Chapter 240: Superior Quality Royal Griffin (First Update)

"Damn it!" Lin Yaodong cursed under his breath. His face was deathly pale, but in a life-or-death situation, even knowing it might aggravate his injuries, he still forced himself to endure the mental shock and cast Instant Movement.

Before being hit by the torrent of energy, Lin Yaodong suddenly vanished, appearing immediately afterward on the back of the Wild Winged Tiger. He swayed violently, opened his mouth to spray a mouthful of blood, and his expression became even more listless.

"Go!"

Under Lin Yaodong's command, the Wild Winged Tiger flapped its wings, a flash of cyan light appearing on its body as if it had donned a cyan Wind Cloak. Its speed was extremely fast, like an arrow released from a bow, as it prepared to flee at maximum speed.

Although the Wild Winged Tiger was not a Leader-level Demon Pet, it excelled in speed, and in terms of speed, it was not inferior to the Light Ancestor Bird at all.

Most importantly, Lin Yaodong's Life-Bound Demon Pet was not the Light Ancestor Bird, but this Wild Winged Tiger.

While fleeing, Lin Yaodong directed the Light Ancestor Bird to launch area-of-effect skills to buy time for their escape.

Chirp~

In the sky, the Light Ancestor Bird let out a cry, its entire body beginning to shine brilliantly. Dazzling radiance condensed, transforming into dozens of substantial three-inch light arrows that swept down toward the ground.

Although the light arrows were fast, Li Wenbo's reaction was no less swift. Before the light arrows could sweep over, his Leader-level Demon Pet, the Savage Giant Bear, immediately raised a massive Earth Wall, blocking all the light arrows.

At the same time, Li Zhangsheng and the others directed their Flying Demon Pets to pursue while having their remaining Demon Pets surround and attack the Light Ancestor Bird.

Among the pursuing Flying Demon Pets were three Thick-Backed Hawks; these were large flying Spirit Beasts specifically raised by the Li Clan, though their greatest trait was endurance.

Besides these, there were Li Zhangsheng's Flamingo and Kailan, as well as Li Wenbo's Royal Griffin.

【Spirit Beast Name】: Royal Griffin (Mature Stage, Mid-grade Exotic Beast)

【Spirit Beast Realm】: Leader 9th Rank

【Spirit Beast Race】: High-level Commander

【Spirit Beast Quality】: Superior Quality

【Spirit Beast Bloodline】: None

【Spirit Beast Attribute】: Wind

【Spirit Beast Status】: Healthy

【Spirit Beast Weakness】: Thunder

The Royal Griffin was an evolved form of the Griffin and was Li Wenbo's second Leader-level Demon Pet, as well as the only Superior Quality Demon Pet in his possession. It was precisely by relying on the two Leader-level Demon Pets in his hands that Li Wenbo was able to suppress Lin Yaodong.

As a Wind Element Demon Pet, the Royal Griffin was naturally known for its speed. Because the Wild Winged Tiger was carrying Lin Yaodong, the distance between the two began to gradually close.

The Wild Winged Tiger fled in a panic, but no matter how Lin Yaodong urged it, its speed could not increase further. Once the Rise Wind buff disappeared, the situation became clearly unfavorable for it.

Within a few breaths, the Wild Winged Tiger entered the Royal Griffin's long-range attack radius, but the Royal Griffin rationally chose not to launch an offensive, instead continuing to close the distance.

The Royal Griffin had been trained by Li Wenbo for decades; even without a Monster Tamer's command, it still possessed excellent discipline.

Lin Yaodong's heart sank. Trembling, he took a blood-colored Alchemical Pill from his bosom and swallowed it in one gulp. His face immediately gained a bit of unhealthy color, and he forcibly suppressed his shaken Consciousness Sea.

It was also at this moment that the Royal Griffin finally drew close to the Wild Winged Tiger. It rapidly flapped its powerful wings, its speed surging once more, targeting Lin Yaodong on the Wild Winged Tiger's back.

Once caught by the Royal Griffin, its sharp eagle beak would instantly gouge a bloody hole in the opponent's body, not to mention its talons, which were far thicker and more powerful than ordinary eagle claws; a single strike would be enough to finish off Lin Yaodong.

At the critical moment, the Wild Winged Tiger beneath Lin Yaodong flashed with cyan light, seemingly turning into a Residual Shadow. It not only dodged the Royal Griffin's attack but also performed a beautiful backflip, appearing in the sky behind the Royal Griffin.

However, the Wild Winged Tiger did not launch a counterattack, instead continuing to charge toward the direction of Luo City.

At the same time, Lin Yaodong endured his discomfort and quickly activated the Mental Acceleration and Gravity Secret Technique Imprints.

Among them, Mental Acceleration was cast on the Wild Winged Tiger, causing its speed to surge in a short time; Gravity acted on the space near the Royal Griffin, causing the gravity on the Royal Griffin to increase significantly. Its movements noticeably faltered, and it nearly fell from the sky.

The Royal Griffin flapped its wings with effort and finally rushed out of the Gravity range. However, relying on Mental Acceleration and Gravity, the Wild Winged Tiger took the opportunity to pull away a distance of a hundred meters.

Most importantly, Luo City had already appeared in his field of vision.

Seeing Luo City in the distance, Lin Yaodong breathed a sigh of relief. As long as he was given a little more time, he believed he would definitely be able to escape with his life this time.

Yet, just at this moment, Lin Yaodong felt a sweetness in his throat and looked up to spray a large mouthful of blood. His face was like gold paper, and his aura was extremely listless.

The Consciousness Sea, which had been forcibly suppressed by the power of the Alchemical Pill, surged violently once again, and it was far more intense than before.

"How is this possible!" Lin Yaodong's body swayed violently, his vision going black, and he fell directly from the Wild Winged Tiger's back, looking as if he were about to be smashed into a pulp.

The Wild Winged Tiger hurriedly dove down, catching him a step ahead before Lin Yaodong could make contact with the ground.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Royal Griffin also dove down, clawing several wounds deep enough to see bone into the Wild Winged Tiger's back.

Roar~

The Wild Winged Tiger let out an angry roar, enduring the intense pain on its back as it picked up its unconscious master. Ignoring the brawling Royal Griffin, it tried to fly toward Luo City.

But after this interruption, the Flamingo trailing behind and Kailan standing on it had already caught up.

As for the three Thick-Backed Hawks, the largest one was still clutching the corpse of the Light Ancestor Bird. It turned out that while the Royal Griffin was chasing the Wild Winged Tiger, the Light Ancestor Bird had risked severe injury to successfully flee the battlefield. If it had fled in another direction, it might have been fine, but it had chosen the direction of Luo City.

Consequently, the Light Ancestor Bird met a tragic end. The three Thick-Backed Hawks, seeing they could not catch the Wild Winged Tiger, immediately abandoned the pursuit upon discovering the Light Ancestor Bird trailing behind. They turned to surround and attack the Light Ancestor Bird, and in the end, the Light Ancestor Bird died, outnumbered.

With the death of the Light Ancestor Bird, the mental shock that had been forcibly suppressed by Lin Yaodong's Alchemical Pill was reactivated, bringing an even more intense backlash that directly caused Lin Yaodong to fall into a coma.
