Chapter 277: The Peacock's Legacy
Darkness exploded.
The giant exploded.
Chaos exploded.
The jade disc exploded.
Boundless light, boundless heat, boundless space and time turned into tangible, substantive lines, passing through Wu Tie.
Countless mysteries, countless secrets, countless patterns, countless laws, like great rivers and seas, roaring as they flowed past Wu Tie, this 'reef' lying across the void.
The reef, thus left traces of these river waters.
Wu Tie's blood boiled, his vital energy surged, the light clusters formed from the thirteen groups of heart-transmission seeds expanded violently, and the heavenly locks within him melted layer by layer.
He completely lost all perception of the outside world, merely immersed in this boundless insight and emotion.
His physical avatar, with one foot on the stone steps of the Great Peacock Ming King Palace, now had tears streaming down his face.
This is the first image of the creation of heaven and earth.
He saw the process of the creation of heaven and earth.
An indescribable thunderous roar surged forth, continuous and endless, with no end in sight.
Streams of chaos burst, shattered, exploded into countless fragments, then under the impact of the vast river-like mysteries, secrets, patterns, and laws, and under the sorting by Wu Tie's incomprehensible 'creation' power, these fragments began to settle and coalesce.
Light surged, light boiled.
Wu Tie saw enormous streams of light shooting out from that infinitesimally small point where darkness, giant, chaos, and jade disc exploded.
Among them, a five-colored radiance, surrounded by five-colored divine light, revealed a gigantic stream of light in which was a colossal peacock whose entire body was covered in emerald-green feathers like carved jade, its tail feathers blazing with dazzling light, as if millions of hues had gathered together, now blazing fiercely.
The Great Peacock had just been born from nothingness, so he appeared dazed, his eyes blank, like a newborn infant.
Fearful, yet delighted.
The Great Peacock's long neck, with a hint of panic, looked left and right.
Beside him, a nine-clawed giant dragon, its entire body entwined with seven colors, came charging rudely, opening its mouth to bite his slender neck.
The Great Peacock raised its claw and slapped the nine-clawed giant dragon's face.
From the side, a stream of light wrapped in black and white qi surged forth—a colossal golden Peng whose feathers' lengths measured in light-years, screeching with bared teeth like a madman; its long, sharp beak turned into a torrent of light that slammed heavily onto the dragon's face.
The dragon, beaten bloody by the peacock and the Peng together, cursed and turned to leave.
The peacock and the Peng flew side by side; watching the fleeing dragon, they couldn't help but emit sharp, joyous cries.
Strange streams of light continuously spewed from the explosion point.
Wu Tie saw the dragon.
Saw the phoenix.
Saw the fiery male lion.
Saw the qilin.
Saw the ba snake.
Saw all kinds of strange and wondrous divine beasts and birds recorded in the knowledge transmitted by Old Tie.
But these divine beasts and birds spewing from the explosion point were a hundred times more miraculous than those recorded in Old Tie's transmitted knowledge.
Just like that colossal holy elephant with skin as white as a pearl, he stepped on four huge lotuses, six gleaming ivory tusks protruded from his mouth, he held a lotus stem in his mouth, a trembling lotus wound around his neck, and a lotus blossomed atop his head.
Upon the lotus pedestal, it actually supported a small world.
In that small world, clear spring water spurted from the lotus petals; wherever the holy elephant passed, the spring flowed, and amidst the chaotic void, great lotuses blossomed, their fragrant scent blowing in the face.
Also like that entirely earth-yellow qilin; though there was nothing in the void, once this qilin appeared, wherever it passed, behind it condensed mountain ranges stretching tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of li, eventually vast enough to be measured in light-years.
Layer upon layer of heavy, solemn mountain ranges condensed from nothing; the qilin gave a soft roar, and within the mountains, veins of earth qi surged forth, emitting a low, dragon-like howl.
Those divine beasts and birds spewing from inside the explosion point were all restless.
Just as the nine-clawed giant dragon attacked the Great Peacock, only to be taught a lesson by the peacock and the Peng together, many divine beasts and birds, as if innately antagonistic, when gathered together became a chaotic battle.
Specks of chaotic, colored divine blood fell from the sky; these divine blood fell into the mountains formed by the qilin's power, thus giving rise to clusters of minerals.
And the lotus born from the holy elephant's clear spring, when it landed on the ground, gave rise to countless strange flowers and herbs appearing out of nowhere.
Wu Tie was immersed in the melee of divine beasts and birds fighting across the sky.
Their every move was naturally perfect, with no discernible technique, yet supremely reasonable and harmonious—the innate most lethal, killing-intent strongest technique, far more profound than Wu Tie's current Overlord Spear Art transmitted by Old Tie.
Countless traces gathered in his mind, turning into spears, swords, and broad blades, which he practiced in the depths of his soul.
Wu Tie's physical avatar's muscles twitched minutely all over; at times spear-light burst forth, at times sword-light flashed, at times blade and axe-light surged from beneath his skin.
The White Tiger Fissure silently appeared, clinging tightly to Wu Tie's body; countless marvelous qi continually passed through Wu Tie's body into the White Tiger Fissure, which emanated a pallid killing qi and cold light; its spear shaft trembled slightly, its aura growing at a terrifying speed.
To the outside world, only a finger-snap's time had passed, but Wu Tie, within that boundless light of creation, had lost track of how long he had been immersed.
In the end, all the streams of light suddenly retracted inward.
All the mountain ranges and other miraculous constructs simultaneously collapsed inward.
A huge, square continent appeared, each side length proportioned according to some perfect standard.
This vast, boundless square continent hung silently in the void, red sun and blue moon orbiting it swiftly, while countless stars of various sizes shone upon it.
Numberless stars transformed into a silver river that circled and rotated around this square continent.
The land is square, the galaxy's orbit is spherical.
The heavenly-round, earthly-square world structure was thus established.
Those divine beasts and birds scattered onto this continent, each seeking its preferred blessed land to settle.
The qilin ran to the continent's center, where a towering mountain peak pierced the void to reach the earth's core; a blue dragon went east, a black giant turtle went north, a white fierce tiger occupied the west, and within a great volcano in the south dwelled a vermilion bird nesting.
In rivers, lakes, seas, deep mountains and giant valleys, these miraculous extraordinary beings have claimed their territories.
Wu Tie gazed upon this huge square continent, likewise formed from nothing, and he knew its name.
'M'!
Mu Dalu!
The first piece of land after the heavens and earth were split, the only land, with the sun and moon circling and stars shining, a supreme blessed land.
Far away, at the extremely distant horizon, after just attacking the giant and the chaotic strange beast, forcing the giant to break open, those specks of light from the Fortune Jade Butterfly quietly appeared. They emitted strange light shining on Mu Dalu, but soon the galaxy formed from the stars across the sky stirred.
As the galaxy moved, the heavens turned, and various hazy flames of light appeared out of nowhere in the void.
The strange power of those specks was blocked outside by that fluctuating galaxy. The specks kept flashing, seemingly strengthening their assault, but the galaxy was very stable and firmly blocked their attacks.
Mu Dalu swayed slightly.
Two brilliant strands of purple-gold light suddenly appeared above Mu Dalu.
A man and a woman, with human bodies and snake tails, immensely huge, each holding a compass and a square, their bodies entwined with black and white yin-yang qi, intertwining into double-helix flowing light, they roared out from the purple-gold light and in an instant swept across all of Mu Dalu.
On Mu Dalu, countless divine beasts and birds born from the great explosion raised their heads to watch those two spiraling streams of light rush forward.
Suddenly a nine-clawed giant dragon laughed loudly.
He tore open his own chest's reverse scale with a claw, and specks of essence blood flew.
The giant dragon's essence blood infected the yin-yang creative, union and reproduction qi in those two streams of light, instantly transforming into numerous dragons of various sizes and forms, yet innately divided into male and female.
Countless dragons filled the sky, their power weaker than the nine-clawed giant dragon by ten million times, yet their appearance signified that dragons were no longer solitary beasts but a race capable of reproduction and self-inheritance.
Such was the dragon, such the qilin, such the azure dragon, such the white tiger……
Thus Mu Dalu, seeming somewhat lacking in vitality, immediately had countless divine beasts and birds flying wildly across the sky and running wildly across the land.
Mu Dalu itself seemed to also harbor a tremendous creative force; after the man-and-woman with human bodies and snake tails appeared, clusters of blood-qi surged in Mu Dalu's rivers, lakes, seas, mountains and hills, following the pattern of those innate divine beasts and birds, and many powerful ferocious beasts and giant birds also appeared.
The power of these ferocious beasts and giant birds was far inferior to that of the divine beasts and birds transformed from essence blood, but their numbers were vastly greater, at least a trillion times more.
Wu Tie saw the first great peacock after the heavens and earth were split.
He lay prostrate on a giant bodhi tree, which stood atop a vast snowy mountain.
He far off saw the flowing spiral light flying through the air, tilted his head in thought, and also spat out a stream of essence blood, green-colored and surrounded by five-colored divine light, shooting far away.
The essence blood sprayed out of the snowy mountain and fell into the bodhi grove at its base.
Thousands of peacocks, their bodies entirely bluish-green like carved jade, appeared out of thin air; they sang to the heavens, emitting clear cries, then paired up, spread their wings, and leisurely turned into five-colored rainbows flying in all directions across Mu Dalu.
Wu Tie quietly watched all of this.
He watched those miraculous peacocks reproduce and thrive on Mu Dalu.
Watching them suffer repeated heavy heavenly disasters and fateful calamities, seeing their population go from extremely prosperous to swiftly decline, then from extreme decline suddenly rekindle like dead fire, their great wings once again covering the sky……
After who knows how long, following successive flashes of strange light, Wu Tie saw the great peacock's population dwindle to the brink of total extinction.
Just then, humanity appeared.
Humanity, Wu Tie's mind inexplicably gained this aura.
That was the woman 'Nüwa Clan' among the two streams of spiral light that nurtured boundless reproductive creative power, following the model of the primordial giant 'Pangu', using the scattered Pangu essence-qi mixed with innate and acquired creative qi that had fallen on Mu Dalu, she painstakingly forged this people.
Humanity is innately weak, for they are merely a tiny speck of essence-blood qi from one of Pangu's countless divisions.
But they are ultimately formed from Pangu's essence blood.
Thus their innate bloodline encompasses everything, even containing the bloodlines of those first divine beasts and birds after the heavens and earth were split.
Over countless years, when countless divine beast and bird lineages neared extinction, they obtained Nüwa Clan's consent to merge their bloodlines… no, to re-converge into the human bloodline.
Part of humanity's 'chaotic' bloodline, under the pull of the manifested bloodline qi of those divine beasts and birds, saw the beasts' bloodline inheritance power become 'manifest' power; their descendants innately possessed a portion of those beasts' might.
They are precisely the humanoid descendants of those divine beasts and birds.
The scant divine beast and bird bloodlines spread in this way; the human clans that obtained such bloodlines took the beasts as totems, and their offspring were innately vastly stronger than ordinary humans.
Wu Tie suddenly understood the origin of the Great Snake Yi family.
They are not purely innate water snakes; they are descendants of the Ba snake, and driven by bloodline power they can transform into Ba snakes.
They inherited the Ba snake bloodline and are innately versed in all the Ba snake's divine abilities and secret arts.
They are, as if at birth, already having fully comprehended the secret arts and laws of that Ba snake lineage within the Heavenly Lock Chonglou; thus, when Great Snake Yi is born, he is already a master of the Chonglou Realm, for his cultivation path had been fixed through bloodline transmission long before countless ancestors.
Mu Dalu stabilized.
Before Wu Tie, countless light and shadows flashed by.
In an instant, too much information was obtained; Wu Tie can now record only a tiny fraction, the rest merely leaving faint traces.
A pair of narrow, shining with sacred spirituality peacock eyes suddenly appeared before Wu Tie.
A clear, lingering voice, like a babbling spring, very melodious, sounded directly in Wu Tie's heart: 'Although not my peacock bloodline… but since you are friends with my peacock descendants… and moreover your cultivation method is quite interesting, it reminds me of something from long ago…'
'Of course, and your whole skeleton… has it really come to this?'
'In that case, I grant you a share of creation.'
A piece of five-colored peacock tail feather flew out from the boundless void and lightly landed on Wu Tie's head.
In an instant, a tide-like surge of information poured into Wu Tie's soul.
The thirteen clusters of heart-transmission seed light clusters within him were rapidly consumed.
Setting foot on the first stone step of the Great Peacock Ming King Palace, Wu Tie's whole body shone with five-colored light and became completely translucent.
Behind Wu Tie, the Heavenly Lock Chonglou quietly appeared.
The Ninefold Heavenly Lock Chonglou emitted blinding divine light.
A slender, white finger, like carved jade and glowing with five-colored divine light, extended from within Wu Tie's body and lightly stroked the Ninefold Heavenly Lock Chonglou.
With a tremendous boom, the thirteen clusters of heart-transmission seed light clusters were completely exhausted, and the Ninefold Heavenly Lock Chonglou collapsed utterly, not a single thread of light remaining.
