Chapter 320: Being a woman myself, I am bound to save her
"War is a matter of deception."
"This Princess is expanding territory for my Great Tang; I only care about the result, the process is not important."
Tang An put away the Passage Document and the Surrender Document, "From this day forward, you may rename yourselves Miefa City."
"In this way, I won't take yours for nothing; you have a painter draw the appearance of that lecherous monk, and I will help you find the person so you can kill them to vent your anger."
"Even if the person is dead, I will drag his soul up for you to whip his corpse, how about that?"
The ruler of a nation, having his taboo words poked at directly in public, was so angry he nearly fainted.
"You. You are presumptuous!"
Tang An pressed his wrist down, "Don't point fingers randomly, it's for your own good."
"You, you are doing this for my own good?"
"That's right."
"Absurd! Utterly absurd!" The King clutched his chest, so angry he was nearly having a heart attack.
"Do you truly think that this King would actually acknowledge that so-called Surrender Document?"
"If your Great Tang wants to come, then come; do you think this King is afraid of you!"
Tang An gave a "hehe" laugh, "Whether you are afraid or not I don't know, but whether you can win the fight, that point is beyond doubt."
"However, my mission is just to find a justifiable reason for my Imperial Father to launch a campaign."
"Since you, the King, want to fight it out, then fight it out; I won't stop you."
"If your national strength truly surpasses Great Tang in the first battle, my Great Tang can afford to lose."
"But from then on, your Miefa Kingdom will become the primary target of Great Tang."
"Don't blame me for not warning you; by then, even the eggs inside the bellies of the hens in your palace will be shaken to pieces."
The King of Miefa Kingdom snorted coldly, clearly unafraid of Tang An's words.
"Good! You have backbone; this is the demeanor a king of a nation should have." Having traveled all this way, Tang An had truly rarely seen a monarch who dared to contend with Great Tang.
Regardless of what his national strength was like, at the very least, his attitude was not cowardly.
"However, the matter of your Miefa Kingdom going to war with Great Tang will happen after I leave. That matter is not for me, this Princess of Great Tang, to manage."
"Right now, what I want to manage is another matter."
The King of Miefa Kingdom snorted coldly, "You don't mean to say you still want to kill this King, do you?"
"I don't," Tang An answered very straightforwardly, "I haven't killed anyone yet, and I have no reason to kill you."
"What I want to manage is that concubine."
"What concubine?"
"The concubine who was bullied by the monk."
"Slap!"
The King slammed the table and stood up; the woman before him was truly jumping incessantly in his forbidden minefield.
"That is a matter of this King's harem; when is it your turn to..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Tang An's dagger was already held against his throat.
"Now, I am the blade and the cutting board, and you are the fish and the meat."
"This Princess advises you, when you are bitten on the head by a wild beast, do not harbor delusions of reasoning with it."
"You had best be clear: me not wanting to kill you and me being unable to kill you are two different things."
Tang An's blade sliced the King's neck, and the King finally began to panic.
He wanted to call for reinforcements, but after calling for a long time, the ones who entered were Sun Wukong, Yang Jian, and Nezha.
The three of them crossed their arms to watch the show, posing coolly as they entered.
"Speak!" Tang An applied a bit more force, and the blood on the King's neck flowed significantly more.
The King was very puzzled, "You have just arrived in my country and have no relation to my concubine; why do you want to manage her life or death?"
"Because this Princess is a woman; as fellow women, seeing her trapped in the mud, I am simply giving her a hand."
"The person your Miefa City does not want, my Great Tang is determined to have." Tang An changed her phrasing this time, her tone very resolute.
"This Princess guarantees here that very soon, whether you are willing or not, Miefa Kingdom will be renamed Miefa City."
"You had best be smart and cherish the days you can still live as a king."
The King of Miefa Kingdom frowned deeply, so angry he was nearly dead; his dignity had almost been trampled away by Tang An.
But he was all alone with no one to protect him, and could only rage in his impotence.
"She is in the cold palace."
"Have someone bring her out."
"You want to take her away?"
"What? Are you deaf? Did you not hear a single word this Princess said just now?"
"That is this King's beloved concubine; by what right do you take her away?"
"Beloved concubine?" Tang An sneered, "Are you playing that 'deeply affectionate emperor' and 'deep palace tragic romance' routine with me?"
She did not buy that routine at all, "Perhaps it is true that you once liked her, but it is also true that after she was harmed by others, you continued to harm her and cast her into the cold palace."
"When you loved her, she was a favored concubine; when you didn't love her, she was trash to be discarded by you anywhere?"
"Now that I want to take the person away, you are putting on a show of deep affection, protecting your fragile kingly pride and possessiveness?"
The King did not understand what kind of thinking Tang An had, or why she would stand up for his concubine.
"When all is said and done, what does this matter have to do with you? You are merely meddling in other people's business."
Tang An did not waste any more breath on him and directly pulled out a golden brick, and with a "slap," smashed his Seal into smithereens.
"Bring the person, or die."
"Three, two, one."
Just as Tang An was about to exert force with her dagger, the King finally softened his stance.
"Someone, come here, someone!"
Jiuyue winked at an attendant, and only then did the man snap out of the Charm Technique.
"Go and bring the Virtuous Consort out of the cold palace."
"Yes." The attendant did not understand why, but he went to fetch her nonetheless.
After about a quarter of an hour, the person was brought over.
Her body was filthy, her hair was a mess, and her mind was scattered; she was crying one moment and laughing the next.
The King looked at Tang An, "She is already insane; what use is there in taking her away?"
Tang An grabbed the King by his collar, "You don't know how she went insane, or who is responsible for it?"
The King was speechless, but he simply felt that Tang An was being too meddlesome; why care about the life or death of a discarded consort?
Could it be that she intended to take her back to the Great Tang to broadcast the infamy of his Miefa Kingdom?
Tang An shoved the King of the Miefa Kingdom aside and approached the consort.
Although the consort's face was dirty, one could tell from her features that she must be a great beauty once cleaned up.
"What is your name?"
"Me? I am called, Little Bee, Little Bee, hehehe..."
"Alright, Little Bee, I am going to take you away from here, to the Great Tang; will you go?"
Little Bee nodded happily, "Okay, okay, okay."
Tang An reached out her hand to her, "Shall I take you away?"
Little Bee's eyes were hesitant, and she seemed a bit afraid.
Tang An was not in a hurry, patiently waiting for her to be willing to trust her and place her hand in hers.
Little Bee tested the waters a few times, then finally, tremblingly, placed her hand in Tang An's.
Tang An revealed a brilliant smile, "Then shall we go?"
"Okay."
Before stepping out of the palace gate, Little Bee did not look back once.
Did she fail to recognize the King, or was she playing dumb, unwilling to face him ever again?
Aside from herself, no one knew.
"Beloved Consort." The King spoke after all, his eyes filled with a sea of deep affection.
Yet, in Tang An's eyes, that sea of deep affection was entirely filled with irony.
Little Bee's footsteps faltered for a moment, but she did not look back; instead, she resolutely ran out with a smile.
"Little Bee, catching the little bee."
Tang An glanced back, "Let me correct you: she is not called Beloved Consort, she is called Little Bee."
"It is a lovely name, and we all like it very much."
"And you, you are not worthy of liking it."
