Chapter 952: Underworld Rebirth Grass (Third update, seeking everything)

Because he had been busy all this time, Li Zhangsheng had forgotten about this Dimensional Bag for a moment.

Now that he had the time, he naturally had to open it and take a look.

Although the Demon Commander's collection was primarily composed of "local specialties" from the Abyss, it certainly did not lack items from the Heavens and Myriad Worlds; after all, the Abyss invaded like fire and had to engage in Blood War from time to time, dealing with planes led by Hell and Heaven Mountain.

Even so, the Abyss still did not fall much behind, which was something that could not be helped; the Abyss was too vast, and a massive number of demons were born every moment—even if most of these demons died at the hands of their own kind, it was still a very large base number.

Soon, Li Zhangsheng opened the Dimensional Bag and dumped all the items inside out in one go.

This Dimensional Bag was tens of thousands of cubic meters in size, and the stored items were not few; they piled up into a small hill covering dozens of square meters in the Treasure Vault.

Under the control of his Mental Power, these items began to be sorted into categories, and the classification work was completed before long.

Among them, the most numerous were Magic Stones, which were also the basic currency in the Abyss, with their grade determined based on the purity and content of the Demonic Qi.

Unfortunately, this batch of Magic Stones was of no use to Li Zhangsheng for the time being; perhaps he would only be able to use them when he entered the Abyss in the future.

Next were the Soul Crystals and Demon Cores; before Li Zhangsheng killed the Demon Commander, it had indeed wiped out several cities in the Hu Kingdom, and naturally, many Monster Tamers had fallen victim to its poison.

Not only that, but as a Demon Commander, it also had to receive a share of the spoils from its subordinates.

These Soul Crystals were mostly Low-grade Soul Crystals, with only a dozen or so Superior Soul Crystals, and as for Demon Cores, it went without saying—there wasn't even a Demon King-level Demon Core.

Next were the Soul Coins made by demons using souls; every single coin had a dynamic mask full of pain on it.

These were the souls sealed within the Soul Coins, consisting of humans as well as the souls of other creatures, including demons.

"I wonder if the Gate of Light and Darkness can purify these Soul Coins?"

Li Zhangsheng looked at the Gate of Light and Darkness still operating above his head and solemnly threw a Soul Coin sealed with a demon soul into it.

In principle, the Gate of Light and Darkness should be able to purify the negative energy on the Soul Coins.

As for how to preserve the soul and banish it to the Underworld, the memories of the first Principal and the Treasure King did contain such knowledge, and only those above the Emperor Rank could accomplish it.

After the Soul Coin was thrown into the Gate of Light and Darkness, it was as if it had been crushed; the coin shattered instantly, and a soul of a Berserk Demon carrying black energy rushed out from within.

In an instant, endless light enveloped the Soul Coin, and wisps of black energy were easily purified as if they had encountered a mortal enemy, leaving behind only a pure demon soul in the end.

Li Zhangsheng waved his sleeve, and a Crystal Ball flew out from his Consciousness Sea, instantly sucking the demon soul into it.

The Original Light could store souls and could also extract memory fragments from within the souls.

Li Zhangsheng naturally would not go soft on demon souls; he intended to collect all the demon souls and then interpret their soul fragments all at once, believing that he would have a better understanding of the Abyss, and perhaps there would be additional gains.

As for the souls of humans and other creatures, Li Zhangsheng would open a passage to the Underworld; that was where they belonged.

Before long, tens of thousands of Soul Coins were all shattered, and the souls within were all taken away by the Original Light.

The next moment, a Secret Realm Phantom appeared above Li Zhangsheng's head, and it released a strand of Heaven and Earth Great Power that landed in front of him.

In an instant, intense spatial fluctuations occurred, revealing a pitch-black hole.

This was the temporary passage to the Underworld; other than being black, it was impossible to see what the Underworld looked like at all.

Just like the Heavenly Realm, neither the first Principal nor the Treasure King knew what the Underworld of this world actually looked like, nor had they ever entered the Underworld in the flesh; they only knew that the Yin energy there was too heavy and not suitable for the survival of living beings from the mortal world.

The reality of the Underworld was perhaps only known to Emperors.

Under Li Zhangsheng's control, the Original Light shot out a radiance, transforming into an invisible passage.

The next moment, one illusory figure after another drifted out from the Original Light, many of whom were human.

They knew that it was Li Zhangsheng who had ended their suffering, so they were naturally full of gratitude toward him; unable to speak, they could only bow their heads one by one, using their actions to express their gratitude.

The other living beings also learned from the human souls and bowed to Li Zhangsheng, then walked into the black hole one by one and disappeared.

As more and more souls of living beings entered the Underworld, Li Zhangsheng discovered that wisps of Mysterious Yellow Merit Qi were continuously pouring into his body.

Clearly, saving the souls of living beings was a matter beneficial to Heaven and Earth; although Heaven and Earth could create souls, it came at the cost of depleting its own origin, which was why it encouraged this by rewarding Mysterious Yellow Merit Qi.

Li Zhangsheng sensed it and found that the Mysterious Yellow Merit Qi harvested this time was roughly equivalent to 30% of what he got from killing a Demon Commander, which counted as an extra gain.

The rest of the souls in the Original Light were all demon souls; even after being purified by the Gate of Light and Darkness, Li Zhangsheng had no intention of releasing them—who knew if there would be unpredictable consequences.

Rather than that, it was more cost-effective to crush them and absorb the soul fragments.

After spending some time, all the demon souls were shattered, turning into a large amount of memory fragments for Li Zhangsheng to "read."

Many of these demons came from different layers of the Abyss, greatly enriching Li Zhangsheng's understanding and knowledge of the Abyss, as well as the famous local specialties of each layer.

In addition to these gains, there were mountains of materials, many of which came from various planes, and Li Zhangsheng could not recognize quite a few of them.

However, Li Zhangsheng could use his Mental Power to lock onto items containing intense energy fluctuations.

Among them, there were over a dozen Heaven and Earth Essence items and two Heaven and Earth Rare Treasure items.

Among these dozen or so Heaven and Earth Essence treasures, only two were useful to Li Zhangsheng: one was a Jade Bottle containing a few drops of Three Lights Divine Water, and the other was a Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasure called Rebirth Grass.

Rebirth Grass was a famous local specialty of the 278th layer of the Abyss; as long as a pregnant creature was fed it, it could improve the talent of the embryo within its body.

Simply put, if a pregnant Spirit Beast were fed Rebirth Grass, it could potentially improve the quality of the embryo, and at the very least, it would not show signs of congenital deficiency.

As for the two Heaven and Earth Rare Treasure-grade treasures, one was a piece of dark blue ore the size of a human head, which flickered with dazzling starlight from time to time.

Li Zhangsheng immediately recognized this ore, because this ore was precisely the Star Iron that could be used to refine Dazzling Blue Star Sand.

With this piece of Star Iron, Li Zhangsheng could proceed to refine Dazzling Blue Star Sand, and combined with the Star Gourd refined from the branches of the Great Zhou Heavenly Star Fruit Tree, its power would surely be extraordinary.
