Chapter 52: Miracle
Ever since he had known Dandan, he had never seen this kind of expression; the more pain Dandan felt in her body, the more peaceful she became, simply so as not to worry those around her. Whether it was the pain or the pretense, both had traces to follow, and he simply chose not to break the illusion.
But now, he knew that Dandan was not in pain.
An Yinan looked at the two of them and, having accomplished her task, withdrew; she feared they needed their own space.
She sat in the hospital corridor, a bit unable to understand why she felt so special toward Yun Dan—it was that kind of special feeling in her heart. Despite it being only their second meeting, she felt closer to her than to many others, and she couldn't help but want to care for her. When she saw her life fading away, there was actually a sense of panic in her heart.
Chen Shao called the Doctor, and after a series of examinations, the Doctor shouted "a miracle."
Blood-thirst Disease is a terminal illness; it constantly devours blood, causing the blood in the body to become less and less, the body to become worse and worse, and the immune system to decline.
Unexpectedly, the current blood content had actually reached the normal standard.
Someone who had already been sentenced to death during the noon examination was now actually a normal person?
"What did the patient eat? Or what was used?" The Doctor looked anxiously at Chen Shao, an unconscious urgency in his voice.
Yun Dan had already fallen into a deep sleep; since her birth, this was the first time she had fallen asleep without pain.
Chen Shao thought of that pill from An Yinan, "She didn't eat anything, she didn't even eat a meal, and nothing was used."
He chose to lie; he had to protect An Yinan.
If these people knew that Yun Dan had recovered just because of one pill, it would be impossible to imagine what might happen.
The Doctor sighed and finally could only say, "This must be a miracle."
The Doctor left, and Chen Shao looked at the sleeping Yun Dan, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
Only then did he push open the door to the ward and see An Yinan sitting on a chair.
"Thank you," Chen Shao said to An Yinan, from the bottom of his heart, heavy as ten thousand pounds.
An Yinan, however, shook her head, "No need for courtesy, it is a miracle, isn't it?"
An Yinan had heard the Doctor's words and also heard Chen Shao's concealment; naturally, she knew this was to protect her.
She did not know medical arts, and all of this relied on her space; naturally, she had no way to answer questions. With this protection, she could act as if nothing had happened and continue living her life.
"No, if there is anything you need help with, anytime, anywhere, Chen Shao will not shirk his duty," Chen Shao said firmly.
An Yinan could not figure out the feelings in her heart for Yun Dan; it seemed like that kind of tangled, messy knot, and it also seemed like a fated bond, impossible to describe or explain.
"Then please mail my translation draft as soon as possible; I am waiting for the money," An Yinan smiled.
Chen Shao nodded, "I need to watch over Dandan now; come to the Xinhua Bookstore at three o'clock this afternoon. The examination draft for you from the city has come down."
The examination draft was finalized without waiting for the third batch of translation drafts to be submitted.
That explained the level of recognition from above for the little girl's translation.
"An in-person exam?" An Yinan was puzzled.
Chen Shao thought for a moment and then said truthfully, "The country is too lacking in translation talent. Your accuracy rate is one hundred percent. Along with the examination draft, your salary for the second translation has also come down. The country has also given you quite a few coupons, which shows how much they value you."
"After this exam, the confidentiality level of your files will be raised, and any translation materials you receive in the future will need to be kept confidential."
"However, these are all things for after the assessment. For now, you are still at the Primary level; you can collect the translation materials after you finish the exam."
Chen Shao introduced it very carefully, explaining all the pros and cons clearly.
An Yinan agreed, "Then I will go to take the exam this afternoon. I won't cause any more trouble for you now; take good care of your aunt." An Yinan finally couldn't help but add that instruction.
She walked away, no longer in the rush she had been in when she first arrived.
Liu Yun saw An Yinan walking down the stairs, "I heard from the Doctor that a miracle occurred; your aunt should have returned to normal."
An Yinan nodded, "Thank you, Liu Yun-jie. Time was urgent just now, and I was impolite; please do not blame me."
Liu Yun waved her hand, "It's human nature. This is also what I should do. In the future, as long as you come to the hospital, if you have any matters, just come directly to me."
"That would be great. I'm going to Liu Meijie's place in a while; if you are resting, Liu Yun-jie, you can come too," An Yinan blinked her eyes as she spoke.
It meant the goods had been brought; Liu Yun understood in a second.
"I still have to work my shift; you go find my cousin first. You ran over in such a hurry, I'm afraid you haven't eaten yet, right? The food at my cousin's place is good; let her treat you. I won't keep you for a meal," Liu Yun laughed.
After the two said their goodbyes, An Yinan reached her small hand into the large basket and, shielded by the blue cloth, moved the items into the basket.
However, the clothes took up too much space, and the large basket actually had a bit of a bulge.
An Yinan looked around; fortunately, there was no one nearby. She would have to be careful next time.
Just at this moment, "Ding, task completed, reward: Hemostasis Pill Formula (Superior) (already stored in the space)."
Hearing this "ding" from the system, her heart finally settled; Aunt Yun Dan was fine.
An Yinan walked with light steps to the State-run Restaurant. The State-run Restaurant was kept very clean, and the long benches were turned upside down on the tables.
"Liu Meijie." After walking into the main hall, she saw Liu Mei sleeping with her head on the table.
Hearing the movement, Liu Mei lifted her head and saw the person she had been thinking about day and night for the past few days. How could she not think of her? It was all about the little money; who would go against money?
"Little sister, you're here. Did you bring it?" Liu Mei looked at An Yinan.
An Yinan was afraid someone might be coming to work behind her, so she just nodded.
A look of joy appeared on Liu Mei's face, "My home isn't far from here; let's go sit at my place."
While saying this, Liu Mei went to the back kitchen to give some instructions. After coming out, she took off her work uniform, changed into her own clothes, and then left.
The two walked together for more than ten minutes and arrived at Liu Mei's home.
It was a Xiao Yuan; the courtyard was not large, looking to be about the size of four rooms, but it was kept very clean.
"Little sister, drink some water." Liu Mei first poured a cup of warm water for An Yinan. Guests rarely came to their home, and the couple didn't have the habit of drinking tea, so she only then remembered that she should keep some tea leaves on hand.
"Liu Meijie, don't go to any trouble. I've brought the items; take a look at the material and the style." An Yinan opened the large basket on her back and saw the items wrapped in a layer of thick newspaper.
An Yinan first took out a small package and untied the string binding the newspaper, only then revealing the Woolen Coat wrapped inside.
It was exactly the men's Woolen Coat in the size An Yinan had first obtained.
"This was bought according to the size you first gave me; take a look first." An Yinan didn't urge her, handing it directly to Liu Mei.
Liu Mei first spread the clothes out and immediately saw the cut of the garment, then felt the woolen fabric; the thickness was much better than what was at the provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperative.
