Chapter 685: Want to Sleep With You
On the final day of military training, there will be a summary performance, where regular classes form up to march in precise steps and such.
Beyond that, there are many special formations and groups requiring students to sign up voluntarily, or for instructors to select them from the ranks.
Among them, the choir is one such special group, overseen by the Music College, which will perform two military songs during the military training performance.
Yan Zhusheng wasn't particularly interested in choir singing, and she didn't mind the intensity of the military training—she wasn't some weakling like Xu Youyu.
But her reputation was already established, and with Yuan Wanqing's private request, the Music College instructors treated Yan Zhusheng with extra care.
So Yan Zhusheng was still selected for the choir.
Besides the two hours of morning and two hours of afternoon routine military training, Yan Zhusheng had to spend all other time in the choir room practicing.
As for Shen Zhaoyin, she voluntarily signed up after learning Yan Zhusheng had been chosen, and was ultimately selected by the instructor.
With a companion, Yan Zhusheng no longer particularly resisted the arrangement and followed Shen Zhaoyin to the choir room to join the practice.
During breaks, the two chatted idly, now and then.
"How did you and Chongran meet in high school?"
"We were desk partners on the first day of freshman year."
"So when did you fall for him?"
"I don't remember." Yan Zhusheng thought back. "By the time I realized it, I already loved him deeply."
"Then when did you two get together?"
"We've always been together."
"I mean… when did you officially become a couple?"
"What counts as officially being a couple?"
"Like… confessing to each other or something?"
"Hmm… maybe during Gao Er?" Yan Zhusheng frowned. "Or maybe after high school graduation."
"How can that still be uncertain?"
"You wouldn't understand." Yan Zhusheng shook her head. "But I kissed him during Gao Er."
"... That still doesn't count as officially being a couple?" Shen Zhaoyin fell silent, then added softly, "Are you afraid your mom will find out? Or is dating forbidden in your high school?"
Yan Zhusheng thought for a while, then turned to look at Shen Zhaoyin with a puzzled expression: "Why are you talking so much today?"
Asked this, Shen Zhaoyin's face changed instantly; she lowered her head, looking guilty, and whispered, "It's just the two of us here—I'm just trying to find something to talk about."
"Oh." Yan Zhusheng nodded, not thinking much of it.
At that moment, a figure suddenly appeared at the choir room door.
Before the person could speak, Yan Zhusheng's eyes lit up; she instantly rose from her seat and sprinted toward the door.
Shen Zhaoyin looked up at the door, and when Li Luo's figure came into view, her face brightened with anticipation.
Will he hug her?
Shen Zhaoyin silently prayed, watching Yan Zhusheng run closer.
Unfortunately, Li Luo sidestepped, gave a subtle gesture, and led Yan Zhusheng out to the corridor outside the classroom.
Shen Zhaoyin felt a pang of disappointment but didn't dare follow to spy, so she stayed inside the room, waiting quietly.
"Why did you come?" Yan Zhusheng trailed behind Li Luo until they reached the staircase landing, where he finally turned around—she could no longer hold back and threw herself into his arms.
"I brought you some drinks." Li Luo wrapped his arms around Yan Zhusheng's waist and lifted the milk tea in his hand. "There are two more here—for you and Shen Zhaoyin."
"I missed you." Yan Zhusheng buried her head in Li Luo's chest, nuzzling affectionately, clinging tightly.
Since the physical examination ended two days ago, Yan Zhusheng hadn't seen Li Luo—nearly two full days had passed.
Just two short days apart, and Yan Zhusheng had turned into a clingy little kitten, constantly burrowing into Li Luo's arms, refusing to let go.
"Let's keep it low-key on campus—I don't want to be trending tomorrow." Li Luo carried Yan Zhusheng up the stairs and stopped at the landing between the fourth and fifth floors.
"What's the harm?" Yan Zhusheng blinked, refusing to release him.
"You know Youyu-jie is my official girlfriend now." Li Luo whispered in her ear. "If this goes viral, wouldn't I be done for?"
"Oh…" Yan Zhusheng nodded lightly, slightly unhappy. "If I'd known it'd turn out like this, I never would've gone singing with Mom."
Li Luo: "..."
Yan Zhusheng's train of thought was sometimes bizarrely odd, yet always managed to unintentionally strike a nerve in Li Luo.
Most girls, even if they reluctantly accepted this situation, would at least be upset about not having the proper status.
But Yan Zhusheng was upset because her rising fame from performing with Yuan Wanqing made it harder for her to openly flaunt her relationship with Li Luo.
Where could you even argue that?
"How long is your break?" Li Luo held Yan Zhusheng and asked softly.
"Fifteen minutes each time." Yan Zhusheng's arms slowly wound around Li Luo's neck; sensing the time was short, she stopped talking, rose slightly on her toes, and pressed her lips to his.
It had been two days since they last saw each other.
Yan Zhusheng kissed him passionately, unconsciously pushing him against the wall.
She was tall—172 cm—with long legs pressed between his, her entire body pressing against him; with just a slight lift of her toes, she could easily kiss him.
Unlike Ying Chanxi, who was tiny—even when she stretched every inch, Li Luo still had to bend down to kiss her.
The two kissed fiercely in the middle of the stairwell corner.
If you listened closely, you could hear faint panting and the sticky sound of lips and teeth meeting.
Several minutes passed, and they still refused to part, lost in the moment.
Until Shen Zhaoyin's voice came from the fourth-floor stairwell entrance.
"The teacher's calling for people."
Hearing this, the two instantly pulled apart.
Li Luo turned to look down at Shen Zhaoyin and cleared his throat awkwardly.
It's kind of embarrassing to be seen in such an intimate moment.
"Good morning," Li Luo said, lifting the milk tea in his hand. "I bought this for you and Zhusheng."
"Oh, thanks," Shen Zhaoyin said, reaching out to take the milk tea as she watched the two walking down holding hands.
Yan Zhusheng glanced at her roommate and asked skeptically, "Did you just come looking for us?" "Yeah…" Shen Zhaoyin avoided Yan Zhusheng's gaze, guiltily slipping in the straw and taking a sip of milk tea to hide her expression.
After taking a sip, her face returned to its usual cold, aloof demeanor, showing no trace of the earlier bright-eyed gaze she'd had while secretly watching them kiss.
"Then I'll be off," Li Luo said, seeing them to the classroom door and preparing to leave.
But Yan Zhusheng grabbed his sleeve, glanced left and right to confirm no one else was in the corridor, then couldn't resist launching herself into Li Luo's arms again for another kiss.
"Alright, alright," Li Luo said after being kissed unexpectedly, pinching her cheek and patting her head, then leaning down to peck her thin lips. "Go on, I'm leaving."
"Mm," Yan Zhusheng nodded obediently, finally watching Li Luo depart with reluctant reluctance.
Shen Zhaoyin stared fixedly at their parting interaction, thoroughly enjoying the sight.
…
For ordinary classmates, military training was especially grueling.
But for Li Luo, military training passed quite quickly.
Every morning from six to nine was regular training time, with a breakfast break in between.
From then until 11:30, it was the Political Work Group's working hours.
But for Li Luo, the workload of the Political Work Group was extremely light—he finished all his paperwork tasks in just a few minutes.
From one to three in the afternoon was again regular training time, which even Political Work Group members couldn't avoid.
Then from three to 5:30, it was again Political Work Group working hours.
Evening training, by contrast, was relatively easier and hardly tiring at all.
So Li Luo's military training life was quite pleasant.
He spent just a few minutes each day finishing his paperwork; the rest of his work hours were entirely his own time to slack off.
Every day he bought milk tea, drinks, or fruit, went to Ying Chanxi's class to show off, then wandered over to the Music College to cuddle with Yan Zhusheng.
If time allowed, he'd stay to watch the choir practice, then wait for the next break to be dragged by Yan Zhusheng to a stairwell corner for another kiss.
He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but Shen Zhaoyin, who had volunteered to keep watch for them, seemed to really enjoy secretly watching them kiss.
But Li Luo didn't really mind.
On the other hand, Ying Chanxi, after the third day of military training, signed up for the military fist drill formation—and even got selected.
Probably because she was the provincial top scorer.
Later, Li Luo deliberately chose a time when the military fist drill team trained, went over to take a look, and couldn't help laughing as he watched Ying Chanxi's two tiny fists swing with fierce energy.
"Is this even useful?" During a break, Li Luo twisted open the cap of the drink he'd brought and handed it to Ying Chanxi, teasing with a grin.
"Of course it's useful," Ying Chanxi huffed, took two sips, then punched him. "I'm pretty strong now."
Li Luo felt absolutely nothing from Ying Chanxi's tiny fist pounding his chest.
The military fist drill had turned her into something barely different from a thug doing an excited punch.
"No training tonight—every college has club recruitment," Li Luo said. "What are you planning?"
"I'll probably join the Secretariat?" Ying Chanxi mused. "There's a senior there I got along with well—I think it's nice."
"So it's already decided?" Li Luo chuckled. "No wonder you're the provincial top scorer."
"Hmph, how dare you talk about me?" Ying Chanxi shot him a glance. "You're definitely going to the External Relations Department, right? Your senior must've already arranged it for you."
"Probably," Li Luo didn't hide it, nodding with a smile. "If you can take the back door, why bother working hard?"
Ying Chanxi had no objection to this.
She'd come to accept it now—better for Xu Youyu to keep an eye on him in the Literature College than for Li Luo to keep attracting bees and butterflies around campus.
"If you can take the back door, then tonight's club recruitment shouldn't take you long, right?" Ying Chanxi asked eagerly.
"Probably," Li Luo nodded. "Youyu-jie is already the deputy head of her second-year department—handling something this small is quick."
"Then… then…" Ying Chanxi grew shy, but finally forced herself to whisper, "Can we… go home together after I'm done?"
"Oh?" Li Luo smiled at this, pulling Ying Chanxi into his arms and whispering in her ear, "Going home to do what? We're still in military training—it's not really appropriate."
"I—I just want to go home and take a shower," Ying Chanxi said, her face flushing despite her recent progress; she still had her old habit of saying one thing but meaning another.
"Can't you shower in the dorm?" Li Luo glanced at her. "You haven't showered yet?"
"You're the one who hasn't showered!" Ying Chanxi gave him a punch, annoyed. "It's just that after evening training we're all exhausted, and roommates need to shower too, so we all rush through it."
"If you go home to shower, you can wash properly."
"And wash your military uniform too."
"The washing machines are used by too many people—I've been hand-washing lately, but I think it's better to use the washing machine at home."
"I see," Li Luo sighed. "I thought you wanted to spend more time with me—guess I overthought it. Then go home alone tonight to shower and wash clothes."
"No…" Ying Chanxi froze at his words, quickly grabbing his arm and pleading, "I didn't say I only wanted to go home to shower and wash clothes—I also… I also…"
"What else?" Li Luo raised an eyebrow, gently coaxing. "If you don't say it, how am I supposed to know what you mean?"
"Also…," Ying Chanxi lowered her head, blushing furiously, her cheeks burning as she whispered beside him, "I want to sleep with you. I won't go back to the dorm tonight."
"I didn't quite catch that," Li Luo pretended to dig in his ear, leaning closer. "Say it again?"
"You definitely heard it!" Ying Chanxi puffed out her cheeks, shaking his arm hard. "Stop pretending you didn't hear! You're always picking on me!"
"I really didn't hear," Li Luo grinned. "Say it again—clearly—and I'll go home with you."
Ying Chanxi had no choice but to lean close to his ear, blushing, and whisper: "I want to sleep with you."
"Whoa, you want to sleep with me…" Li Luo feigned surprise, then suddenly shouted loudly.
Ying Chanxi was terrified, quickly clamping her hand over his mouth, glancing left and right to confirm no one had heard, then letting out a breath of relief.
"Why'd you shout so loud?!"
"You're just too cute," Li Luo pinched her cheek and smiled. "You really want to sleep with me that much?"
"I don't!"
"Then I'm not going back."
"Aww~" Ying Chanxi tugged at Li Luo's sleeve, pouting in flustered annoyance, but finally gave in, leaning into his arms and murmuring softly, "I just want to sleep with you—we haven't slept together in so long."
