Chapter 732: It

~11 min read 2,163 words

After appreciating the third-floor bedroom's charm, Lin Xiuhong and Li Guohong were no longer surprised by anything else.

After leaving the third floor, the group arrived at the fourth floor.

This area looked much more normal, primarily consisting of rooms prepared for Yan Zhusheng.

A professional recording studio, and a piano room with excellent natural lighting.

Since both rooms had excellent soundproofing, Li Luo simply placed the mahjong room and karaoke room beside them, soundproofed at a slightly lower standard.

This way, there was no need to worry about disturbing neighbors.

Yan Zhusheng was clearly very satisfied with the recording studio and piano room; after carefully touring the rooms, he was already planning which equipment to purchase next.

This recording studio had been planned from the start of renovation and was significantly more professional and upscale than the one in Yan Zhusheng's home.

Yan Zhusheng also intended to plan thoroughly, not wanting to waste it.

"This mahjong room is interesting." Lin Xiuhong was quite pleased with the fourth-floor entertainment facilities, "You can play mahjong here and sing over there—what's this long table for?"

"It's for board games," Li Luo said with a smile, "When friends come over and there are many of us, we can sit in a circle and play board games, similar to poker."

"Oh oh." Lin Xiuhong didn't quite understand these young people's things, but she remembered Li Guohong's advice and nodded twice, "Now we have a mahjong table at home—we won't need to go out anymore, just play here instead, saving money on mahjong parlor fees."

Although Li Luo wanted to say they weren't short of that little parlor booth fee, he decided against it.

After finishing the tour of the fourth floor, Butler Liu led them to the rooftop.

But when the rooftop appeared, it once again startled Li Guohong and Lin Xiuhong.

"You installed a swimming pool on the roof?!"

At the edge of the rooftop near the backyard, two lanes had been added—each three meters wide and twelve meters long—designed to create an infinity pool effect.

"To install the rooftop lanes, the base was specially reinforced to support this weight," Butler Liu explained to them, "The pool's exterior has an infinity design."

"But don't worry about water dripping into the backyard—the bottom has a water recovery system; overflow is collected at the edge."

"The pool's height above ground is 1.2 meters—this is the maximum weight limit; any higher, and even the reinforced load capacity would be exceeded."

Listening to Butler Liu's explanation, Lin Xiuhong walked to the pool's edge and peered inside.

Since Butler Liu had arranged a full-house cleaning, the entire lane now looked spotless.

"To prevent the pool from getting dirty during rain, a roof-covering system was specially designed," Butler Liu said, "On rainy days or when the pool isn't in use, you can cover it electrically."

"The installed professional pump takes about seven or eight hours to fill the pool."

"So when you plan to use the pool, just let me know about half a day in advance."

Lin Xiuhong listened, stunned; although her son had bought the villa, she had never truly thought of herself as wealthy.

Until this moment, the kind of pool only seen in TV dramas—found only in the homes of tycoons—was now right before her eyes.

And it was her own son who had bought this villa.

At this moment, she realized one thing.

Their family's status truly was different from before.

"You Yu doesn't like running; swimming is a good option for staying fit," Li Luo said with a smile, "Otherwise, when you get older and keep sitting at your desk writing, your body will develop all sorts of subhealth issues."

"I really appreciate you," Xu Youyu gave him a look, but she still liked the pool very much.

Especially the infinity design—standing at the pool's edge, you could easily see the backyard scenery.

Just imagining it made Xu Youyu feel extremely comfortable.

Besides this edge pool, the rooftop had other functions, but everyone's attention had been drawn to the pool upon arrival, and only now did they notice.

Among them, several sunshades and loungers are paired with the pool, placed beside it.

There was also an outdoor bar with a sink, counter, refrigerator, and barbecue grill built in.

When needed, you could come to the rooftop, swim, barbecue, and drink—all at once, just imagining it was wonderful.

"Swimming isn't really my thing," Xu Youyu leaned close to Li Luo's ear and teased softly, "But this rooftop is great—for example, next time we swim, we can do things we couldn't do at Qian Da Swimming Pool~"

With Xu Youyu saying that, Li Luo's heart stirred.

Unfortunately, the villa still couldn't be lived in—at least another two or three months were needed for formaldehyde to dissipate and levels to drop to safe ranges.

Fortunately, since the renovation began, Ying Chanxi had paid close attention to this, using high-quality materials leaning toward low-formaldehyde types.

So they didn't need to wait long—they could definitely move in by the end of this year.

"This area has been left open," Butler Liu pointed toward the southeast corner, "As Mr. Li instructed, if you buy a telescope or similar equipment later, you can use it here."

Li Luo patted Ying Chanxi's shoulder, indicating this space was reserved for her.

Ying Chanxi walked to the railing, already imagining the future scene: alone with Li Luo on the rooftop, using a telescope to gaze at the stars while leaning against him, doing something naughty.

Thinking of this, she felt deeply eager.

After touring the entire villa from top to bottom, the group took the elevator back to the first-floor dining room, sat around the table, and began discussing how to choose the remaining furniture.

Li Guohong and Lin Xiuhong spoke very little, leaving all decisions to Li Luo and the other young people.

As noon approached, the four of them largely finalized their choices for the remaining furniture.

Over the next two days, they further revised and adjusted some of the furniture selections.

They also settled on the location for the cat villa—placing it in the guest bedroom next to the second-floor study.

They planned to cut a hole through the wall between the guest bedroom and study to create a cat passage.

The cats could freely roam in the adjacent 20-square-meter guest bedroom without feeling cramped.

When Li Luo and the others were home, they could open the small door of the cat passage, letting the cats wander into the more spacious study.

Then they installed a barrier gate at the staircase entrance to prevent the kittens from running around uncontrollably, limiting their main activity space to the second floor.

On this basis, Li Luo had Butler Liu install two barrier gates along the two stone pathways between the front and back yards.

With this, combined with the surrounding walls, the kittens could even play in the backyard without risk of running away.

……

"Are you going out again today?" On the afternoon of the second day, Li Luo asked curiously as he saw Yan Zhusheng preparing to leave alone.

"That's right." Yan Zhusheng nodded. "Go learn to drive."

"Can you go to driving school during National Day?"

"I'm taking Subject Three after National Day," Yan Zhusheng said. "I asked my instructor for practice time and gave her overtime pay."

Li Luo: "..."

The instructor must be having a hard time too, having to work overtime during National Day—but this was probably her own choice.

Given Yan Zhusheng's personality, the overtime pay probably wasn't small.

"So if you keep going at this pace, will you get your license this month?" Li Luo asked curiously.

"Mm-hmm." Yan Zhusheng nodded. "My instructor says I'm learning fast—I'll definitely pass Subject Three after National Day, and Subject Four is easy too. I'll probably get my license by mid-month."

"Then I'll take you all to buy a car," Li Luo said with a smile. "You can start thinking about what kind you want."

"Oh." Yan Zhusheng nodded obediently, then opened the door and left.

Li Luo watched Yan Zhusheng leave, then turned to Ying Chanxi, who had just walked out of the kitchen.

Watching her place the freshly cut fruit on the coffee table, Li Luo pulled her into his arms, kissed her, and asked, "Which brand of new car do you want?"

"Mmm..." Ying Chanxi, kissed and held, went limp against him, leaning into his chest. Hearing his question, she hesitated. "You really mean to buy one?"

"That car's already given to my mom. Of course I need to buy you a new one," Li Luo said with a smile.

"What if we do this?" Ying Chanxi wrapped her arms around Li Luo's neck, her cheek pressed to his chest, whispering softly, "Is there a car you'd really like to buy for yourself?"

"Then your Audi would be free—I'll just drive that one."

"I don't know much about cars anyway. As long as I can drive, I don't need you to buy me a brand-new one."

Listening to the girl's soft, tender whisper—so considerate—he couldn't help tightening his hold.

"You're just too good at saving me money," Li Luo murmured, kissing her again. "You never think about yourself."

"Besides, isn't this Audi you're driving the one Uncle Ying gave me?"

"Now if I give it to you, what would that look like?"

"It's no big deal..." Ying Chanxi muttered quietly.

"No." Li Luo, unusually firm, pinned her onto the sofa, leaning down to look her straight in the eyes. "Little maid, listen to me. Do as I say—this time, I'm choosing you a new car."

Without giving her a chance to argue, he bent down and sealed her lips with a deep, forceful kiss, leaving her trembling and speechless.

That evening, Li Luo entered Xu Youyu's room to talk about buying a car.

"I don't need one," Xu Youyu laughed when he mentioned it. "If I really want one, I'll buy it myself—I'm not short on money."

"But this time is different," Li Luo lifted Xu Youyu up, sat on the desk chair, and placed her on his lap, wrapping his arms around her slender waist. "I just want to buy them for you."

"So bossy?" Xu Youyu grinned. "Has XiXi agreed too?"

"Mm." Li Luo nodded. "But if you join in, she won't hesitate anymore."

"You're always scheming with her," Xu Youyu rolled her eyes. "Fine, fine—my car can go to my mom. Give you a chance to show off."

"It's settled then," Li Luo smiled, standing up with her in his arms. "XiXi's cooking—I'll go help her. Dinner'll be out soon."

"Got it~ Go on, go on."

After leaving Xu Youyu's room, Li Luo sighed.

Normally, if a boyfriend wanted to spend money on his girlfriend—buying a car, say—most girls would gladly accept, even be thrilled.

But girls like Ying Chanxi and the others always think more of their partner, or prefer independence, and hate spending the guy's money.

Li Luo had already earned so much, yet what he'd actually spent on these girls was negligible.

Previously, when he bought Ying Chanxi a new car, he'd had to use buying one for Lin Xiuhong as an excuse to convince her.

In the end, Ying Chanxi and Lin Xiuhong teamed up and bought the cheapest model possible—saving him a lot.

Other guys worried their women spent too much.

Li Luo worried how to get these three girls to spend more.

Otherwise, what was the point of earning all this money?

"Done cooking," Ying Chanxi asked Li Luo, who was helping. "Has Zhusheng come back yet?"

"She said she'd be back in minutes—should be here soon." Li Luo carried the dishes out to the dining table, then returned to take off Ying Chanxi's apron and hang it on the wall.

After washing his hands, he went back into Xu Youyu's room to call her out for dinner.

Just then, Yan Zhusheng arrived home. The four gathered around the table and began eating.

"Tomorrow I'm going into the city," Li Luo said while eating. "The copyright for my new novel and screenplay has been picked up by Uncle Ying's side."

"So tomorrow I need to sign the contract at Huayue Film and Television."

"Do you want to come along and take a look?"

He turned to Yan Zhusheng and added, "Zhusheng has to come with me."

"I wrote a few songs related to this drama—I'll play them for you and Aunt Yuan."

"Oh." Yan Zhusheng nodded obediently.

Ying Chanxi quickly added, "I'm going too—I haven't seen Dad in ages. He's busy even during National Day holiday; this is a good chance to visit him."

"I won't go," Xu Youyu waved her hand. "After National Day, the stray cat management team in Qingxi is short-staffed—I need to help feed the cats."

"Alright then," Li Luo nodded, finalizing tomorrow's plan. "XiXi and Zhusheng, come with me early tomorrow."
