Chapter 867: The Inheritance of the Founding Principal (First update, requesting everything)

Ning Bizhen is fine; although she is the distinguished Vice Principal of the Academy, her performance in this Heavenly Dao Secret Realm was not as good as Li Zhangsheng's, and she lacks the exaggerated battle record of independently killing a Demon Commander, so she can be rewarded entirely with Academic Credits.

Li Zhangsheng is different; his Authority within the Academy has already reached the point where it cannot be raised further, and this time he has brought such immense influence to the Academy that he has reached the point where he cannot be rewarded further.

If he were rewarded solely with Academic Credits, the number would surely be quite exaggerated, and it might potentially collapse the Academy's credit exchange system.

Most importantly, whether Li Zhangsheng could even use such a large amount of Academic Credits is a question in itself.

Simply put, the highest Authority exchange manual of Yuanling Academy contains almost nothing that Li Zhangsheng would find desirable.

In the conference room, Xu Wenhua, acting as Principal, represented the various high-level officials, first affirming the achievements of both, and then proceeding to announce the rewards.

Ning Bizhen not only received 300,000 Academic Credits but also obtained a lifetime Credit Exchange Half-Price Benefit.

"Changsheng, we have decided to reward you with one million Academic Credits and a chance to receive the inheritance of the founding Principal. As for whether you can obtain the founding Principal's inheritance, that will depend on yourself."

Xu Wenhua sighed, then solemnly took an archaic token from his bosom.

This is the Identity Token that the founding Principal carried for many years; even though the founding Principal fell over two hundred years ago, his aura is still preserved on it, which is also the most special thing about this token.

The founding Principal's inheritance is on the Spirit Gathering Stele; ever since the founding Principal fell, no one has ever obtained his complete inheritance, including his descendants.

This token can grant Li Zhangsheng the opportunity to obtain the founding Principal's inheritance, but an Emperor Rank is different from an ordinary Monster Tamer; the difficulty of wanting to obtain the founding Principal's inheritance is not ordinary at all.

Furthermore, even if one obtains the founding Principal's inheritance, it is highly probable that it will be incomplete, or perhaps only a tiny fraction of the inheritance; these are all things that have happened before.

The complete inheritance of an Emperor Rank far exceeds partial inheritances in value; this is just like how Li Zhangsheng obtained part of the memories of Flame King Di Zhiyi—these memories were intermittent, mostly incomplete, and very little could be used by Li Zhangsheng.

Xu Wenhua paused and continued, "By the way, Changsheng, we have also prepared to erect a gilded statue for you, and the location will be in the center."

Li Zhangsheng is not an Emperor Rank; logically speaking, even if a gilded statue were erected, it should not be placed in the center, because this signifies that he will replace the founding Principal's original position and become the person who has contributed the most to Yuanling Academy, and the significance represented by this can be imagined.

However, the contributions Li Zhangsheng has made over these two years are truly too great; in this regard, even the founding Principal cannot catch up.

In the first year, Li Zhangsheng led the precarious Yuanling Academy to successfully secure a spot in the top four of the Academy Exchange Tournament and regained the title of the Second Academy.

In the second year, Li Zhangsheng turned the tide, breaking the Royal Academy's monopoly on the First Academy for nearly three hundred years, forcefully winning the seat of the First Academy for Yuanling Academy; this was also the first time Yuanling Academy became the First Academy of Langya Kingdom, naturally creating history.

In the same year, Li Zhangsheng and Ning Bizhen jointly won the top two spots in the National Tournament, and shortly after that, he independently killed a Demon Commander as a Pseudo-King, and in the Heavenly Dao Secret Realm, he suppressed Kun King Yan Wanling to become the number one person in the Heavenly Dao Secret Realm.

All of the above simply exceeds the imagination of ordinary people; in terms of contributions to Yuanling Academy, not a single past Principal can compare, including the founding Principal who established Yuanling Academy.

Most importantly, during the founding Principal's tenure, his achievements could be said to be few and far between; the reason his statue is located in the center is mainly because he founded Yuanling Academy, and coupled with the fact that he was the only Emperor Rank in the history of Yuanling Academy, he became the face of the Academy.

Although Li Zhangsheng is not yet an Emperor Rank, he is better than an Emperor Rank; after all, he independently killed a Demon Commander comparable to an Emperor Rank, a feat most Emperor Ranks cannot accomplish, let alone a Pseudo-King.

It can be said that this is an honor unique to Li Zhangsheng, which will surely be written into the history of the continent, showing the extent of the sensation it causes.

In a sense, Li Zhangsheng's importance even exceeds that of an ordinary Emperor Rank.

Being able to erect a statue in the Academy as a student is something that has never happened before in Yuanling Academy, let alone erecting the statue in the center position; for many students and Instructors, this is simply a fantasy.

But, Li Zhangsheng did it!

Li Zhangsheng had the intention to refuse, but unfortunately, he did not receive the consent of the high-level officials; they unanimously believed that Li Zhangsheng absolutely deserved that position.

Li Zhangsheng had no choice but to agree; he felt that he was already very high-profile, and even if another statue were erected, it would just be more dinner-table conversation for some people, especially since the limitations of this topic are quite large, and those discussing it would mostly be people related to Yuanling Academy.

Accompanied by Xu Wenhua, Li Zhangsheng entered the ancestral hall in the Cemetery area.

On the stone platform, the statue of the founding Principal wore a smile, and his spirit tablet and incense burner stood below it.

"Pay respects to the founding Principal!"

Xu Wenhua waved his hand, and two sticks of incense flew from the stone platform, landing in the hands of the two.

In an instant, the incense sticks ignited automatically, emitting wisps of fragrance.

Li Zhangsheng followed Xu Wenhua, paying respects to the founding Principal's statue with a solemn expression, and finally inserted the incense into the incense burner.

At this moment, Xu Wenhua took out a Jade Scepter, which resonated with the founding Principal's statue.

The next moment, the Jade Scepter floated slightly, and after a swipe across the empty space to the side, a three-meter-high space gate slowly opened.

"Go in!"

After putting away the Jade Scepter, Xu Wenhua entered the space gate first.

Li Zhangsheng followed him in, and amidst a dizzying spin, he appeared in a desolate space; this was the Secret Realm opened up by the founding Principal back then.

Compared to when he entered the year before last, this Secret Realm is still very desolate, and its area seems to have shrunk a little.

Clearly, the Academy does not intend to maintain this Secret Realm.

Firstly, maintaining the Secret Realm requires massive resources; secondly, this Secret Realm has been desolate for too long, and it would require massive resources to revitalize it; thirdly, the area of this Secret Realm has already shrunk too much, and continuing to maintain it is not worth the loss.

Soon, the two entered the Yuanling Hall.

At the end of the Yuanling Hall, the two arrived before the tall Spirit Gathering Stele.

From the feedback of his Mental Power, the Spirit Gathering Stele has already reached the rank of a Mid-grade World Wonder.

Xu Wenhua sighed and said, "Whether you can obtain the founding Principal's inheritance depends on your own fortune."

Li Zhangsheng took out the founding Principal's token and pressed it against the Spirit Gathering Stele.

In an instant, the Spirit Gathering Stele reacted.
