Chapter 730: Is This the Master Bedroom?
After finishing breakfast, the six of them went downstairs together.
Li Guohong drove and picked up Lin Xiuhong.
Li Luo drove with Ying Chanxi and the other two; the six of them headed toward Tianlu Yayuan.
In just a few minutes, the two cars passed through Ningshan Avenue in front of the south gate of Qianjiang University and arrived at the western foot of Ningshan.
They drove in through the underground parking entrance of Tianlu Yayuan and reached the basement-level entrance of villa A08.
Each villa has its own dedicated garage spot, and additionally, one can rent or buy parking spaces in the opposite public area.
Besides the dedicated spot, Li Luo also bought five more spots across the way—more than enough for their parking needs.
After getting out of the car, Li Luo led the group up the stairs from the basement entrance.
Butler Liu, who had been waiting there, smiled and greeted them, opening the door for them.
As they stepped inside, the warmly decorated basement level came into view.
During the renovation, Ying Chanxi primarily made the decisions, Butler Liu handled implementation, and everyone else only offered their own opinions and requests based on Ying Chanxi's finalized plans.
As for the design style, it followed Ying Chanxi's vision entirely—modern minimalist with natural wood tones, in light, cheerful hues dominated by white, yellow, and orange.
Under the lighting, combined with minimalist decor and the fact that most large furniture had yet to be installed, stepping inside instantly felt bright, comfortable, and spacious.
Since Li Luo and the others disliked ornate chandeliers, Ying Chanxi designed a no-main-light setup, with soft, non-glaring lighting.
After everyone had entered, Butler Liu began the tour: "On the left after entering, this stretch leads to the fitness area planned by Mr. Li."
"In the right corner is the maid's utility room and laundry room, with a skylight at the end for drying clothes."
"On rainy days when you can't dry clothes on the rooftop, you can use this area instead."
Saying this, Butler Liu led them past the fitness area, through the stairwell, and deeper inside.
"The bar counter was built to these dimensions, modified according to Miss Xu's later suggestions."
Butler Liu stood behind the bar and said, "Below can hold wine cabinets and refrigerators to meet Miss Xu's occasional need to mix cocktails."
"The large open space directly opposite the bar, per Mr. Li's request, is reserved for a future pool table."
"Of course, it can be used for other purposes too—this space is ample, entirely up to your preferences."
"Does Youyu even drink cocktails?" Lin Xiuhong asked, surprised.
Hearing this, Xu Youyu felt slightly guilty, then whispered, "Cocktails aren't strong—they're like drinks, very tasty. I only have one occasionally."
Li Guohong found this quite interesting: "Then next time, mix one for me and your aunt? I've never had a cocktail before."
"Sure," Xu Youyu replied with a smile, finally relaxing now that her uncle and aunt didn't seem to mind.
"Is the pool table really necessary?" Lin Xiuhong asked again. "With all this space, wouldn't you rather use it for something else?"
"I think it's fine," Li Guohong said. "Playing pool occasionally is still exercise."
"Youyu doesn't exercise much anyway. Pool isn't very strenuous—later, have Li Luo and the others drag you to play more, just for exercise."
As he spoke, Li Guohong subtly tugged Lin Xiuhong's sleeve.
Watching Butler Liu lead them to the elevator, Li Guohong whispered to Lin Xiuhong: "This place is mainly for them to live in—why are you meddling? What matters most is that the young ones are happy living here."
"I understand…" Lin Xiuhong, reminded, realized her mistake and nodded silently.
At that moment, Butler Liu had opened the elevator door and invited them in, but remained outside: "This home elevator is already quite large for its size—it can hold five or six people at once."
"I'll go up to the first floor by stairs."
Saying this, Butler Liu watched the elevator doors close, then took the stairs to the first floor to greet Li Luo and the others.
Stepping out of the elevator, the view suddenly opened up.
Compared to the basement, the first floor felt grander and much more spacious.
Upon exiting the elevator, the dining room and kitchen were on the left.
A large round table here didn't feel cramped—it fit perfectly.
Further back was a very large kitchen, twice the size of the already spacious one at Bihai Lanting.
Four or five people could cook here simultaneously without feeling crowded.
After entering the kitchen, Lin Xiuhong nodded in satisfaction: "I like this kitchen—it suits me perfectly."
Li Luo had high standards for the kitchen.
Although the maid could cook daily, he could also cook himself when the mood struck.
Ying Chanxi and the others clearly preferred Li Luo's home-cooked meals.
After leaving the kitchen and dining room, they arrived at the living room.
The entire living room was two or three times larger than the dining room.
Especially now, with the TV on the wall and the sofa and coffee table still uninstalled, it looked even more open.
Butler Liu promptly pulled out a tablet and showed them some high-quality furniture options.
Ying Chanxi had already picked a set according to her taste, but hadn't bought it yet—she'd only finalized the dimensions and planned to let everyone choose together on-site.
After some thought and finalizing the options, Xu Youyu's gaze landed on the wall opposite the TV.
"Is this the guest bedroom?" Xu Youyu glanced down the hallway. "Two guest rooms—so nothing else needs to go in front of this wall?"
"Typically, you could place a screen, cabinet, or similar furniture here," Butler Liu suggested. "This area faces the main entrance and dining room."
"If there's nothing to block the view, guests entering the door can see straight into the kitchen—bad feng shui."
"Of course, the final decision depends on your preferences."
"What if…" Xu Youyu's eyes lit up, smiling at Li Luo, "we put the cat villa here? We talked about building one before—I think it'd fit perfectly here."
"Not too close to the entrance—move it over here."
As she spoke, Xu Youyu stepped back to the wall beside the hallway entrance and gestured back and forth.
"Otherwise, if we put the sofa over there, this area is too empty—it feels wide enough for seven or eight people to walk side by side."
"It's possible," Li Luo nodded. "But I thought you'd put the cat house on the third or fourth floor."
"Third or fourth floor isn't out of the question—this one can be a backup." Xu Youyu said. "We'll go up and take another look later."
"Fine."
As the two discussed this, Lin Xiuhong and Li Guohong grew confused.
"What are you talking about—cat nests and cat villas?" Lin Xiuhong asked in surprise. "Are you planning to keep cats?"
"Aunt Lin, it's like this." Ying Chanxi walked over to Lin Xiuhong's side, linking arms with her as she explained, "We just adopted four little kittens from Qianjiang University." She then laid out the full story.
Lin Xiuhong had never really approved of keeping cats at home—she thought they were too noisy, hard to clean up after, and likely to damage furniture.
But as Ying Chanxi's soft, sweet voice whispered beside her ear, and her arm was warmly wrapped around Lin Xiuhong's, the older woman's resistance gradually melted.
Recalling Li Guohong's earlier advice to her, Lin Xiuhong's attitude softened. She nodded and said, "Then you must be careful—don't let the cats run wild all over the house."
"Mm-hmm, that's exactly why we're looking for a dedicated space to keep them—we won't let them out normally." Ying Chanxi smiled in assurance.
After touring the first floor, the group of six exited through the front door and stepped into the front courtyard.
The front courtyards of Tianlu Yayuan villas are all quite small—barely enough space to park a car.
Add to that the skylight for the basement level beside the steps, and there's barely room for a stone path connecting to the back courtyard.
In contrast, the back courtyard is much more spacious—at least half the area of the first floor.
Following Ying Chanxi's original plan and later suggestions from Li Luo, Butler Liu hired a professional landscaping team to build a natural ecological fish pond in the southwest corner, flanked by concealed rockeries and a pavilion.
Just one glance brought instant peace.
The eastern courtyard, however, remained untouched—Li Luo suggested leaving it as-is for when elderly family members might want to garden in their spare time.
So in the end, they simply laid down grass, added a few benches, and hung a swing for decoration.
After admiring the back courtyard, the group returned to the first floor and took the elevator to the second.
The massive study on this floor was already finished, though the desk, bookshelves, and other furnishings still awaited Xu Youyu's selection.
But the space was undeniably large enough.
Li Luo, Ying Chanxi, and Yan Zhusheng could each place a desk here—future work needs would be easily handled in this dedicated space.
Near the window stood a huge floor-to-ceiling window.
Xu Youyu walked to the window and looked outside—immediately, she felt refreshed and uplifted.
Looking down, she could see the rockeries and fish pond in the back courtyard—utterly serene.
"This is exactly the feeling," Xu Youyu couldn't help exclaiming. "This is where you should write."
"If you write here, can you write more every day?" Li Luo teased with a smile.
"Cough, cough." Xu Youyu coughed twice at this. "Don't ruin the mood."
After leaving the study, everyone moved to Ying Chanxi's personal collection room.
The various display cabinets here had already been designed by Ying Chanxi during the renovation.
So now, the room was finished and partially filled.
But some space remained empty—Ying Chanxi hadn't yet decided what to place there, so she wasn't in a hurry to customize more cabinets.
Besides that, the second floor had two guest bedrooms, neither yet furnished with beds, wardrobes, or other large items.
After all, the house rarely hosted many guests; Li Luo and the others hadn't yet decided whether to keep these rooms as guest bedrooms or repurpose them.
Like cat villas.
Placing them on the second floor would actually be quite suitable.
When they reached the third floor, it was the private bedrooms of Li Luo and the other three.
Lin Xiuhong and Li Guohong first toured the bedrooms of Xu Youyu and the other two girls—everything was standard.
Aside from the rooms being slightly larger than those at Bihai Lanting and the decor matching their personal tastes better, there was nothing particularly surprising.
But the moment they stepped into Li Luo's master bedroom, they both nearly lost their composure.
Since the master bedroom had been designed early on, all the furniture was already in place.
As Li Guohong and Lin Xiuhong entered the room, they passed through a very large walk-in closet, turned a corner—and were met by an enormous bed.
Lin Xiuhong would bet the market had no bed this size.
Unless custom-made, no manufacturer would ever design a bed like this.
Li Guohong walked to the bed, his expression complex. He estimated its width with his eyes—it was at least three meters wide.
The length was normal—just over two meters.
Hmm… two meters long, three meters wide?
Something felt off.
Li Guohong twitched his lips, unsure what to say.
But the next second, he heard Lin Xiuhong's cry.
"Why did you make the bathroom this big?!"
Li Guohong hurried over to look—and fell into long silence.
The bathroom's area was noticeably larger than the guest bedroom on the first floor.
To the right upon entering was a standard sink with twin basins on either side.
Further inside, two smart toilets were hidden behind walls, along with a very large shower area.
How to put it?
In ordinary homes, corner showers barely fit one person.
A typical rectangular shower could just manage two.
But Li Luo's master bathroom? It could comfortably hold four people.
Even more absurdly, to the left of the shower stood a massive hot spring pool!
Though smaller than the hot spring in the villa they'd stayed in during their trip to Qiongzhou City, it was still substantial.
Anyway, seating four or five people inside would definitely not feel cramped.
Seeing this, Li Guohong and Lin Xiuhong exchanged a glance, no longer harboring the slightest doubt about their son's ambitions.
As for Ying Chanxi and the three young girls, they had not a single objection.
"Isn't this a bit too brazen?" Lin Xiuhong leaned close to Li Guohong's ear and whispered, "I already made plans with Su Ling that when Li Luo and the others move in, we'll come here for a meal—to celebrate the housewarming."
"What if they come upstairs to take a look and see this scene…"
"Cough, cough…" Li Guohong cleared his throat twice; just imagining the scene made him struggle to keep composure. "When the boat reaches the bridge, it'll find its way—let your son handle it himself. I'm done."
