Chapter 31: Facing Four Generals
In just a short time, the Qing Army had already begun to flee.
From the outset, the Qing Army lost the initiative, not only being ambushed, but also facing the astonishing commander Jia Jing and the elite Xuanjia Army, the finest of the elite.
It can be said that there was not even a sliver of chance of victory.
Jia Jing paid no heed to the fleeing Qing soldiers; outside, Zhu Que awaited them.
Jia Jing focused solely on charging toward the Qing Army's central camp tents,
He intended to kill the Qing leader first, thereby completely crushing the remaining soldiers' will to resist.
At this moment, Ji Du had finally gathered nearly five thousand men and horses along with a dozen Qing generals around him, mostly his own personal troops; though not perfectly ordered, they could at least take up weapons to slay the enemy!
Ji Du did not think of fleeing; if he were defeated, even a retreat would not spare him from blame.
He still wanted to charge forward, doubting that the Han Army possessed any force capable of fighting; as long as he could hold this wave of ambush, he would not be defeated.
As for what was lost in this battle, he would reclaim it from the Han people, doubled.
Ji Du mounted his warhorse, leading a dozen Qing generals and his assembled soldiers, and charged straight toward Jia Jing.
He thought to capture the leader first; as long as they killed the Han Army's chief commander of this ambush, they would still have a chance.
At this moment, Jia Jing's eyes were blood‑red; his body, cloak, and spear were drenched in fresh blood, making him look like a feral demon risen from hell.
The black qilin cloak behind him had been stained by blood into an even darker, terrifying hue, appearing somewhat uncanny.
No one knows how many Qing soldiers have perished beneath Jia Jing's spear!
A chilling murderous aura spread around Jia Jing, preventing the remaining Qing soldiers from daring to approach.
"Kill all these Tartars!" Jia Jing continuously let out a roar filled with killing intent and coldness.
The Xuanjia Army followed closely, their murderous intent equally terrifying; with each strike, countless Qing soldiers fell!
The Han Army was like a sharp spear thrusting into the Qing's heart, drawing ever nearer to the Qing central camp's great tent.
At this point, Jia Jing saw Ji Du surrounded by thousands of Qing troops.
Although he did not know Ji Du, seeing him protected at the center by thousands, Jia Jing realized he was likely the Qing commander.
Kill him!
Jia Jing let out a light hum and rushed swiftly toward Ji Du.
Any Qing soldier that stood in his way was mercilessly impaled to death.
At that moment, Ji Du also saw Jia Jing and the Xuanjia Army behind him.
"Which Han Army is this!?"
There was no time for more words; he immediately saw the Xuanjia Army in sheets harvesting Qing heads.
He couldn't help but gasp a cold breath! His scalp tingled!
"What an elite cavalry unit!" Ji Du exclaimed, his eyes filled with shock and a hint of fear.
Where exactly did this Han cavalry come from? He had never known the Han Army possessed such elite cavalry.
He had indeed faced Han cavalry before; aside from a few Liaodong manor retainers, the rest lacked any decent combat power.
But this cavalry was truly ferocious now, all armored, wielding black long knives that were razor‑sharp, capable of cleaving Qing soldiers outright.
This is probably stronger than the iron cavalry of my Great Qing's southern and northern campaigns! Ji Du couldn't help thinking.
But there was no time for his astonishment now, for Jia Jing was less than two hundred paces away, charging rapidly toward him.
As they drew nearer, Ji Du could see Jia Jing's features: tall and lanky, not bulky, unlike a fierce general.
His face was especially pale and clean, without a scar, suggesting he was not a warrior who often charged into battle!
"The plan now is to kill the Han commander first; then there will still be a sliver of hope," Ji Du decided swiftly.
"Luo Tuo, A Ji Ge, Tu Ye... go kill that Han junior officer!"
Ji Du issued the order swiftly.
These were the most valiant Manchu warriors at his side,
including Ba Tu Lu, who was always exceptionally brave, scarred all over, and surely could not be beaten by a yellow‑haired youngster.
"Kill!" under Ji Du's command,
Tu Ye and four other fierce generals, leading half of the Qing soldiers, brandished their weapons and charged toward Jia Jing.
Jia Jing naturally saw them, but felt no fear; he let out a cold snort, brandished his spear, urged his horse, and met them head‑on.
When the first charger, Tu Ye, raised his twin axes, Jia Jing thrust his spear straight at Tu Ye's chest with swift momentum,
a powerful thrust that lifted Tu Ye off his horse; even armor could not block Jia Jing's force.
He hoisted Tu Ye into the air, twisted the spear, and instantly slit Tu Ye's belly open,
guts and blood gushed out; Jia Jing shook his spear and slammed it onto the bodies of the charging A Ji Ge and Luo Tuo,
Both men could not get to Jia Jing and were knocked off their horses by him.
Then the fourth Qing fierce general stepped forward; Jia Jing struck his helmet hard with his spear, crushing his head down half a level, his eyeballs bulging, blood spilling from his mouth, looking as if he would die instantly.
In the blink of an eye, all four Qing fierce generals were cut down from their horses, none managing to land a single move against Jia Jing.
The next few fierce generals stared at each other, and for a moment none dared to step forward and challenge.
Ji Du at this moment was also bewildered, not understanding how Jia Jing could be so formidable!
It should be noted that A Ji Ge and his companions were not ordinary soldiers; they were fierce generals within the Qing.
Each could not even match a hundred men, but handling thirty to fifty was no problem.
That such fierce generals could not land a single move against Jia Jing is hard to believe.
When will the Han Army produce a warrior with such terrifying power!
Ji Du realized in his heart that defeat was now sealed.
He wanted to flee, but as the Qing commander he could not lose face at that moment.
Jia Jing would not give Ji Du any time to consider.
After killing several Qing Army fierce generals, he rode his horse straight at Ji Du without hesitation.
The remaining few fierce generals stepped forward to block, but were each knocked off their horses by Jia Jing's spear thrusts; the Xuanjia Army, without pausing, closely followed Jia Jing and ferociously charged at the Qing soldiers.
Amidst the thundering of ten thousand horses, the Han Army cavalry each became merciless executioners, cutting down the blocking Qing troops so they fled, discarding helmets and armor.
"Retreat! Quickly retreat!" At this moment Ji Du could no longer hold on, not daring to hesitate any further.
In the face of life and death, everything is trivial! First save your life, then talk!
The other Qing soldiers had long wanted to retreat; upon hearing Ji Du's order,
Each quickly turned their horses' heads, whipping their reins with haste, eager to get away from Jia Jing, this god of death.
"Where are you going!" Jia Jing had been staring at Ji Du all along!
How could I let him escape? He immediately spurred his horse to chase after Ji Du, his long spear whirling in an airtight dance; wherever he passed, flesh and blood flew.
