Chapter 800: Sister Didn
The live stream ended successfully.
When the staff confirmed the live room had been shut down and nodded to Yuan Wanqing, she finally relaxed, let out a breath, and stretched out on the sofa.
She then stood up, pulled Yan Zhusheng along, bowed slightly to the staff in the recording room, and smiled: "Thanks for your hard work tonight."
"Not hard at all, not hard at all."
Although the live stream lasted only an hour, the team had arrived at the company this morning, held meetings and preparations, then rushed to the airport to catch a flight to Yuhang City, and upon landing, hurried to Huayue Film and Television to hastily set up the live room.
They wolfed down dinner, ran through a rehearsal, then began the tense live segment—now the task was finally done, but they still had to clean up the set and retrieve the equipment.
Then they'd have to hop straight into a car, race to the airport, and catch the last flight back to Jingzhao City.
When you add it all up, this business trip was indeed exhausting.
But travel expenses were fully reimbursed by the company, overtime pay was provided, and a bonus and commission awaited a successful completion—plus, they'd finally gotten to see Yuan Wanqing in person, so no one had anything to complain about.
Especially since Yuan Wanqing, Yan Zhusheng, and even Teacher Chongran were all down-to-earth in private, with none of that arrogant, celebrity attitude looking down on others.
That made everyone feel even more comfortable.
But it didn't stop there.
After the live stream ended, assistant Xiao Xuan walked in from outside, carrying a large bag, and came to Yuan Wanqing's side.
Yuan Wanqing nodded to her, reached into the bag, pulled out two small gift boxes, and handed them to the two staff members closest to her, smiling: "You've all come such a long way—these are small gifts I prepared in advance. Please accept them."
At these words, the staff instinctively glanced at Miao Yifeng behind the monitoring console; seeing him give a slight nod, they brightened and quickly took the gift boxes from Yuan Wanqing: "Thank you, Sister Qing."
"You're welcome." Yuan Wanqing smiled and handed out a gift box to every staff member—even Miao Yifeng received one.
Miao Yifeng accepted his with a chuckle, waited until Yuan Wanqing finished distributing, then instructed everyone to hurry and pack up the equipment before leaving the recording room with Yuan Wanqing and Yan Zhusheng, heading to the adjacent lounge.
Previously, when Miao Yifeng had come to discuss collaboration with Yuan Wanqing's studio, he had met Yinjiang District's Ying Zhicheng.
Now seeing him again, the two shook hands and exchanged pleasantries; Ying Zhicheng invited him to sit on the sofa.
"Today's live stream went exceptionally well—even beyond our highest expectations," Miao Yifeng said, beaming, unable to hide his joy as he announced the good news to everyone: "The peak concurrent viewership during the stream even broke one million!"
"If we hadn't had sufficient equipment ready, the live room might've collapsed."
"Even at the lowest point of viewership—excluding the first five minutes of growth after launch—the number never dropped below twenty thousand."
"Especially from the moment Yan Zhusheng entered until the end, viewership never fell below forty thousand."
"This data far exceeds our original projections by a huge margin."
At this point, Miao Yifeng couldn't help but glance at Li Luo beside him: "We really have to thank Teacher Chong Ran for those little designs before the stream—the effect was genuinely excellent."
"Mr. Miao, you're too kind. It's mainly thanks to Aunt Yuan and Zhusheng's outstanding performance," Li Luo replied with a smile. "What I did was just icing on the cake."
Everyone exchanged compliments, the atmosphere warm and harmonious.
When the recording room next door was nearly cleaned up, Miao Yifeng stood to take his leave. Before departing, he turned to Ying Chanxi: "Little Ying Zong, about the song contract—can we set a time tomorrow to finalize it?"
"Couldn't we do it now?" Ying Chanxi said. "Didn't we already agree on everything just now? If it's just signing the contract, we can follow the template from 'Misaligned Space'—sign two copies, that's all."
"If it were just that, then sure," Miao Yifeng said with a sly smile. "But our General Manager Zhang is very interested in several other new songs by Teacher Chongran, so let's find another time to discuss them properly."
"I see," Ying Chanxi said, her expression clearing. She exchanged a glance with Li Luo, then nodded. "Alright, Mr. Miao, pick a time—we'll discuss further."
After setting the time and place for their next negotiation, Miao Yifeng stood and took his leave with his team.
He had originally planned to join the main group, catch the flight tonight, and return to Jingzhao City.
But plans had changed—he assigned two staff members to stay behind and work overtime with him, then checked into a nearby hotel.
Meanwhile, Li Luo, after finishing his tasks, prepared to pack up and head straight home.
Ying Zhicheng had also finished his work for the day, came to check on the live set, and planned to go home with Yuan Wanqing.
With nothing else left to do, the five of them rose and left the lounge, taking the elevator down to the underground parking lot.
Watching Ying Chanxi and Yan Zhusheng flank Li Luo on either side, Ying Zhicheng's eye twitched; he clenched his fists silently, powerless to act, and finally got into his own car, watching helplessly as his two daughters got into the same vehicle as Li Luo.
"Uncle Ying, we're moving on the twentieth of next month," Li Luo said, having Yan Zhusheng drive the car over to Ying Zhicheng's, rolling down his window. "You and Aunt Yuan must remember to come."
"The twentieth? Got it," Ying Zhicheng replied coolly, then waved them off, watching the three drive away from the underground parking lot.
"Alright, stop staring," Yuan Wanqing chuckled helplessly. "If you squeeze the steering wheel any harder, you'll break it."
"Tsk," Ying Zhicheng grumbled, giving the steering wheel a light punch. "Don't you think that kid just now was deliberately taunting me by announcing his move right in front of me?"
"How is that taunting you?" Yuan Wanqing said, half-laughing, half-exasperated. "You know he bought a villa."
"I just get the feeling he was showing off," Ying Zhicheng grumbled, growing more annoyed. "I can't understand why both Xixi and Zhusheng are willing to let that brat have both of them."
"It's done now—thinking too much won't change anything," Yuan Wanqing sighed, looking resigned, then seemed to recall something and added: "By the way, what do you think of the neighborhood Li Luo chose for his villa?"
"What's that about?" Ying Zhicheng asked, puzzled. "It's decent enough—over in Yinjiang District, it's among the most upscale developments."
"That's good," Yuan Wanqing mused, then smiled. "Since Xixi and Zhusheng will be living there with Li Luo, why not buy a unit in the same neighborhood? That way, visits will be much more convenient, won't it?"
Ying Zhicheng had been so consumed by anger he hadn't considered how to integrate into his daughters' new family life.
Hearing Yuan Wanqing say this, he fell silent, unable to think of any reason to refuse.
He wasn't opposed to buying a house there—or living near Li Luo—but he simply resented how much of an advantage the brat was getting.
Yet if he said more, he feared Yuan Wanqing would bring up Yan Ruqing, so he stayed quiet and nodded, tacitly accepting it.
"Then when they move on the twentieth, we can talk to Li Luo about it," Yuan Wanqing said cheerfully. "He bought a house there—he probably knows someone who can recommend something."
"Mm," Ying Zhicheng nodded again, said nothing more, and let Yuan Wanqing handle it.
After all, Yuan Wanqing's current financial strength—annual revenue of over a billion, with tens of millions flowing directly into her own pocket—was already substantial.
Her wealth was no longer negligible.
A single villa in Yinjiang District posed no financial burden whatsoever for Yuan Wanqing.
She could buy it outright with ease.
Thanks to the massive success of "Little Joys" and Yuan Wanqing's rising triumph, Ying Zhicheng had firmly secured his position as General Manager of Huayue Film and Television.
Thinking that all of this was thanks to Li Luo, Ying Zhicheng didn't know what to say.
If anything, Li Luo truly was his lucky star.
The price this stroke of luck requires is just too high.
Losing two daughters—no one knows if it's worth it.
Ying Zhicheng sighed slightly, drove Yuan Wanqing home, and temporarily pushed these troubling matters out of his mind, refusing to dwell on them.
……
On the other side, Yan Zhusheng drove Ying Chanxi and Li Luo back to Bihai Lanting.
After taking the elevator back to unit 1502, it was already nine at night.
Ying Chanxi walked toward the balcony, planning to fetch her changed sleepwear for a bath.
When she returned to Li Luo's bedroom with several sets of clean sleepwear, Ying Chanxi glanced at Yan Zhusheng, who blinked back at her older sister, noticing the clean sleepwear in her hands.
She couldn't help tilting her head and asking, "Sister, are we bathing together again today?"
"No way!" Ying Chanxi, stirred by certain embarrassing memories, puffed out her cheeks in refusal, "I'm bathing alone today. None of you are allowed in."
Saying this, she tossed Li Luo's and the others' sleepwear onto the bed, took her own changed sleepwear into the bathroom, and slammed the door shut with a bang.
At this point, Li Luo had already started typing. Hearing Ying Chanxi say she wanted to bathe alone, he paid it no further mind and prepared to focus entirely on his typing.
But Yan Zhusheng, sitting on the bed beside him, quietly extended one bare foot and rubbed it lightly against Li Luo's thigh.
"What are you doing?" Li Luo glanced at the mischievous Zhusheng and asked, "I'm typing—don't mess around."
"I'm not messing around," Yan Zhusheng said, blinking her big eyes at Li Luo, "Aren't you going to bathe?"
"Didn't Xixi say she wanted to bathe alone?"
"Do you really believe what she says?" Yan Zhusheng reminded him, "She didn't lock the door when she closed it—she's clearly waiting for us to come in."
"... Really?"
"Then why didn't she lock the door?" Yan Zhusheng countered, "She always locks it when she bathes."
"That's true..." Li Luo recalled—Ying Chanxi always locked the door when bathing, yet just now, there had been no sound of the lock turning.
"So let's go~" Yan Zhusheng sat up eagerly, heading toward the bathroom, and turned back to wave at Li Luo.
"Take your sleepwear."
"No need," Yan Zhusheng said, "We can put it on after we come out, right?"
That made sense.
Li Luo stood up with some anticipation and followed Yan Zhusheng straight into the bathroom.
"Ah! How did you two come in?"
Soon, Ying Chanxi's startled cry echoed from inside the bathroom.
"You didn't lock the door—wasn't that exactly so I and Li Luo could come in?"
"I—I just forgot to lock it!" Ying Chanxi stammered in protest, but quickly collapsed into only soft whimpering.
Li Luo lathered the two girls with shower gel in the shower stall, yet his thoughts drifted to Ying Zhicheng he'd met tonight—he wondered what Ying Shu would think if he knew what was happening now; it wouldn't be solved by just a few boxing matches.
……
After a tender interlude, Li Luo, thoroughly satisfied, hugged the two girls out of the bathroom and carried them to bed.
After watching Ying Chanxi and Yan Zhusheng lie down, Li Luo, now in sage-like composure, returned to his desk and resumed his typing.
Only after finishing did he return to bed.
At this point, Xu Youyu had also finished typing, bathed, and entered the master bedroom.
Ying Chanxi remembered what Xu Youyu had promised her at noon, and turned to say, "Senior Xu, remember to join us for morning run tomorrow—don't you dare back out."
Xu Youyu, hearing this, sighed helplessly: "We're about to sleep—can't you just drop this? If you say this, what if I can't sleep tonight?"
"You're not already planning to use insomnia as an excuse to skip tomorrow's run, are you?" Ying Chanxi asked suspiciously.
"How could I?" Xu Youyu puffed out her chest indignantly, "Do you doubt Senior Xu's reputation?"
Ying Chanxi, who had been leaning against Li Luo's chest, suddenly felt the full weight of Xu Youyu's "reputation" as her chest pressed against her.
Beside her, Li Luo found it amusing and, with the hand still around Ying Chanxi's shoulder, sneakily pinched her chest a few times: "Senior Youyu's reputation is still reliable."
"Hmph~" Xu Youyu, sitting across from Ying Chanxi, rolled her eyes at him—but didn't swat away his roving hand, instead deliberately lowering the collar of her sleepwear and winking at him.
Ying Chanxi, oblivious, still leaned against Li Luo: "No matter what, we'll wake you up tomorrow morning—don't you dare oversleep."
"Mm~" Xu Youyu murmured—no one could tell if it was an agreement or a reaction to Li Luo's pinching.
"It's late," Li Luo noticed Ying Chanxi preparing to lie flat, immediately withdrew his hand, and cleared his throat feigning solemnity, "Let's get some sleep—otherwise we won't wake up tomorrow."
