Chapter 172: Auctioning the Light and Dark Scroll (Second update, requesting everything as usual)

After collecting the assessment items, the four of them, Li Zhangsheng included, discussed it and finally decided to continue wandering in the Green Wild Forest until the assessment ended.

Li Zhangsheng's goal was very simple: to continue exploring the Green Wild Forest and contract High Quality Fairy. Of course, if he encountered Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasure, Light and Dark Scroll, or similar items, he would not let them go either.

Although they had collected a full set of Light and Dark Scroll, it did not mean they could not continue to collect more; they could completely trade them with others. He believed those wealthy children aiming for the Elite Class would absolutely shell out large amounts of cultivation resources.

That evening, under the envious gazes of Li Runfeng and Li Tianyu, Li Jingyi completed her breakthrough and became a Second-Rank Beast Master.

By the next morning, the four of them began exploring nearby dangerous areas. These so-called dangerous areas were equivalent to the Giant Ape Clan or snake pits, either possessing a large number of wild Spirit Beast or being the territory of Upper Rank Spirit Beast.

However, compared to other freshmen, these were naturally dangerous areas, but they posed little threat to the four of them. Through their concerted efforts, they gained quite a substantial harvest.

They did not find any Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasure; such things were too rare and could only be obtained by those with great fortune.

They did collect many materials. Some grew naturally, but more were materials from wild Spirit Beast. Some could be used as medicine, some could be used to craft Treasure or equipment, but most were materials for making Fairy Food.

In addition to materials, they also obtained a set of Light and Dark Scroll.

Furthermore, there was Li Zhangsheng's personal harvest; he had contracted two more High Quality Fairy, namely an Earth Bamboo Rat and an Orchid Sparrow, both of which were petite-sized Spirit Beast.

"Before leaving the Green Wild Forest, we must trade away these two extra Light and Dark Scroll!" Li Zhangsheng knew very well that the closer it got to the end of the assessment, the higher the price of the Light and Dark Scroll would be.

It was now the third day of the assessment; if one could not gather a full set of Light and Dark Scroll, one would lose the opportunity to enter the Elite Class this year.

Although one could participate in the assessment again next year, being slow by one step meant being slow in every step. Elite Class Member who had the Academy's resources tilted in their favor could completely use this to widen the gap with non-Elite Class members, which was also the main reason why many students flocked to the Elite Class.

The four of them rode their mounts and, in a flash, arrived at one of the exits of the Green Wild Forest in less than half an hour.

They did not leave the Green Wild Forest but lingered near the exit, waiting for a "fat sheep" to pass by.

Of course, they were not robbing the road, but rather looking to fleece a fat sheep.

While waiting for the fat sheep, the four of them even allocated the profits. At the unanimous request of the other three, Li Zhangsheng, who contributed the most, would take half of all the harvest, and the other three would split the remaining half equally.

Even so, the other three still felt they were taking advantage; after all, without Li Zhangsheng, they would have found it difficult to explore these dangerous areas, and naturally, there would not have been such a large harvest.

Li Zhangsheng did not think so. Although the other three's roles were not as significant as his, there was strength in numbers after all. Moreover, their strength was not bad, which greatly enhanced the team's deterrent power. During battles, they could also lure away large groups of low-to-mid-tier wild Spirit Beast, leaving Li Zhangsheng to only deal with the strongest few. Besides, they also scrambled to do the dirty and tiring work.

Furthermore, they would never know that the bulk of Li Zhangsheng's harvest was not these, but High Quality Fairy and Fairy Egg. The Superior Quality Three-Headed Snake alone was worth more than the sum of all other harvests, and if not for Li Jingyi's intelligence, Li Zhangsheng might very well have missed out on the Three-Headed Snake.

"Two more people are coming!" After half a day, Li Runfeng rode his mount to Li Zhangsheng. Among the four's duties, Li Zhangsheng was responsible for holding the fort, while the three of them took turns keeping watch.

In this half-day, six freshmen had already gathered here. If the two who had not yet arrived were added, that would be eight people.

"That's about enough!" Li Zhangsheng crossed his arms, deliberately keeping a stern face. It was not that he did not want to wait longer, but if the number of people was too high, it was easy for accidents to occur.

Soon, Li Runfeng led the two over.

These eight people were all First Rank freshmen.

"I won't waste words. The main reason I brought you here is that I have an extra set of Light and Dark Scroll. I have decided to auction this set. You can bid with Soul Crystal or resources; the highest bidder wins! There is one prerequisite here: in the upcoming Elite Class Class Monitor election, the student who successfully bids for the scroll must vote for me! Of course, you can also feign compliance and go back on your word, but you will bear the consequences!"

While they were digesting this news, Li Zhangsheng took out a Dark Scroll and shouted: "Auctioning the Dark Scroll first, starting price 100 Soul Crystal, each increment must not be less than 10 Soul Crystal!"

The eight people looked at each other, seeing eagerness and vigilance in everyone's eyes. Some of them had obtained one scroll, but more did not even have a single one.

After a while, a pockmarked youth tentatively shouted: "110 Soul Crystal!"

One stone stirred up a thousand waves; the others reacted one after another. For the Elite Class spot, they were naturally determined to win!

"120 Soul Crystal!"

"I bid 130 Soul Crystal!"

"150 Soul Crystal, no one try to snatch it from me!"

……

The next moment, the atmosphere of the auction suddenly became heated. The bidding for the Dark Scroll began to climb steadily, quickly reaching 200 Soul Crystal.

At this point, most buyers began to hesitate, clearly this price had reached their limit.

200 Soul Crystal was an amount many could not produce.

Li Zhangsheng's expression remained calm, his mouth constantly calling out the latest bid, trying to heat up the atmosphere and auction it off at a higher price.

Well, he had completely entered the role of an auctioneer; the higher the price, the more excited he felt.

"260 Soul Crystal!"

Just then, the pockmarked youth's voice rang out again. The other buyers collectively tended to go silent; the cost was too high, and this was just a Dark Scroll!

The pockmarked youth expressed great pain; he already had a Light Scroll and had to bleed to buy the Dark Scroll.

"Congratulations on successfully bidding for the Dark Scroll, don't forget what I just said!" While speaking, Li Zhangsheng handed the Dark Scroll to the pockmarked youth.

"Rest assured, I will keep my promise!" After both sides completed the transaction, the pockmarked youth, fearing someone would snatch it, hurried to leave the Green Wild Forest as fast as he could.

By the time the others reacted, the pockmarked youth had already left the Green Wild Forest. Among the remaining seven, two showed expressions of deep regret; if they had snatched it from the pockmarked youth, they could have become Elite Class Member.

"I will add one more thing: whoever bids for the Light Scroll will receive the protection of the four of us!" Before auctioning the Light Scroll, Li Zhangsheng said this, and the few buyers who wanted to bid for the Light Scroll but were afraid of being robbed suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.

"The old rules: Light Scroll starting price 100 Soul Crystal, each increment must not be less than 10 Soul Crystal, the auction begins!"

"200 Soul Crystal!" In an instant, someone took the lead, wanting to bluff the others.

"220 Soul Crystal!"

Unfortunately, after only a moment of silence, someone else began to increase the bid.

"230 Soul Crystal!"

"250 Soul Crystal!"

"280 Soul Crystal!"

"Wait a moment, Li Zhangsheng, take a look at how many Soul Crystal this item is worth first?"

Suddenly, a youth with an unremarkable appearance took out an item.
