Chapter 529: I Am Her Boyfriend

~12 min read 2,246 words

August 28th, Sunday.

Yesterday and today were the registration days for first-year freshmen at Qianjiang University.

Although students from other grades had not yet returned for the semester, the student union and volunteers responsible for new student registration had all arrived at school early.

In the dormitory area of Qianjiang University, in Room 213 of Qingxi Dormitory, Jiang Feiya was lying on her bed, instructing a boy below: "Just put it there."

"Let me help you tidy up the desk," said the boy below, sporting a trendy hairstyle with his high forehead exposed, smiling ingratiatingly as he hurriedly tidied the cluttered desk.

As he tidied, the boy said, "I bought four bubble teas—Xiao Ya, you can hand them out to your roommates."

"Mm," Jiang Feiya replied casually, glancing toward the other two beds.

Their dorm had bunk beds with desks underneath, accommodating four people total, but besides her, only two had arrived so far—one roommate hadn't shown up yet.

Jiang Feiya was the second to arrive; she had taken over this bed, which had previously been occupied, positioning it farthest from the bathroom and closest to the balcony.

She now turned her eyes toward the bed near the bathroom and said to the girl slumped on the chair: "Xie Xiuying, pick your own drink."

"No no no," the girl on the chair responded with an instant flinch at hearing her name, straightening her back and waving her hands frantically, "I—I don't drink bubble tea."

Xie Xiuying was plain and unassuming, the kind of girl who vanished into a crowd without leaving a trace.

Her clothes were worn-out but clean, not dirty at all.

Clearly her family was tight on money—they hadn't even bought her a decent new outfit for college.

Jiang Feiya frowned at Xie Xiuying's refusal, displeased, and turned to the boy below: "Song Yu, I want bubble tea."

"Here, I'll get it for you," Song Yu instantly reacted, pulling a bubble tea from the bag and handing it up to her bed, "Your favorite."

Jiang Feiya glanced at the sticky note on the cup listing the toppings and nodded slightly in satisfaction: "Give one to each of my roommates too."

"Got it," Song Yu nodded immediately, took two more bubble teas, placed one on Xie Xiuying's desk, and handed the other toward the opposite table.

"Thanks!" The tall, cheerful girl across the room accepted it with a grin, though her expression turned slightly resigned once she turned back around.

After all, no one wanted a boy lingering in their girls' dorm.

No one knew how Song Yu had slipped in—he'd knocked on the door, then barged right in the next second, showing zero manners.

If he weren't apparently the boyfriend of the girl across the room, Zhao Letian probably would've already blown up.

Jiang Feiya, lying on her bed sipping her bubble tea, clearly didn't care about her roommates' moods.

The girl next to her, Xie Xiuying, seemed timid, having come from a rural area in the southwest.

She posed no threat whatsoever.

Jiang Feiya thought this, then turned her gaze to Zhao Letian across the room.

Zhao Letian was currently sipping her bubble tea with her back turned, but even seated, her tall figure was impossible to miss.

Jiang Feiya estimated Zhao Letian was at least 1.7 meters tall, possibly 1.75.

For a girl, that height was already a bit excessive.

Many 1.8-meter-tall men would look shorter standing beside a 1.75-meter-tall woman.

And Zhao Letian was also quite good-looking.

But her features leaned masculine, giving her a tomboyish air—combined with her height, she was certainly less popular than Jiang Feiya.

As Jiang Feiya pondered this, her gaze settled on the empty bed opposite hers.

The last roommate hadn't arrived yet; no one knew what she looked like.

Jiang Feiya touched her own face, eager to confirm the dorm's beauty ranking—as if that would somehow give her more confidence in college life.

At this moment, Song Yu had already cleaned her desk completely.

Seeing nothing else to do, he asked again: "Xiao Ya, has your dorm been cleaned? Should I mop the floor for you?"

At these words, Zhao Letian across the room immediately frowned, her expression darkening.

How dare this guy be so brazen? Doesn't he know this is a girls' dorm?

If he were some roommate's father, fine.

Parents helping clean up a bit? Understandable.

But you're just a boyfriend—why are you butting in?

Besides, does this floor even need cleaning?

Zhao Letian had already done a full cleaning herself the moment she arrived yesterday after registration.

The dorm was spotless—no extra cleaning was needed at all.

This guy just wanted to linger here, spending more time with Jiang Feiya.

Realizing this, Zhao Letian felt exasperated and was about to speak when a knock came at the door.

The next second, the sound of a key turning in the lock echoed.

After the door opened, a male voice came from outside.

"Youyu, go in first and see if your roommates are free—if not, I won't come in."

"Got it," the girl called Youyu replied, then stepped inside and greeted everyone, "Hi~ How's it going?"

But as soon as she spoke, Xu Youyu noticed the boy inside and froze: "Who's this?"

"Y-you… hello… hello…" Song Yu froze the moment he saw Xu Youyu.

He'd thought Jiang Feiya was already stunning—rarely seen as a beauty at Bai Lu High School.

But who could've imagined that at Qianjiang University, in the same dorm, he'd meet a girl even prettier than Jiang Feiya?

And it wasn't just beauty… Song Yu couldn't help letting his gaze drift downward, but then remembered Jiang Feiya was right above him—he quickly looked away, muttering silently: "Sinful, sinful."

"I'm… I'm…" Song Yu wanted to say he was Jiang Feiya's boyfriend, but feared she'd get angry—he couldn't figure out how to introduce himself.

Jiang Feiya spoke up first, squinting at Xu Youyu and saying: "He's my high school classmate, came to deliver bubble tea—Song Yu. Where's the fourth one?"

"Oh, oh, right here!" Song Yu hurriedly picked up the last bubble tea and handed it to Xu Youyu, "Xiao Ya bought this for everyone—here you go."

"Thank you," Xu Youyu smiled as she accepted it, then scanned the room to confirm all roommates were properly dressed before waving toward the door, "Come in."

【61】 All eyes in the dorm turned curiously toward the doorway as Xu Youyu spoke.

The next moment, a tall, handsome 1.8-meter guy walked in from the door, dragging a suitcase in one hand and carrying a large bag filled with bedding in the other, heading straight for Xu Youyu's bed.

"Hello." Li Luo smiled slightly, politely greeting the others, then set down his suitcase and placed the bag on the top bunk.

"Who's this?" Song Yu's gaze shifted between Xu Youyu and Li Luo, unable to suppress her curiosity.

The girl before her was stunningly beautiful—her features delicate, her skin fair and soft, especially those eyes, alluring and luminous, not to mention her figure.

Yet this very girl had brought a boy into the dorm on the first day of school, which meant their relationship was more than ordinary.

Unlike Song Yu, who had merely slipped in during enrollment, wheedling her way past the dorm supervisor by begging and pleading.

She had to register her name, class, student ID, phone number, and leave the dorm within ten minutes.

"Him?" Xu Youyu smirked mischievously and winked at Li Luo.

"I'm her boyfriend," Li Luo noticed her glance, sighed slightly but still gave a brief introduction: "I'm Li Luo. Please look after her during your time here."

No mistake in a single word, a single character, a single detail!

Xu Youyu seemed delighted, immediately holding out the milk tea she'd just sipped twice to Li Luo's lips.

Li Luo instinctively sucked in two sips without thinking anything of it.

But to Song Yu watching across the room, it left her utterly speechless.

After drinking the milk tea, Li Luo glanced around, nodded to Xu Youyu's three roommates as a second greeting, then pointed at the bed and said to Xu Youyu: "You'll have to tidy this up yourself."

"Aren't you helping me?" Xu Youyu glared at him.

"Your mom told me that in college you have to learn to take care of yourself," Li Luo chuckled. "Carrying your luggage was already breaking the rules."

"You listen to your mom?" Xu Youyu grumbled, then tugged his hand and pouted: "Just help me make the bed, okay?"

"Your roommates are right here—aren't you embarrassed? Do it yourself," Li Luo rolled his eyes. "I'm leaving now. Good luck with military training. Call me if you need anything."

"Hmph." Xu Youyu huffed, but showed no anger—instead, she wrapped her arms around his and walked him all the way to the door.

The others watched the couple banter, falling into silence.

Xie Xiuying dared not listen further, burying her head in her book.

Zhao Letian was speechless, thinking how everyone was bringing boys into the dorm, but at least this new guy was polite—he'd made his girlfriend check if it was okay before entering.

Jiang Feiya lay on her bed with half-lidded eyes, staring at Xu Youyu's face, then drawn to her chest, gazing for a long while.

Song Yu, meanwhile, wore an expression of envy.

From their conversation, it seemed the boy had already met the girl's mother right after entering college, and they were clearly close.

Song Yu felt envious; seeing the boyfriend's straightforward departure, she didn't dare linger, bid farewell to Jiang Feiya, then boldly added a few reminders to call anytime, and hurried off.

Following behind the couple, Song Yu watched Xu Youyu escort Li Luo all the way to the stairwell, even kissing his cheek—she sighed inwardly.

She didn't dare hope for a girlfriend as beautiful as Xu Youyu; she'd just be glad if Jiang Feiya ever kissed her like that.

Thinking this, Song Yu quickened her pace, caught up with Li Luo, and cheerfully slapped his shoulder: "Hi, classmate, you're Li Luo, right? I'm Song Yu."

"Oh, hi," Li Luo glanced at the love-struck guy and gave a half-hearted reply.

He hadn't gone inside, but he'd heard their conversation.

This guy hadn't even won over Xu Youyu's dorm roommate yet—he was still in the "licking" phase.

"Which college are you from? I'm a freshman in Finance and Management," Song Yu pressed on, eager to connect.

In his mind, since this guy was Xu Youyu's boyfriend, he'd inevitably be invited to future group outings with the dorm.

If he could build a relationship with Li Luo, get to know him, become close—it might be useful.

Li Luo looked at Song Yu. He'd planned to tell the truth, but then remembered that if Xu Youyu's boyfriend turned out to be a high school student, it might reflect poorly on her—so he shifted his gaze and smiled: "I'm a sophomore in Computer Science."

"Oh, so you're Senior Li," Song Yu smiled warmly, pulling out his phone. "Can we add WeChat? Xiao Ya had some computer questions for me—I could ask you for advice."

"Sure," Li Luo didn't mind, pulled out his phone, added him, and parted ways.

As he left Qianjiang University, Li Luo made sure to reinforce his persona by sending Xu Youyu a message explaining what had just happened.

At that moment, Xu Youyu had just finished making her bed and collapsed from exhaustion.

Then, the seemingly shyest one, Xie Xiuying, timidly asked the others: "The counselor said there's a class meeting this evening—should we go together?"

"Let's eat dinner first," Zhao Letian said, turning to Xu Youyu's neighboring bed. "I'm Zhao Letian, this is Xie Xiuying, she's Jiang Feiya—what's your name?"

Zhao Letian was straightforward, saying exactly what she thought without beating around the bush.

Xu Youyu poked her head out from her bed, glanced at Zhao Letian, then looked at the other two girls and smiled: "I'm Xu Youyu. Shall we go eat now?"

"Fine," Jiang Feiya nodded coolly, glancing at Xu Youyu, about to say something—when Xu Youyu spoke again.

"There's a hot pot place nearby—I have a discount coupon, and if I don't use it soon, it'll expire," Xu Youyu beamed. "Since it's our first meeting, I'll treat everyone. Let's go eat, then head to the class meeting."

Hearing this, Jiang Feiya, who had been planning to treat everyone to show off, was speechless—her words stuck in her throat.

Xie Xiuying, meanwhile, felt embarrassed and whispered: "N-no need… I'll just eat in the cafeteria."

"What's the big deal?" Zhao Letian threw an arm around Xie Xiuying's neck. "Come on—next time someone else pays."

Xu Youyu glanced at Xie Xiuying and smiled: "My coupon includes free ingredients—we four girls won't eat much. It'll cost about the same as eating in the cafeteria."

Hearing this, Zhao Letian suddenly realized something, glanced at Xie Xiuying beside her, and added hastily: "If your living allowance is tight, you don't have to come."

"I—I didn't mean that…" Xie Xiuying flushed crimson and waved her hands frantically.

Xu Youyu gave Zhao Letian a look of exasperation, then said: "We're college students, not inviting bosses to dinner—why so many rules? I'm just craving hot pot, haven't had any in ages, and this is just an excuse to treat myself."

With that, she called the other three to leave the dorm and headed toward the Sichuan-Chongqing Old Hot Pot on Xijie.
