Chapter 51: Intermediate Food Recipe

After the battle ended, Aixi returned carrying the middle-aged Monster Tamer's corpse, threw it on the ground, and watched Li Zhangsheng loot the body.

Unlike last time, even with two mangled corpses in front of him, Li Zhangsheng did not feel much discomfort this time; after experiencing such a thing once, one adapts quickly the second time.

If you do not kill others, others will come to kill you; in this world possessing supernatural powers, there is never a lack of fighting and killing.

Li Zhangsheng rummaged through the two corpses and pulled out all the items on them.

Soon, a pile of miscellaneous items appeared to the side.

The items seemed numerous, but most were just cheap healing medicines, Fairy Food, and materials.

Among them were also some Demon Cores and two Low-grade Soul Crystals; judging by their assets, they were surely "Loose Cultivators" without an organization.

Besides these, there were two items Li Zhangsheng valued: a collar and a book.

The collar was entirely bright silver, inlaid with a few tiny milky-white gemstones that shimmered under the sunlight, giving one a feeling of warmth.

Li Zhangsheng projected his Mental Power, and from the feedback of his Mental Power, he could sense that the collar contained a certain amount of milky-white energy, possessing a power nature that warmed the heart.

This was a Light-type Treasure, and the energy it contained was not much different from the Wind Ribbon; it was a genuine low-level Light-type Treasure. As long as it was placed in the Spirit Pet Space by a Light-type Demon Pet, it could likely increase the power of Light-type skills by ten percent.

"Paradise Bird, this is yours!"

Li Zhangsheng wore a smile on his face as he casually tossed the Light-type collar to the Paradise Bird; the Light-type collar shrank rapidly and was finally stored by the Paradise Bird into its Spirit Pet Space.

The next moment, a sparse milky-white halo appeared on the Paradise Bird's body; this was because the Light-type collar had begun to take effect, and it vanished in the blink of an eye.

With the amplification of the Light-type collar, the power of the Paradise Bird's Light-type skills was boosted, and its Light-type healing skills were also within the scope of the amplification; it could be said that everyone was happy.

"By the way, Kailan, this Emerald Orb is for you!" Li Zhangsheng took out the Emerald Orb again and handed it to Kailan; with the Emerald Treasure, both recovery-type skills and the Healing Spring could be significantly improved.

"Wow, so pretty!" As soon as Kailan saw the Emerald Orb, their eyes seemed to light up, just like a girl who loves shiny jewelry; they couldn't wait to put away the Emerald Orb, fearing that Li Zhangsheng might go back on his word.

A rich green halo emerged, giving one a quite comfortable feeling, as if one were in the midst of nature.

It was also at this time that Li Zhangsheng picked up the last book; the book was very thin, totaling only a few pages, and was filled with a large amount of text and formulas.

"Eh, Intermediate Fairy Food Recipe!" Seeing the name on it, Li Zhangsheng exclaimed in surprise, and a smile could not help but appear on his face.

Compared to low-level food recipes, intermediate food recipes were clearly much rarer, and the Intermediate Sprite Food prepared from them had effects far exceeding low-level Fairy Food. As long as it was fed to Demon Pets, it could more quickly increase the Demon Pets' strength.

However, compared to low-level food recipes, intermediate food recipes clearly required more materials, which were often more precious; however, these materials were still in the category of conventional materials, and the difficulty of collecting them was not high—one only needed to take a trip to the Fairy Market to get it done.

"Rest in peace!" After putting away the spoils, Li Zhangsheng had the Burrowing Mouse dig a large pit and buried the two corpses.

Soon, after cleaning up the traces of the battle, Li Zhangsheng returned to the Fairy Market and went straight to the shop selling materials.

Various materials were sold here, some common and some rare; Li Zhangsheng's main goal was to gather the materials on the recipe so he could produce the Intermediate Sprite Food as soon as possible.

"This is the material list!" Li Zhangsheng handed the prepared material list to the shop assistant; to avoid leaking the recipe, he also added a few common materials.

"Please wait a moment!" After saying this, the shop assistant began to collect the materials on the list.

Not waiting long, the shop assistant placed the collected materials in front of Li Zhangsheng, counted them once in front of Li Zhangsheng, and after confirming there were no omissions, sorted them into a wooden box, finally made them into a package, and handed it to Li Zhangsheng.

Besides the materials, there were also several tools for making food; this also cost Li Zhangsheng a significant price, but judging by the quantity of materials, as long as they were all prepared, it would be enough to supply a few Demon Pets for a period of time.

"It's getting late, time to go back!" With all matters concluded, Li Zhangsheng did not linger and rode the Paradise Bird back to the Manor.

Since the daylight was about to fade, Li Zhangsheng had no intention of training his Demon Pets; he went straight back to his room and couldn't wait to take out the Intermediate Fairy Food Recipe, working hard to memorize the content on it.

He was, after all, a Monster Tamer who specialized in Mental Power; even though he was still at the First Rank, his memory was still far superior to ordinary people. Moreover, the recipe only had a few pages in total, so even if the formulas were relatively complex, they still couldn't stump Li Zhangsheng.

First, memorize the recipe content, focusing on the placement process, proportions, and timing.

Second, the moisture content of the materials would also affect the taste of the food and to a certain extent affect the success rate of production; to avoid this situation, the materials needed to be prepared in advance.

Finally, according to the category of the materials, grind them into powder, slice them, cut them into sections, and then put them into different containers for storage, taking them out when needed.

Under his powerful memory, Li Zhangsheng quickly memorized the recipe content.

As the saying goes, practice is the sole criterion for testing truth.

After confirming there were no omissions, Li Zhangsheng first processed the materials, then set up the tools, and couldn't wait to start production.

Compared to low-level Fairy Food, the production process for Intermediate Sprite Food was more complex; it was not just an increase in materials and tools, but the production method was also harder to master.

It was Li Zhangsheng's first time making intermediate food; even though he had memorized the recipe flow, it still gave one a feeling of being flustered.

Not long after, Li Zhangsheng finished the production; this was a granular food.

Unfortunately, due to his technique being too unskilled, the shape and color of the food were different from the description in the recipe, and the smell was even worse, with a burnt feeling.

"Aixi, you've worked hard during this time! Come, this is food I specially prepared for you; I guarantee you'll be surprised!"

Li Zhangsheng remained calm on the surface, placed the prepared food in the feeding bowl, and pushed it in front of Aixi.

Aixi looked at Li Zhangsheng strangely; it was Li Zhangsheng's Life-Bound Demon Pet and had established an extremely solid mental connection with Li Zhangsheng, so it could feel Li Zhangsheng's joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness.

This time, Aixi felt a sense of malice!

Without hesitation, Aixi shook its head and resolutely chose to refuse!

"Tch, really not cute!" Li Zhangsheng spread his hands, but he did not give up; he opened the Monster Pet Bag, let the Burrowing Mouse out, and repeated the process again.

Unlike Aixi, the Burrowing Mouse with the Temporary Contract could not feel Li Zhangsheng's "malice," and coupled with its gluttonous nature, it immediately buried its head into the feeding bowl in high spirits.

The next moment, the Burrowing Mouse's movements stopped abruptly; there was no longer any excitement in its eyes, and instead, it raised its head, revealing an expression of disgust, and spat out all the food in its mouth.

The Burrowing Mouse looked at Li Zhangsheng pitifully, revealing an expression of "I've been wronged, you need to compensate me."

Undoubtedly, this was a dark dish.

"Refining failed! Is it the moisture content? Or is there a deviation in the material proportions? Or perhaps I didn't grasp the placement time?" Li Zhangsheng ignored the Burrowing Mouse's expression and pondered with his right hand supporting his chin.

To master a food recipe, there is undoubtedly a step-by-step process; the requirement for talent in this aspect is not very high, as it mainly lies in proficiency.

That night, Li Zhangsheng tried to make a few more portions, but unfortunately, they all ended in failure; he only gained a bit of proficiency, and he was still some distance away from mastering it.
