at each other; it seemed that in their dormitory, they were the only two idlers.
Everyone was very busy; Ruo Ran and Er Ya were a bit better, at least they could be seen every day.
Nan Nan was someone who couldn't be seen even once in ten days or half a month.
An Yinan looked at the time and ate a little something; she didn't have much stuff in the dormitory anyway.
When it was almost time, she went directly to Teacher Liu's office.
"I applied with the school, and the Principal approved it directly, but his meaning was for you to get more rest." Liu Jianguo handed the books to An Yinan and then relayed the Principal's words.
The Principal didn't state Student An's identity, but the implication inside and out was that she had a major task to do on this leave of absence.
Although he didn't know what the country would have a student do, he understood the importance of the mission.
"I don't know what you are going to do, and I won't ask, but as your teacher, I still must urge you: you must pay attention to safety."
An Yinan understood Teacher Liu's concerns and spoke directly, "Teacher, there is no danger, don't worry."
She left the school, prepared her things, and went straight back to the Xiao Yuan.
Until she heard the sound of a car, she carried her bag and walked out of the courtyard.
"Comrade Xiao An, long time no see." Feng Zhong was still the same as before, with a smile on his face, looking kind and approachable.
"Uncle Feng, long time no see." An Yinan also greeted him.
Along the way, it was just as quiet as before.
But today, An Yinan wasn't reading; instead, she was writing and drawing in a notebook, though it was unclear what she was writing.
Actually, An Yinan was drawing the main designs for autumn; the summer clothes had already been finalized, but for autumn, only three designs had come out. She had originally planned to start drawing in half a month, but she hadn't expected a mission to disrupt her plans.
She could only squeeze in time to do this.
"Are these clothes?" Feng Zhong saw her drawings and asked somewhat uncertainly.
An Yinan nodded, "Yes, clothes."
"So clothes need to be drawn too," Feng Zhong sighed.
An Yinan didn't answer this time, only the tip of her pen quickly drawing lines of varying depth.
Upon arriving at the place, they first underwent an inspection, and only then did they enter the small path.
"Has the gentleman been resting on time lately? How is his physical condition? Has the coughing problem flared up?" An Yinan asked carefully.
The old man might not give her the answer, although she could diagnose some things by taking his pulse.
But it still needed to be adjusted according to his daily routine.
When the two reached this point, Feng Zhong replied, "The gentleman has followed the schedule you set completely; now the coughing can't be heard, and his breathing has also become much lighter and easier."
"By the way, his appetite has also improved these past two days." Feng Zhong knew these data points were very important to Comrade An, so he mentioned them in advance.
An Yinan nodded; the old man's body had been over-depleted before.
Now, by consolidating his foundation and cultivating his vitality, plus the exercise of the Eight Brocades, the old man's body would be much better.
"Why did you only just come?" Upon hearing this tone, An Yinan knew who it was.
She also hadn't expected Professor Feng to be so quick on his feet.
"I have to take exams!" An Yinan replied helplessly.
"Shall I take his pulse first?" An Yinan looked at the old man, asking.
The old man smiled, "How come after a week of not meeting, you've become so polite?"
It wasn't like this before; you'd come and just start talking about pulse-taking, Acupuncture, and exercise.
Now you're actually asking questions.
An Yinan was displeased; wasn't this smearing her reputation?
"When have I ever not asked?"
"Are you going to wrong me like that?"
The old man pointed at her, "You!"
However, he still stretched his arm over, "Please, take the pulse."
An Yinan placed her fingers on it, while her eyes did not leave the old man's face; she was observing the old man's mental state, as well as some things that could be seen from his physiognomy.
"Switch." An Yinan took her fingers away, then said.
The old man switched arms, not speaking during the process.
"Alright." An Yinan nodded.
Two ingredients in the Small Silver Pill can be changed.
"Comrade An, how is the gentleman's health?" Seeing that An Yinan had been in a state of contemplation, Feng Zhong hurriedly asked, fearing that the gentleman's health had undergone changes.
The old man, however, waved his hand, "Don't interrupt her, let her think."
