Chapter 907: As Long as We
Actually, before Li Luo unfolded this wish note, he had already guessed roughly what it would say.
After all, Ying Chanxi's expression was too easy to read; it was almost impossible not to guess.
But when Li Luo truly saw this note written by Ying Chanxi during junior high, he felt no urge to tease her—only a complex mix of emotions.
A vague, indescribable taste rose to his throat, swirling between his lips and tongue, carrying bitterness and regret.
Since his rebirth, his interactions with Ying Chanxi and the other two girls had gradually made Li Luo realize certain things.
He had once believed the stories he remembered between them were the full truth.
Only after rebirth and further exploration did he realize how much he had lost and missed back then.
Even at the start of his rebirth, Li Luo never thought Ying Chanxi had liked him this deeply in junior high.
At most, she might have had some fondness for her childhood friend.
After all, if someone truly loved another, how could they go over twenty years without seeing them much?
But now, seeing this note, Li Luo fell silent.
He felt uncertain doubts rising—he realized rebirth hadn't made him omniscient or omnipotent.
There were still too many things he didn't know, happening in places he never knew about, causing him to misjudge the girls' feelings in their past life.
But the good news was, in this life, he finally had a chance to make amends.
Just like right now.
Watching Ying Chanxi bury her face in the sofa from sheer embarrassment, Li Luo's lips curled slightly; he didn't rush, only quietly tucked the note away and gently patted her shoulder, softly saying, "There, there, what's there to be shy about? Isn't your wish coming true? I think my Christmas tree is quite effective."
Maybe because this wish went unfulfilled in her past life, Santa gave him a chance to start over?
Li Luo smiled inwardly, then gently pulled Ying Chanxi up.
He didn't use force, yet she willingly sat up, then snuggled into his arms, burying her face against his chest, too shy to look at him.
Li Luo thought the girl in his arms was utterly adorable; he reached out one hand, slowly tilting her tiny chin upward, watching her flushed cheeks slowly rise.
Her eyes blinked rapidly, glancing left, then right, too afraid to meet Li Luo's gaze.
This shyness and cuteness softened his heart, making him lean down and kiss the girl's lips.
The shy girl was like a rich, silky milk tea—smooth, dense, with a faint sweetness.
Held in his arms, she felt like a soft cotton candy, pliable to any shape he desired, every inch of her sweet.
In normal circumstances, Li Luo might have already eagerly pinned her to the sofa and teased her.
But today he was unusually patient; after savoring for a long while, he pulled back slightly.
Their lips parted; Ying Chanxi pouted forward, not reaching his lips, then opened her eyes in confusion.
Seeing Li Luo smiling at her, she quickly covered her face with both hands and lightly bumped her head against his chest a few times.
"So, what were you feeling when you wrote this on your wish note?" Li Luo pulled her back into his arms and teased.
"How would I know?" Ying Chanxi squirmed in his arms, muttering softly, "I must've been brain-dead back then—why did I write something like this?"
"What's wrong with it? I think it's great," Li Luo stifled a laugh. "What do you have against your junior high self?"
"Hmph~" Ying Chanxi poked him twice, pouting. "You only think it's good because it benefits you—I thought I'd written something insulting to you."
"My Chanxi could never insult me," Li Luo pinched her cheek, speaking with certainty.
"Jerk," Ying Chanxi whispered. "How come I can't insult you? Look, I just did."
"If it's this kind of insult, you can scold me more tonight," Li Luo murmured into her ear. "I love hearing you scold me."
"Pervert," Ying Chanxi muttered, her face blazing red, secretly delighted and even looking forward to it—though she dared not show it.
The two hugged on the sofa for a while, then Ying Chanxi asked to listen to music; Li Luo picked up his guitar again and played and sang every song he'd preliminarily decided to include in the album.
Over a dozen songs—just singing them all, more than an hour slipped away silently.
"You're the first listener of this album," Li Luo smiled. "Don't you feel honored?"
"Has Zhu Sheng heard them?"
"She only heard the songs I prepared for her—she doesn't know these ones yet."
"Oh," Ying Chanxi was pleased but remained reserved, raising one hand, thumb and index finger pinched together, feigning reluctance. "Then I suppose I have a little bit of honor."
"Just a little bit?"
"What? Isn't a little bit enough?" Ying Chanxi huffed, then relented. "Fine, then a little more."
"How much more?" Li Luo put down the guitar, leaned close to Ying Chanxi, pinning her against the sofa back. "I need to ask you properly."
"What are you planning?" Ying Chanxi blushed, but this time didn't look away—instead, she anticipated it, meeting his gaze boldly.
As the saying goes, in lovers' eyes, even the plain becomes beautiful; their gazes entwined, as if pulling threads, like electric sparks.
At this point, their eyes held nothing else in the world.
Neither Li Luo nor Ying Chanxi knew what happened—when they came to their senses, they were already entangled on the sofa for a long while.
Ying Chanxi's junior high uniform jacket lay on the coffee table; Li Luo's jacket had somehow ended up behind the sofa.
Their lips parted briefly; Ying Chanxi, pinned beneath him, gasped, arms tightly wrapped around his neck, then whispered, "G-go to my room?"
"Mm," Li Luo replied, scooping her up by her rounded hips, carrying her straight to the bedroom.
Ying Chanxi felt her body lift; instinctively she clung to him, her legs wrapping around his waist like an octopus.
Once in the bedroom, Li Luo didn't toss her onto the bed and crush her—he cradled her like a baby, gently placing her down, then tenderly leaned down to kiss her lips.
Ying Chanxi's eyes were hazy, yet her mind remained clear.
When Li Luo's hands touched her school pants, she instinctively lifted her hips, then quickly fished from under her pillow the plastic square piece Zhi Cheng had given her.
"You're well prepared," Li Luo grinned, taking it and pinching her flushed cheek. "When did you put it there?"
"None of your business," Ying Chanxi turned her face away, too shy to meet his eyes, whispering, "Y-you be gentle—I'm a little scared."
"Alright," Li Luo replied softly, gazing at her, not rushing, only leaning in to seek her.
Ying Chanxi hugged his head, gazing dazedly at the ceiling, feeling as if she floated in the sky, drifting upon the sea.
Until her body shook uncontrollably, Ying Chanxi finally snapped back to awareness, her soul settling once more into her body, her gaze drifting softly onto Li Luo's face.
At this point, Li Luo was already prepared.
But just then, Ying Chanxi's phone, charging beside the bed, suddenly vibrated a few times.
Li Luo had no intention of paying attention, but after glancing at the screen, he saw a message from the WeChat group chat 【Sisters' Strategic Council】, causing him to pause in surprise.
What the hell is this?
Curious, he reached over and took Ying Chanxi's phone, unlocking it with his own birthday while she watched.
Seeing this, Ying Chanxi's expression changed, her face flushing even redder as she frantically snatched the phone back, stammering: "Th-this—you can't look at this—"
"What is this?" Li Luo asked with a half-smile. "Your secret little group with Zhusheng and Youyu? What else is there I, your husband, can't know?"
"Anyway—anyway, you just can't know." Ying Chanxi muttered softly, still trying to quickly shut the phone.
But curiosity overcame her—she wanted to see what the two sisters had posted—so she seized the chance and quickly opened WeChat to take a peek.
【Yan Zhusheng】: Sis, haven't you started yet? Let us know when you're done.
【Xu Youyu】: How fast do you expect? You've got to set the mood first.
【Yan Zhusheng】: Remember to use the thing Dad gave you. Don't get pregnant.
【Xu Youyu】: You've got good protection awareness.
【Yan Zhusheng】: Not exactly—I just want to be the first to give birth to Li Luo's baby.
【Xu Youyu】: ————Why the rush? Having a baby is such a hassle.
【Yan Zhusheng】: True, so neither of you two should get pregnant yet—I'll scout the path for you.
【Xu Youyu】: Are you just jealous because Aunt Yuan is pregnant? If you get pregnant now, your future brother or sister will be a few months older than your own nephew or niece.
【Yan Zhusheng】: So what? Besides, I've never tried without it—have you, Senior?
【Xu Youyu】: No, it's too risky.
Ying Chanxi glanced at the group messages and saw it was just Yan Zhusheng and Xu Youyu chatting idly; she sighed.
But then she suddenly remembered something, tossed the phone aside, and looked down at herself.
The next moment, as if making a decision, she extended her small hand.
"N-not—what are you doing?"
"I don't need this anymore." Ying Chanxi quietly threw the gift from Ying Zhicheng into the trash and whispered, "Li Luo, I want it."
"—You're sure?"
"Mm."
March 15.
Morning sunlight slipped through the curtain gap and fell upon Ying Chanxi's face.
She blinked wearily, then twisted her body, burying her head into Li Luo's chest, finding a comfortable spot away from the light, and drifted back to sleep.
After a long while, she woke from hazy half-sleep, gazing up at the familiar ceiling, blinked again, and slowly came fully awake.
Her waist and legs ached slightly—Ying Chanxi pinched her waist, turned her head to look at Li Luo sleeping beside her, and smiled with quiet happiness and satisfaction.
Recalling last night's scenes, her cheeks flushed again, two rosy hues blooming like vivid flowers, making her appear even more delicate, as if freshly watered.
She touched her flat, smooth belly, thought of something, and felt a flicker of fear—but when she turned back to look at Li Luo, her heart instantly calmed, replaced by a quiet anticipation.
Though she didn't know the odds, if she conceived, she believed it was fate's design.
Of course, if she didn't, it didn't matter—she had, at least, truly taken Li Luo's first time in a certain sense.
This gave her a small sense of pride, and she couldn't resist pulling out her phone, thinking carefully before posting a victory message in 【Sisters' Strategic Council】.
Not a single sentence—but a video.
After sending it, she tossed the phone aside again, snuggled deeper into Li Luo's arms, and playfully slipped her small hand under the covers.
Li Luo was forced awake; before opening his eyes, he felt Ying Chanxi taking control of him, and sighed helplessly, opening his eyes to look at her in his arms.
"What are you doing so early in the morning?"
"I'm not doing anything." Ying Chanxi feigned innocence, half-leaning on Li Luo, leaning in to kiss him. "It's already past seven. Time to get up."
"Let me sleep a bit longer—I'm exhausted from last night," Li Luo yawned, genuinely surprised Ying Chanxi's stamina surpassed both Zhusheng and Youyu combined.
She always looked like she couldn't take it anymore, yet somehow kept going.
It was Li Luo who ended up completely drained.
Probably due to years of running and fitness, Ying Chanxi felt little discomfort; instead, she found herself craving more. Seeing Li Luo about to fall back asleep, she willingly slipped under the covers.
"Ssshh—don't play—"
At just after eight in the morning, Li Luo emerged from the bathroom looking utterly drained, as if every ounce of energy had been sapped.
He looked at Ying Chanxi, radiant and lovely in the bathroom, applying skincare—after one night, she seemed to have shed much of her youthful innocence, gaining the allure of a mature woman.
Yet blended with her petite, adorable figure, it created a uniquely irresistible charm.
But Li Luo could only sigh—he felt the road ahead would be long and arduous.
His simple fitness routine would no longer suffice for his future happiness.
He'd have to study it seriously.
"Get packed—we're going home today," Li Luo said. "We'll pick up Youyu along the way."
"Got it."
"About Aunt Cui's suggestion—"
"Didn't I say last night?" Ying Chanxi turned back, smiling sweetly at Li Luo. "Marriage certificates don't matter at all—as long as we're together, that's all that counts."
