Chapter 133: Beauty in Bed
"Do you have nothing else to do this afternoon?"
After buying the vegetables, Yan Zhusheng watched Li Luo walk into the kitchen and couldn't help but ask from the doorway.
"This afternoon?" Li Luo put on an apron, thought carefully for a moment, and said, "I actually wanted to buy a laptop."
"Isn't there already a computer in your bedroom?"
"Well..." Li Luo smiled helplessly. "Recently, Xiaoxi has been using the computer constantly, which is affecting my writing a bit, so it's best if I buy my own."
"I see." Yan Zhusheng fell into a thoughtful state, then asked, "Besides the computer, is there nothing else?"
"Not for the moment."
Yan Zhusheng nodded, returned to the sofa in the living room, sat down, watched Li Luo's busy figure in the kitchen, silently took out her phone, and made a call.
Nearly an hour later, Li Luo simply cooked three dishes and invited Yan Zhusheng to sit at the dining table to eat together.
But before they had even taken two bites, a knocking sound came from the door.
Li Luo, the owner of the house, hadn't even had time to stand up when Yan Zhusheng suddenly jumped to her feet, ran to the door, and opened it.
"Who could be here at this time?" Li Luo stood up with a puzzled expression and followed, only to see Yan Zhusheng open the door and receive a shock-proof package bag resembling a briefcase from an auntie.
After seeing the auntie off, Yan Zhusheng carried the bag, turned to look at Li Luo, extended her hand, and handed the bag to him.
"What is this?"
"A gift for you."
"Ah?"
Li Luo reached out to take it, opened it to peek inside, then was stunned: "A laptop?"
"Mm."
"This looks like an ASUS, right?" Li Luo pulled out the laptop, glanced at it twice, and asked.
"I think so, I don't remember exactly." Yan Zhusheng looked confused for a moment, obviously not very familiar with it.
Li Luo smacked his lips, thinking that this flagship ASUS computer, in this day and age, would probably start at ten thousand yuan.
"Wait... did you have someone buy this just now, or did you get it from somewhere else?"
"This is my mother's." Yan Zhusheng said honestly.
"..." Li Luo's face was full of question marks; he hurriedly stuffed the computer back into the bag. "I can't take this. You should take it back immediately; if your mother finds out, she'll kill me."
"It's fine." Yan Zhusheng shook her head. "My mother got a new laptop, so this one was left at home for me to use, but I usually just use it to listen to music and don't really need it much."
"Still, it feels a bit awkward." Li Luo shook his head. "After all, it's such an expensive item; it can't just be given away like that."
"Then consider it lent to you." Yan Zhusheng blinked her eyes, finally revealing a hint of her true intention. "If you feel guilty, you can show me your drafts."
"So you were waiting for this all along?"
"No." Yan Zhusheng wore an expression of pure innocence. "I was just saying that; I don't really want to see them."
"Look if you want." Li Luo sighed. Someone was sleepy and a pillow was delivered right away; it also saved him the time of buying a new computer, so it was a good thing no matter how you looked at it.
As for the drafts, he wasn't worried that Yan Zhusheng would get bored after reading them and go to the comments section to spoil anything.
"But I'll make one thing clear in advance," Li Luo said. "You can read the drafts, but after you finish them, if you want to see new plot, you still have to wait as usual; after all, my book is still far from truly finished."
"It's fine." Yan Zhusheng pressed her lips together, as if already savoring the taste of the drafts. "I won't read too much."
"Heh, let's hope so." Li Luo clicked his tongue, then suddenly thought of a question. "So, who was the one who delivered the computer just now?"
"The cooking auntie."
"Does the cooking auntie have this kind of service?"
"Just pay per service."
"O-okay... I guess I'm just ignorant."
So this is how the employment issue of cooking aunties is solved?
After accepting Yan Zhusheng's kindness, Li Luo put the laptop back in his bedroom.
After finishing lunch, Yan Zhusheng obediently started clearing the table and voluntarily ran to the kitchen to wash the dishes.
Li Luo returned to his bedroom and, taking advantage of the free time in the afternoon, started writing.
He didn't know when it was, but after Li Luo finished writing two chapters, he turned his head and found that Yan Zhusheng had unknowingly sat by the bedside, watching him with a tranquil expression.
"You made no sound at all; that's a bit scary." Li Luo's mouth twitched; he actually felt a bit embarrassed to have her just sitting there like that.
So he simply downloaded his draft of over two hundred thousand words into a TXT file, compressed it, and sent it to Yan Zhusheng's phone.
"If you're bored, just read the novel." Li Luo glanced at the time. "I'll write a bit more and finish by four o'clock."
"Oh, okay." Yan Zhusheng nodded; although her expression didn't show much, the action of taking out her phone exposed her impatience.
A while later, Yan Zhusheng asked, "Can I lie down to read? Sitting makes my neck a bit tired."
Li Luo was currently writing the climax plot, with inspiration flowing constantly in his mind; he just hummed in agreement and didn't pay much attention to Yan Zhusheng.
By four o'clock, when Li Luo finished work on time, he turned his head to look and saw that Yan Zhusheng was already lying on his bed, occasionally kicking her calves and feet, holding her phone and reading with great interest.
At this moment, Yan Zhusheng was still wearing her school uniform.
But the blue-and-white jacket on the outside had been taken off at some unknown time and was just casually placed on Li Luo's bed.
Yan Zhusheng herself was only wearing that short-sleeved school uniform with a white base and blue trim, along with pure blue autumn school pants.
At first glance, only a pair of snow-white arms and a segment of tender white ankles were exposed.
Even her slender neck was covered by a cascade of black hair after her high ponytail was let down.
Yet, with such long hair reaching her waist and a beauty like a painting, just one look made people feel refreshed, as if drinking sweet spring water.
Especially when Yan Zhusheng lifted one foot, the white sock covering her foot traced a graceful arc, and the hem of the blue school pants slid down accordingly, revealing a segment of snow-white, delicate calf skin.
Tender and white like a small pudding, delicious, far more appetizing than a skirt that simply exposes the calves.
But... you really have no sense of boundaries...
"Are you finished writing?" Yan Zhusheng noticed Li Luo's gaze and turned her head to look at him.
"Done." Li Luo said. "Let's go to the piano room. Stop reading novels."
"Oh, then I'll use the bathroom." Yan Zhusheng said, got out of bed, slipped on slippers, and walked into Li Luo's bathroom.
Li Luo stood up, walked to the bed, glanced at his sheets, and fell into thought.
A few minutes later.
The two arrived at the piano room.
Yan Zhusheng sat before the piano, looked up at Li Luo: "Practice?"
"Not today." Li Luo quickly shook his head. "I'm sick of those two songs. Let's switch it up today."
"Then what do you want to sing?"
"Let's sing something new."
Li Luo picked up the guitar in the corner, sat on the chair, and smiled at Yan Zhusheng: "Listen to this song."
With that, Li Luo paused for a moment, then his fingers began to play the guitar.
A calm, serene melody slowly flowed from his fingertips.
As the rhythm built, Li Luo softly sang: "If you're the firework over the sea~"
"I'm the foam of the waves~"
"At one moment, your light illuminated me~"
Yan Zhusheng listened to the new song coming from Li Luo's lips, his eyes gradually brightening, swaying gently with the music, sinking deeper into the beautiful dream Li Luo wove.
……
In the evening, after dinner with Ying Chanxi and Xu Youyu, Yan Zhusheng politely took his leave and went home.
Exhausted from the afternoon, Xu Youyu stretched, trudged into the kitchen, and washed dishes with Ying Chanxi.
After finishing, she returned to her room and collapsed into bed to catch up on sleep.
Ying Chanxi took out the clothes that had been washed in the washing machine during dinner and carried them to the balcony to dry.
The next moment, she stared in surprise at Li Luo resting on the living room sofa and asked: "Did the sun rise in the west? Why are you washing your own sheets?"
"I had nothing to do this afternoon, so I tidied up." Li Luo coughed twice and replied.
"You're showing some improvement." Ying Chanxi snorted, then patted Li Luo's shoulder. "Mind if I use your computer? Are you going back to your room?"
"Go ahead. I'll stay in the living room a bit longer." Li Luo said, then stood up and returned to his room to retrieve the notebook Yan Zhusheng had lent him.
Ying Chanxi didn't notice, walked straight into Li Luo's room, and began carefully editing her video.
But Li Luo had not yet returned to the bedroom, leaving her feeling a bit bored.
When it was nearly eight in the evening, after finishing editing one MV scene, Ying Chanxi stood up and walked out.
Then she saw Li Luo.
And before him, on the desk, the notebook computer.
"... Where did this notebook come from?" Ying Chanxi walked over, bewildered, asking.
"Oh, this?" Li Luo confessed honestly. "It's borrowed from Yan Zhusheng."
"Huh?" Ying Chanxi froze, her gaze silently fixed on the notebook, speechless.
In the end, Pikachu bore it all.
