Chapter 1257: Ascension of the Abyss Gate (First update, requesting everything)

"What happened to the Sky Fortress?"

In the palace, Li Zhangsheng asked Zuo Qiulin.

Zuo Qiulin hurriedly replied: "Just now, the Butterfly King sent word that the Abyss Gate suppressed by the Sky Fortress has grown much larger in size for some unknown reason, and the Demonic Qi is surging into the sky, affecting the entire Sky Fortress. The Butterfly King believes that the Abyss Gate might be evolving."

"Evolving?"

Li Zhangsheng's first thought was that it was impossible. The reason was simple: during this period, he had extracted most of the Abyss Consciousness lingering near the Abyss Gate. Based on his understanding of the Abyss Gate, there was no possibility of this gate evolving in such a short time.

Consequently, he felt there was a high probability that the Abyss 175th Floor had employed some method to cause such a change.

However, no matter how one looked at it, this was not a good thing for him.

"Elder Zuo, I am assigning you a task: mobilize a large number of Monster Tamers to support the Sky Fortress in a short time."

"This subordinate will certainly complete it!"

"Go. Now, the Moon King and I will go to the Sky Fortress to take command."

Soon, a golden-red rainbow rose from Yecheng and sped toward the Sky Fortress.

To avoid being recognized, Li Zhangsheng did not ride Aixi, but chose Ning Bizhen's Sun Fire Crow.

The Sun Fire Crow was extremely fast, and within a quarter of an hour, it appeared above the Sky Fortress.

Everything in the Sky Fortress remained as it was; there was no war for the time being, but everyone's expression was heavy.

Compared to last time, wisps of Demonic Qi could be vaguely seen with the naked eye within the Sky Fortress.

Not only that, there was a trace of pressure, as the Abyss Consciousness had also included the Sky Fortress in its range. However, because the time was too short, the Abyss Consciousness was still very sparse.

This was mainly because the volume of the Abyss Gate had increased significantly, allowing a larger quantity of Abyssal Demonic Qi and Abyss Consciousness to enter, greatly expanding the range of influence.

Li Zhangsheng and Ning Bizhen made no attempt to hide, and their King-level phenomena emerged, clearly visible to everyone in the Sky Fortress.

Seeing the two arrive, the Butterfly King Luo Qingning finally set her mind at ease and hurriedly led the fortress's high-ranking officials to welcome them.

"Welcome, Your Highness the All King, Your Highness the Moon King!"

Led by Luo Qingning, the group of high-ranking officials bowed in salute.

"No need for such formalities, Butterfly King. Everyone, rise!"

Li Zhangsheng flicked his sleeve and brought Ning Bizhen and Luo Qingning into the Sky Fortress.

In the palace of the Sky Fortress, Li Zhangsheng sat in the main seat and held a consultation with the high-ranking officials of the Sky Fortress.

"The Sky Fortress has been placed under martial law and has entered a full state of combat readiness."

"Emergency summons have been issued to surrounding cities, and a large number of Monster Tamers will arrive soon to help with the garrison!"

"We have arranged for personnel to keep an eye on the Abyss Gate; once there is any further unusual activity, it will be reported to us immediately."

The high-ranking officials participated enthusiastically, wanting to leave a good impression on Li Zhangsheng; perhaps they too would have a chance to become Kings.

Since Li Zhangsheng became a King, in just one year, those closely related to him—Ning Bizhen, Xu Wenhua, Zuo Qiulin, and Li Haoqiong—had scrambled to become Kings.

Under Zuo Qiulin's publicity, who didn't know that Li Zhangsheng had specifically created a list of candidate Kings? Who among those present didn't want to add their own name to this list?

"Very good!" Li Zhangsheng nodded in approval, then asked Luo Qingning: "Butterfly King, has the reason for this change in the Abyss Gate been found?"

Luo Qingning pondered slightly and said: "When the Abyss Gate became abnormal, I personally investigated it. At that time, the volume of this Abyss Gate was already twice as large as before and was still growing rapidly; the reason is currently unknown. However, according to descriptions in books, this Abyss Gate is in the process of ascending."

Li Zhangsheng stroked his chin, his thoughts racing. However, he could be certain that, according to common logic, this Abyss Gate could not possibly ascend, as the Abyss Consciousness here had already become extremely sparse.

Thus, Li Zhangsheng thought of two possibilities.

First, the Sovereign of the Abyss 175th Floor and Dagon Descendant Andrew Bernama paid a huge price to forcibly ascend the Abyss Gate.

Second, Bernama used a special method similar to the Exotic Treasure Burial Technique to forcibly activate the potential of this Abyss Gate, causing it to level up in a short time.

The probability of the first is actually not high; even for a Dagon Descendant, the cost of forcibly ascending an Abyss Gate is still very high, and Bernama is likely unwilling to pay it.

If it is the second, the origin of this Abyss Gate must be severely damaged. As long as one holds out during this period and waits for the Abyss Gate's potential to be exhausted, it will collapse on its own.

"Can this process be interrupted?"

"I have tried, but all were ineffective!"

Luo Qingning shook her head. This problem could be called a global challenge, as many powerful beings had tried, but unfortunately, all returned in defeat.

However, that was others; Li Zhangsheng might be different. His Gate of Light and Darkness could be called the nemesis of the Abyss, and perhaps there was a way to contain it.

"Hmm, in a moment, the Moon King and I will go and investigate!"

Li Zhangsheng set the tone. If the Abyss Gate's ascension could be contained, things would become very simple.

If it could not, he would choose to take the initiative and move the battlefield to the Abyss 175th Floor.

For one, Li Zhangsheng did not want to expose his strength, especially not to be discovered as having ascended to a Double-Character King; for another, it was to repel the enemy outside the national borders to reduce losses.

According to the memories he searched from the Succubus Commander Promia, even among the many layers of the Abyss, the area of the Abyss 175th Floor still ranked among the top, and it had hundreds of Demon Commanders. If one added the Demon Lord Andrew Bernama, even if only a small portion entered the Fairy World, Li Zhangsheng would likely have to expose his strength to resist.

If he actively entered the Abyss 175th Floor, not only would the battlefield be shifted, but Li Zhangsheng could also use his speed advantage to defeat strong enemies one by one.

For Li Zhangsheng, the threat of Demon Commanders was no longer great. With the strength of Aixi, Kailan, Baitan, Heiye, the Four-Clawed Yellow Dragon, Roundy, the Thunder Qilin, and the Chi Dragon, which one could not deal with several alone? As long as he was not surrounded and killed by hundreds of Demon Commanders, Li Zhangsheng could guarantee his safety.

The key is that demons are chaotic evil creatures. Not to mention that they are not united, once they find that the enemy is too thorny and their lives are threatened, they will likely change their behavioral policy immediately, prioritizing their own survival.

"Chaos breeds fools" is an old saying for a reason, and this was also Li Zhangsheng's opportunity; there was a high probability of having a chance to face the Demon Lord Andrew Bernama directly.

In addition, Li Zhangsheng also wanted to find the broken tip of the Biluo Sword. As long as it was repaired, the combination of the two swords would become more like an extension of his arm, and its power could be further enhanced.

Of course, the massive resources of the Abyss 175th Floor were also his goal. He remembered that there were no fewer than ten resource points that could produce Heaven and Earth Rare Treasure Grade materials and one that could produce World Wonder Grade materials.

Although these Abyss specialties were of little use, they could serve as rations for the advancement of the "Golden Crow Nine Revolutions".
