Chapter 208: Suspected Location of the Treasure Map (Second update, requesting subscriptions)

At the first opportunity, Li Zhangsheng and the others looked toward Instructor Qian Yuanfei.

Instructor Qian Yuanfei shook his head and said, "I am only responsible for assisting you in registering for tasks; as for what kind of tasks you choose, that is for you to decide yourselves!"

After Instructor Qian Yuanfei refused, the four of them, including Yuan Yongyan, immediately looked at Li Zhangsheng again; he was their team leader, so naturally, he would take the lead.

Li Zhangsheng glanced at the task list a few times; it was divided into three difficulty levels: easy, normal, and difficult.

The targets for these three difficulty levels corresponded to the First Rank, Second Rank, and Third Rank respectively!

After thinking for a moment, he said softly, "This is what I think: before we establish a preliminary rapport, we should first take on normal-level tasks. Once we adapt to the intensity of the tasks, we can then take on difficult-level tasks based on our strength!"

Li Zhangsheng chose to prioritize stability; although the rewards for normal-difficulty tasks were not as good as those for difficult ones, they were easier to complete. If the efficiency of completion was high enough, they were actually no worse than difficult-difficulty tasks.

"Class Monitor, I think that with our team's strength, we should take on difficult-difficulty tasks. After all, our time is limited; we only have one week in total! If we delay too long, it is very likely we will be left behind by other teams!"

At this moment, Chen Yunfei put forward a different opinion.

A rookie with his heart set on the heavens!

Li Zhangsheng gave Chen Yunfei an evaluation in his heart; this guy hadn't even reached the Second Rank yet, but he wanted to take on a difficult-level task. Did he not know that the people most likely to die in these tasks were students like him who hadn't reached the Second Rank yet?

"Chen Yunfei, the Class Monitor naturally has his concerns! Do you think the Class Monitor doesn't want to compete for first place? He is the number one person in our Elite Class!"

Unexpectedly, the first person to support Li Zhangsheng was not Li Tianyu, but Yuan Yongyan.

"The Class Monitor is absolutely right. We don't even have a shred of rapport, yet we want to take on high-difficulty tasks; isn't that a path to self-destruction?"

"I also agree with the Class Monitor's decision!"

Li Tianyu and Wang Ding also spoke up one after another; they naturally stood on Li Zhangsheng's side.

Opposed by three teammates, Chen Yunsheng felt resentful inside, but he could only suppress his anger and remain silent.

Li Zhangsheng couldn't be bothered to care about him; this guy was a bit conceited. The targets for difficult-difficulty tasks were either Third-rank Royal Beast Masters, Elite-level Spirit Beasts, or several Upper Rank Spirit Beasts. The rewards for these tasks were very high, and Li Zhangsheng was also tempted, but if an accident occurred, it would undoubtedly pose a great danger to team members like Chen Yunfei who had not yet reached the Second Rank.

At this moment, Instructor Qian Yuanfei, who hadn't been saying much, glanced at Li Zhangsheng and suddenly said, "Xu Xiangzhi's team has taken on a difficult-difficulty task!"

"What tasks they take is their business! Instructor, please do not incite us. I don't care about their lives, nor can I control them, but I will try my best to preserve the lives of my team members!"

Li Zhangsheng spread his hands; his words earned the gratitude of Li Tianyu and Wang Ding, and even Chen Yunsheng's mood improved significantly.

At this moment, Li Zhangsheng took a look at the other teams.

Zhao Shuyi also tended to choose normal-difficulty tasks, Zhang Yi was having some disputes with his teammates, and Xu Xiangzhi had already left the classroom full of confidence after taking on a difficult-difficulty task.

Watching Xu Xiangzhi's team leave, Li Zhangsheng rubbed his chin; this time, he feared someone would truly lose their life.

And judging by Instructor Qian Yuanfei's deliberate incitement, Li Zhangsheng had reason to suspect that students might die this time to achieve the goal of "beating the grass to scare the snake," allowing the other students to mature as quickly as possible.

Li Zhangsheng had to admit that this was a cost-effective deal!

"Alright, the minority obeys the majority! Of course, if anyone is unwilling, I will not force you; you can go take on tasks by yourselves!"

Li Zhangsheng paused, then pointed to one of the tasks and said, "The location of this task is not very far from us, and the task difficulty is moderate. Let's use it to practice first!"

This was a task to hunt down Demonized Fairies. Hmm, Demonized Fairies are Spirit Beasts contaminated by Abyssal Demonic Qi. Even the kindest herbivorous Spirit Beast, once its mind is eroded and polluted by Demonic Qi, will lose all reason and spend its life with the sole purpose of killing.

"This is the task information!"

After Li Zhangsheng accepted the task, Instructor Qian Yuanfei handed a piece of paper to Li Zhangsheng, which contained the detailed information of the task.

Task: Wipe out the Demonized Fairies of Black Wind Mountain!

Target: Slay one Upper Rank Demonized Fairy, ten Intermediate Level Demonized Fairies, and one hundred Inferior Level Demonized Fairies!

Note: There are no Demonized Fairies above the Elite level in Black Wind Mountain and the surrounding area!

Reward: 50 Academic Credits!

The task was a bit troublesome, but the reward was quite generous. If divided equally among five people, each person would get 10 Academic Credits!

However, the distribution method for task rewards was not an equal split, but rather "more work, more pay," and this aspect was the responsibility of the team-leading instructor.

According to the description of this task, naturally, the more and stronger the Demonized Fairies killed, the greater the contribution, and the more rewards allocated, which fit Li Zhangsheng's requirements very well.

"We are going to Black Wind Mountain now!"

After accepting the task, Li Zhangsheng led his team members out of the classroom, with Instructor Qian Yuanfei following behind at a leisurely pace.

With only one week of time, Li Zhangsheng had to complete as many tasks as possible. There was no help for it; after buying the Starry Sky Auction House, his pockets were empty again.

Completing tasks could earn Academic Credits, and if he took first place, he would also receive extra rewards; in his eyes, these were all resources.

Yuanling Academy prohibited flying, so Li Zhangsheng had no choice but to lead everyone to walk quickly out of Yuanling Academy before releasing their respective Flying Demon Pets.

Li Zhangsheng chose the Paradise Bird. Although the Paradise Bird's speed was not as good as the Fire Element bird, it was enough for traveling, and this could also prevent the Fire Element bird from being too exhausted.

Moreover, the Paradise Bird was comfortable to sit on. Although the flames on the Fire Element bird would not cause harm to Li Zhangsheng, its own temperature was high, which felt to Li Zhangsheng like sitting on a fifty or sixty-degree fire pit. It was indescribably uncomfortable, and every minute was a torment; he was truly afraid that if he sat for too long, his little bird would be roasted!

Black Wind Mountain was two or three hundred miles away from the Academy District, but at the speed of Flying Demon Pets, they could arrive in just an hour or two.

Since Black Wind Mountain had birthed a large number of Demonized Fairies, it was naturally not very far from the Abyss Gate.

The reason Li Zhangsheng chose this task was, firstly, that it was closer to the Academy District, and secondly, he wanted to take the opportunity to learn about the Abyss.

If they really accidentally encountered a powerful demon, there was Instructor Qian Yuanfei to handle it. Moreover, Black Wind Mountain was not within the range covered by the Abyssal Demonic Qi of the Abyss Gate, so naturally, no powerful demons would leave without authorization; otherwise, their strength would be severely suppressed by the World Consciousness.

After more than two hours, Black Wind Mountain entered the view of Li Zhangsheng and the others. Unlike the others, Li Zhangsheng's gaze was attracted by a towering mountain in the distance.

The appearance of this mountain had a high degree of similarity to the Treasure Map left behind by his father!
