Chapter 335: Crushing the Number One Student of the First Year at Tiandu Academy (Second Update,)

Unlike the Thunder Pegasus, the Flame Bird was almost unaffected; taking advantage of the moment the Thunder Pegasus retreated, it seized the opportunity to launch a charge.

Flame Charge!

A vast expanse of flames suddenly surged across the Flame Bird's body. Propelled by the flames, its speed increased significantly, as if it had transformed into a firebird soaring with wings spread, crashing toward the Thunder Pegasus.

In terms of combat style, the Thunder Pegasus and the Flame Bird were quite similar, both being adept at both long and short-range combat. However, due to the Blazing Sun Weather, Duan Chen chose to avoid the enemy's strength and strike at their weakness.

"Thunder Pegasus, Lightning Flash!"

Under Duan Chen's command, the Thunder Pegasus seemed to turn into a bolt of lightning. At this moment, its speed surged to the extreme, almost brushing past the Flame Bird, and it took the opportunity to put some distance between them.

"Take this chance to use Thunder Strike!"

Just as the Flame Bird spread its wings to pursue, the lightning mark on the Thunder Pegasus's forehead flashed wildly. In an instant, a lightning bolt as thick as a water barrel struck straight down at the Flame Bird below.

"Ignore it, Dragon Breath!"

Under Li Zhangsheng's command, the Flame Bird's belly visibly caved in, and it spat out a much hotter pillar of flame from its sharp Bird Beak.

Compared to the previous flame pillar, the Scorching Dragon Breath was clearly thicker and the temperature was even more intense; its power was naturally incomparable.

In an instant, the lightning strike hit the Flame Bird hard. The Flame Bird let out a mournful cry and plummeted like a downed aircraft.

Before falling, the Thunder Pegasus was also hit head-on by the Scorching Dragon Breath and was engulfed in the scorching flames.

Neigh~

Under the erosion of the Dragon Breath, the shrill, miserable screams of the Thunder Pegasus could be heard. Immediately after, it rushed out covered in fire; those who didn't know better would have thought it was a Fire Pegasus.

Having taken the Scorching Dragon Breath head-on, the Thunder Pegasus's magnificent purple fur was mostly scorched, and in many places, it was still burning fiercely, causing it secondary damage.

The Thunder Pegasus shook its body vigorously, electric currents surging all over it, making a crackling sound, and instantly extinguished the flames burning on its body.

Before landing, the Flame Bird stopped its momentum a step earlier and lunged at the Thunder Pegasus once more.

Duan Chen's expression was very grim. Although that round could be considered a draw, anyone with a discerning eye could see that the Thunder Pegasus had suffered heavier injuries.

This was related to the Blazing Sun Weather and was also closely tied to the power of the Dragon Breath. As a signature skill of dragons, Dragon Breath possessed three major characteristics: high power, fast activation, and no cooldown.

"That's it, wear it down!" Li Zhangsheng thought to himself. He had to win this match before the Blazing Sun Weather ended, or at the very least, gain more of an advantage.

The duration of the Blazing Sun Weather was related to the Flame Bird's rank; as the Flame Bird's rank increased, the duration of the Blazing Sun Weather would also increase accordingly.

The current Flame Bird could maintain the skill for three minutes!

Three minutes might seem short, but for intense Demon Pet battles, it could often determine the course of a match.

In the sky, two powerful Demon Pets were locked in a fierce confrontation. The difference in speed between them was not large, and coupled with the limitations of the arena, the Thunder Pegasus was unable to shake off the Flame Bird, and instead, the Flame Bird took the opportunity to gain quite a few advantages.

Duan Chen's brows furrowed. If things continued like this, even if he really managed to drag it out until the Blazing Sun Weather ended, he feared the Thunder Pegasus would suffer heavy damage. By that time, he feared the Thunder Pegasus would never be able to recover from its decline.

Without a doubt, the situation was very unfavorable for him.

"Thunder Pegasus, Volt Charge!" Duan Chen gritted his teeth and immediately changed his tactical approach, but changing it at this moment was perhaps a bit too late.

In the sky, intense golden electric currents appeared on the Thunder Pegasus. While counteracting the wind, it also utilized the lightning to stimulate the muscles in its body, rapidly enhancing its explosive power.

The next moment, the Thunder Pegasus stopped fighting while retreating; its speed increased by a notch, and it actively charged madly toward the Flame Bird.

Resist Fire Ring!

Just at this moment, the Flame Bird's entire body erupted with scorching flames, which then exploded with a boom. A huge ring of fire, centered on the Flame Bird, rapidly expanded outward.

The Resist Fire Ring carried a powerful impact force, capable of forcibly repelling things around it while inflicting fire damage on surrounding enemies.

Under the amplification of the Blazing Sun Weather, the power and range of the Resist Fire Ring increased greatly. In the sky, the Thunder Pegasus and the Resist Fire Ring seemed to reach a stalemate, but the electric currents on the Thunder Pegasus's body vanished first, and it was then involuntarily pushed away by the Resist Fire Ring.

Explosive Flame Dance!

While pushing the Thunder Pegasus away, the Flame Bird flapped its wings frantically, and streaks of flame danced wildly on its body. The Flame Bird seemed to transform into a giant Undying Firebird, crashing at high speed into the Thunder Pegasus, which had stopped its retreat.

"I'll risk it, Thunderclap!" Duan Chen's expression changed abruptly. The Thunder Pegasus had already lost the best time to dodge, so he could only choose to trade injury for injury.

The Thunder Pegasus outputted electric current at maximum load. A large amount of electricity surged into the sky, and a dark cloud instantly formed, wreathed in golden electric currents. Immediately after, before being hit by the Flame Bird, golden lightning pillars as thick as water barrels fell madly, engulfing the entire space below.

Boom~ Boom-rumble~

The firebird form of the Flame Bird hit the Thunder Pegasus first. While knocking it flying head-on, the flames attached to the Flame Bird's body exploded, sweeping toward the surroundings.

In the blink of an eye, the Thunder Pegasus was assaulted by the raging flames, and accompanied by a shrill neigh, it turned into a horse of fire and plummeted from the sky.

The next moment, the Flame Bird didn't have time to dodge and was hit by several lightning pillars. Countless electric currents wreathed its body, making a crackling sound. The Flame Bird felt its whole body go numb and likewise plummeted from the sky.

Thud~ Thud~

The sounds of hitting the ground one after another rang out. The two Demon Pets fell heavily to the ground, actually smashing out two large craters, which brought them secondary damage.

The Thunder Pegasus, which had almost turned into charcoal, struggled to stand up, but unfortunately, it seemed to aggravate its injuries in the process. A look of pain appeared in its eyes, and it collapsed to the ground again, never to climb up again.

Unlike the Thunder Pegasus, the Flame Bird stood up easily and let out a loud cry toward the sky. In the duel with the Thunder Pegasus, it hadn't even suffered heavy damage, though its injuries were not light either; even with the excellent healing effects of Life Water, it would take some time to fully recover.

"The Thunder Pegasus has lost the ability to battle. Given that contestant Duan Chen's three Demon Pets have all been defeated, this match is won by Li Zhangsheng of Yuanling Academy! The loser shall exit, and the winner is requested to wait at the contestant's bench!"

At this moment, the referee looked at the ashen-faced Duan Chen with sympathy and announced the match result.

Thud~

Duan Chen's face was pale and his eyes were listless. He came from a noble background, was a direct descendant of a King Family, and was the number one student in the first year of Tiandu Academy. He had reached the Third Rank at a young age and was highly regarded by his family and the Academy. Who would have thought he would be easily defeated by Li Zhangsheng, in a crushing defeat at that.
