Chapter 1453: The Ascension of the Gate of Heaven (First Update, seeking all)

At this moment, the sky suddenly turned black, clouds rolled in, and electric currents flashed from time to time.

The Stronger present could not help but look in unison at the turbulent sky. Before they could discover anything, a thunderbolt like a wild python struck down, heading straight for the location where Li Zhangsheng was in seclusion.

In an instant, the thunder hit the Thunder Qilin.

The Thunder Qilin felt no pain; instead, the corners of its mouth curled up, feeling quite like a fish in water as it bathed in the silver thunder.

In the blink of an eye, the thunder vanished, easily absorbed by the Thunder Qilin.

However, the very next moment, another thunderbolt struck down, and it was clearly thicker than the previous one.

Just like the first thunderbolt, the second one still caused no injury to the Thunder Qilin and was easily devoured by it.

Following that came the third, the fourth...

From beginning to end, Li Zhangsheng watched coldly from the sidelines. This was not a Heavenly Punishment, but a process the Purple Heaven Qilin had to undergo.

In a sense, this was also a benefit bestowed upon the Purple Heaven Qilin by the Heavenly Dao.

The Purple Heaven Qilin acting as the agent of Heavenly Punishment was not just empty talk; stimulated by these thunderbolts, the energy within its body would undergo a transformation and advance further.

As for how the people outside viewed it, Li Zhangsheng naturally couldn't be bothered to care. He didn't need to explain at all, and Stronger of the level of Wendi, Wudi, and the Four Seas Dragon King could not possibly be worried; how could this bit of thunder threaten Li Zhangsheng?

By the time the seventh thunderbolt arrived, it was interspersed with wisps of purple thunder; the eighth was even more so, and the ninth was composed entirely of pure Purple Heaven Divine Thunder.

Yet even the ninth thunderbolt could not do anything to the Thunder Qilin; it was still easily neutralized by the Thunder Qilin and ultimately transformed into nourishment for growth.

Roar~

When the thunder vanished, it revealed the figure of the Thunder Qilin—no, it should be the Purple Heaven Qilin.

Compared to the Thunder Qilin, the Purple Heaven Qilin gave a more majestic and domineering impression. Both its appearance and aura far surpassed the Thunder Qilin, and the scales on its body had turned purple, flashing with purple electric currents from time to time.

Purple Heaven Qilin: A legendary Divine Beast, excels in speed and melee combat, its fur and scales have top-tier resistance, acts as the agent of Heavenly Punishment, extremely detests the evil faction, and is the Divine Beast most skilled at attacking.

After evolving into the Purple Heaven Qilin, although the Thunder Qilin did not reach Legendary Quality, it still surged by a large margin, roughly in the upper-middle range.

Unfortunately, Li Zhangsheng had no extra treasures to improve its quality.

In his communication with the Purple Heaven Qilin, Li Zhangsheng learned of other changes.

First, the Purple Heaven Qilin's Purple Heaven Divine Thunder characteristic reached the perfection stage, its power was significantly enhanced, and it could be maintained for a longer time.

Second, the Purple Heaven Qilin gained another characteristic, named Agent of Heavenly Punishment.

Third, the Purple Heaven Qilin inherited all the skills of the Thunder Qilin.

Agent of Heavenly Punishment: A unique characteristic of the Purple Heaven Qilin, dispels evil, increases damage effect against the evil faction. When slaying those who are extremely treacherous and evil, the Heavenly Dao will bestow a certain amount of merit.

"Going further and further on the path of the Evil Bane!"

Li Zhangsheng shook his head, but his face was full of smiles. He truly liked a Demon Pet with such distinct characteristics as the Purple Heaven Qilin. When dealing with the Abyss in the future, the Purple Heaven Qilin would be the vanguard general.

"Right, almost forgot about this!"

As Li Zhangsheng spoke, he took out the Original Light. It was not that he wanted to upgrade the Original Light now, but that the Original Light stored several powerful souls.

Among them, it contained the soul of an Emperor Rank Chongming Bird.

Ever since the Hell Gate devoured the soul of a Demon Monarch, causing an imbalance between the Gate of Light and Darkness, Li Zhangsheng had been concerned about Emperor Rank Light-type Divine Beasts and Light-type deities.

As for whether the Gate of Heaven could be upgraded, he would have to wait and see after trying.

If the soul of an Emperor Rank Light-type Divine Beast didn't work either, he would have no choice but to find a Light-type deity.

The Emperor Rank Chongming Bird was Li Zhangsheng's enemy, so Li Zhangsheng naturally would not be soft-hearted, not to mention it might not even work.

Under Li Zhangsheng's control, a milky-white radiance flew out from the Original Light. Unlike the soul of a Demon Emperor Level Divine Beast, the soul of the Emperor Rank Chongming Bird was substantial, which was also one of the characteristics of the Emperor Rank.

The next moment, a powerful suction force emerged from the Gate of Heaven.

The Chongming Bird's soul wanted to beg for mercy, but with a *whoosh*, it was forcibly pulled into the Gate of Heaven.

During this process, countless Purification Light rushed into the Chongming Bird's soul.

Chirp~

The Chongming Bird's mournful and shrill scream rang out, then stopped abruptly. Its soul dissipated, turning into pure white gas.

In an instant, the white gas rapidly merged into the Gate of Heaven and vanished.

Li Zhangsheng had been using his Mental Power to observe the changes in the Gate of Heaven to avoid any accidents.

As the white gas disappeared, Li Zhangsheng could clearly feel that the light spot representing the Gate of Heaven had become brighter, upgrading in one breath from a Low Grade Langhuan Supreme Treasure to a Mid-grade Langhuan Supreme Treasure.

At the same time, changes occurred on the portal of the Gate of Heaven; a vivid portrait of a Chongming Bird appeared on it.

With the upgrade of the Gate of Heaven, the power of the Gate of Light and Darkness was also improved to a certain extent, and the previously somewhat imbalanced situation became balanced again.

The only pity was that the Gate of Light and Darkness did not reach the Jipin Langhuan Zhibao level, but it was not far from it.

Li Zhangsheng thought for a moment and released another mass of soul from the Original Light. This time it was a soul with a black essence; it was the soul of a Demon Monarch.

As mentioned earlier, Li Zhangsheng had successively helped Wendi and Wudi kill two Demon Monarchs. He naturally did not let their souls go, but to avoid completely unbalancing the Gate of Light and Darkness, he had not let the Hell Gate devour them.

As soon as the Demon Monarch's soul came out, it wanted to escape.

Unfortunately, before it could take action, the Hell Gate released a massive suction force, instantly dragging the Demon Monarch's soul forcibly into the Gate of Heaven.

"Ah!"

The Demon Monarch's scream rang out, then stopped abruptly in an instant. Its soul was completely purified by the Purification Light, finally turning into a streak of pure black gas, which was transferred by the Gate of Heaven into the Hell Gate to begin merging.
