Chapter 835: Evil Mahjong

~6 min read 1,140 words

Li Luo's wish was something the three girls could easily guess.

After all, the only obstacle standing in their way right now was just one thing.

"Then let's start cutting the cake." Li Luo removed the extinguished candles, picked up the plastic knife beside him, and began carefully slicing the cake.

Since they knew the four of them had small appetites, Xu Youyu and the others hadn't prepared a particularly large cake—this birthday cake was barely the size of Li Luo's open palm.

It looked tiny and exquisitely made.

"Did you spend all the cake budget on these four little figures?" Li Luo couldn't help laughing as he prepared to cut.

The cake had no border, its decorations plain to the point of dullness—but the four buttercream figures on top were rendered with uncanny precision, vivid and lifelike.

"They're going to be eaten anyway," Xu Youyu grinned. "As long as the little figures look nice, that's all we asked for."

"What else did you ask for?"

"More buttercream," Xu Youyu said, reaching out to scrape a bit from the cake's edge and immediately smearing it on Li Luo's face, chuckling, "Sure, we bought a smaller cake, but we just finished eating—there's no way you'll finish it all."

"That's a bit childish," Li Luo sighed, but didn't mind; he kept the buttercream on his face and held up the plastic knife, asking the three girls, "So one little figure each?"

"I want this one," Yan Zhusheng pointed to the figure representing Li Luo.

Hearing this, Ying Chanxi on the other side protested: "Why do you get Li Luo? I want him too."

"Me too! Me too~" Xu Youyu, rarely one to miss a chance to stir up the sisters' chaos, chimed in loudly.

Li Luo groaned: "Am I supposed to split him into three pieces for you?"

"In real life, that's impossible," Xu Youyu teased. "But on the cake? Totally fine. If you can't do it, I'll cut it instead."

"Then you do it." Li Luo handed her the plastic knife. Xu Youyu took it without hesitation, eagerly examining the little Li Luo figure.

Finally, after deciding on her plan, she brought the knife down without mercy, cleanly severing the little Li Luo's head.

"Here," Xu Youyu placed the head, still attached to a small piece of cake, onto a tiny plate and handed it to Ying Chanxi. "This one's for Xixi."

"That's kind of creepy…" Ying Chanxi blinked, took the plate, and stared at the head, momentarily stunned.

"How could it not be creepy?" Li Luo watched, suddenly feeling a chill down his neck; he looked at Xu Youyu with disbelief. "That's way too cruel."

"You told me to cut it," Xu Youyu said innocently. "I'm just giving Xixi the essence of wisdom—the very core of a person."

Li Luo: "... You're good at talking."

"Mmm~" Xu Youyu hummed triumphantly, then brought the knife down again, slicing straight through the little Li Luo's abdomen—executing a waist-cut.

She placed the upper half on a plate and handed it to Yan Zhusheng, keeping the lower half for herself.

"There," Xu Youyu returned the plastic knife to him, grinning. "The remaining three are all yours—make sure you eat them all~"

"Alright, alright," Li Luo sighed, taking the knife and carefully plucking out the three girl-shaped buttercream figures, holding them in his palm to savor slowly.

I have to say the cream at this place is quite delicious, with no overwhelming sweetness that makes you feel cloying after just a few bites, and it has a refreshingly light texture.

Just as Li Luo finished the three little figures and was about to taste the rest of the cake, Xu Youyu had somehow slipped beside him and smeared another streak of buttercream on his face.

This time, Li Luo wasn't going to let her get away with it—he scooped up some cream, pinned her down, and smudged it across her cheeks.

He also gave the innocent bystanders a share.

"I didn't touch you," Ying Chanxi pouted. "You brought this on yourself."

With that, Ying Chanxi immediately joined the battle.

Yan Zhusheng stayed silent, but had already begun sneaking actions.

She didn't smear Li Luo's face at all—only targeted her own sister.

Only when Ying Chanxi realized this did she angrily retaliate: "Why are you only targeting me? Are you settling personal scores?"

"No way," Yan Zhusheng shook her head. "You're shorter, so it's just easier to reach."

Hearing that, Ying Chanxi grew even angrier and launched an equal counterattack.

The two sisters chased each other around the mahjong table, leaving Li Luo and Xu Youyu to quietly take advantage, slipping in extra smears on both sisters' faces.

When the three girls finally grew tired, the chaos subsided.

Fortunately, everyone had held back—the buttercream marks weren't severe.

Ying Chanxi, for instance, had only about seven or eight faint streaks on her face—the most of anyone.

Looking at her now, it only added a touch of innocent charm.

Li Luo sat on the sofa to rest, enjoying the warmth on either side, then suggested: "Let's wash our faces first, then start mahjong?"

"Why wash our faces?" Xu Youyu grinned. "Just start playing mahjong."

"What do you mean? Not wiping it off?" Li Luo blinked, puzzled.

"It's part of the game," Xu Youyu hummed smugly, standing up and walking to the mahjong table, waving them over.

Li Luo didn't understand, but followed anyway, taking a seat at random.

Xu Youyu activated the mahjong table and began explaining: "Every round ends with one person winning and the other three losing."

"At that point, the three losers must accept a penalty."

"As for what the penalty is~"

Li Luo sensed the key element of tonight's mahjong game was about to be revealed, and leaned in intently.

Yan Zhusheng and Ying Chanxi listened just as carefully.

Yan Zhusheng had never bothered to memorize rules before—she just wanted fun, and trusted her senior's word.

Ying Chanxi had paid close attention, but Xu Youyu was known for improvising.

At least this buttercream trick—Ying Chanxi was certain Xu Youyu had never mentioned it before.

It was clearly a last-minute idea.

She had no idea what twisted rule would come next.

"So what's the penalty?" Li Luo asked.

"I've only thought of three so far," Xu Youyu winked slyly, eager to share. "First, of course, is the unfinished business from the flying chess game."

"What's going on?" Li Luo asked curiously.

"Take off your clothes~" Xu Youyu threw him a seductive glance, her feet under the table already growing restless.

Li Luo's breath quickened slightly; he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping over the three young maids.

At this moment, the maids' uniforms worn by Ying Chanxi and the other two had all become battle-damaged, with various pieces of attire torn or removed.
