Chapter 506: Eight Shops?

~7 min read 1,355 words

"You two chat first, we will excuse ourselves for a moment."

After Zhao Qiu Hua finished speaking, she took An Yinan and walked out.

"Phew!" An Yinan let out a breath, her back leaning directly against the wall as she watched the people coming and going on the street outside.

Zhao Qiu Hua smiled, "I learned a lot today."

An Yinan looked to her side, "Qiu Hua, if one day I say something I shouldn't, please tell me directly."

They were not biological sisters, but having walked this path together, their bond was even stronger than that of biological sisters.

Sometimes, there are too many things that can cloud one's eyes.

She was afraid that she might one day become like Yang Zheng, saying things that would hurt her sisters.

Zhao Qiu Hua looked at Nan Nan, "Nan Nan, you won't."

An Yinan was puzzled, and Zhao Qiu Hua added the latter part, "Believe me, we won't give you that chance either."

They had been working hard all along!

Working desperately hard, following in her footsteps.

Are they tired?

Truly very tired; the radiance of the person beside them was so bright that it made everything around them seem dark, including themselves.

Do they regret it?

She smiled, the arc of her lips curving upward in a way identical to An Yinan's.

No regrets! With such an outstanding person as a friend, how could she regret it?

If not for Nan Nan, she would still be an Educated Youth, and even if she had returned to the City, she wouldn't know what to do; perhaps she would have found a decent family, married, had children, and lived her whole life just like that.

But they followed Nan Nan's footsteps, came to Beijing University, saw a broader world, saw challenge after challenge, and that future full of unknowns.

Yes, the unknown!

In the past, she could see the end of her days at a single glance.

Now, she doesn't know where the future lies, but with every step she takes, her heart feels steady.

An Yinan checked her watch; fifteen minutes had passed, the siblings should have finished saying what they needed to say, right?

"Let's go in." An Yinan called out to Qiu Hua.

The two entered the room and saw that the two people inside were no longer speaking.

An Yinan scanned the expressions of the two and raised an eyebrow.

"How have you decided?" An Yinan sat in her original seat and took a sip of plain water, but the water was a bit cold; she silently placed the cup back on the table, not wanting to touch it again.

But just then, Qiu Hua picked up the kettle on the clay stove and poured a little hot water into her cup.

Between the two, there was no need for any words, just a look or a guess.

They probably knew what the other needed or what should be done.

Yang Yun watched the interaction between the two, a glimmer of light appearing in her eyes, "You two have a very good relationship?"

She asked a question that had nothing to do with the cooperation.

An Yinan smiled, holding the cup she had just set down in her hand, feeling the warmth radiating from it.

Many people think that she is the one leading this group of friends forward.

But only when they are around does she never feel lonely, and she never has to look back, because she knows they are right by her side.

Friendship is mutual; others only see what she has contributed, but they don't see that these sisters, and the lovely Yuanyuan, have done even more for her.

"We were Educated Youth in the same village." Zhao Qiu Hua didn't say more, and as she said this, she glanced at An Yinan's cup.

Seeing her holding it in her hand and knowing it wasn't cold anymore, she finally felt at ease.

"Aren't you students at Beijing University?" Yang Yun asked.

She knew this much; those four girls were all at Beijing University, and many students in Beijing who went there to buy clothes would talk about the story of the four of them.

However, those people didn't know much, and she hadn't paid much attention at the time, just listening to it as someone else's story.

"Yes!" Zhao Qiu Hua nodded.

Not only were they students at Beijing University, but now, all four of them were the top students in their respective departments.

But that was before they went to the Southern Front as volunteers; now that they were back, she didn't know everyone's grades yet.

Thinking about it, school would be starting soon, too.

"The four of us were all Educated Youth from the same village; later, the three of them took the exam for Beijing University together, and I got married and took the university exam in another place." An Yinan knew what Yang Yun wanted to ask and spoke directly and frankly.

Besides, these were not secrets; as long as someone wanted to know, it was very easy to find out.

"You are all so amazing." Yang Yun praised them sincerely.

She was a university student, but she had attended university abroad; during those years, it was impossible to take university exams domestically.

Beijing University—that was the highest institution of learning.

A group of friends working hard together and getting into the same school; she hadn't experienced that feeling, but just thinking about it was beautiful.

Yang Zheng was also somewhat surprised; he had found out that An Yinan had entered Beijing University, but he hadn't expected that all four of the girls in charge were at Beijing University.

"You're married?" Yang Yun suddenly said.

She hadn't noticed just now, only noting that the four of them had taken the exams together, but now that she recalled it, she suddenly realized...

An Yinan blinked, "Sister Yang Yun, it would be strange if I weren't married."

She might not be incredibly beautiful, but she could be considered delicate and lovely, right?

She had money when she needed it and looks when she needed them.

Getting married wasn't strange at all.

"I just didn't expect..." Yang Yun felt a bit embarrassed; she was older than them, yet she was the one being so surprised.

Yang Zheng watched the three of them chat, especially seeing the interaction between Zhao Qiu Hua and An Yinan, and he looked at his sister, seemingly understanding why his sister liked to associate with this group of people.

"This is the contract I've finished filling out." Yang Zheng pushed the contract over.

The previously blank contract was now completely filled out, especially in the shop address section, where a full eight addresses had been written.

"Eight shops?" An Yinan looked at the two siblings.

"If we want to fully spread our operations in Shanghai and make some people afraid to pull any tricks, eight is just right," Yang Zheng said.

An Yinan shrugged; she didn't care about the number, as the more shops there were, the more goods they would move, and the more profit they would get later on.

"What does Sister Yang Yun think?" However, she sought Yang Yun's opinion.

Their partnership was not with Yang Zheng, but with Sister Yang Yun opposite her.

"My brother and I discussed it; these shops are all our private properties. Some were rented out before, but we will be taking them back one after another in the near future."

"However, I really like the decoration style of your shops, and your contract also requires a unified decoration style. I hope you can send someone over to coordinate with the renovation team I've found." When talking business, Yang Yun lost her simple-minded air and became clear and organized instead.

An Yinan smiled; only a person like this could put her at ease.

If it were the Yang Yun she had seen before, eight shops could indeed move more goods, but if a problem arose, it would be a devastating disaster, meaning the Nanyuan Embroidery brand might never be able to enter the Shanghai market again.
