Chapter 136: Banquet Conflict

Yu Manling smiled at Chen Feng and said, "Brother Chen, you’re joking. If anyone is truly dragging Brother Yang Yun into the water, it’s you, right? You must have had him do something for you, didn't you?"

Hearing Yu Manling’s words, I looked at her in surprise, not understanding why she knew about this, nor did I know if what she was talking about was really the Li family matter.

Chen Feng chuckled and said, "How could that be? You’re overthinking it!"

Yu Manling and Chen Feng looked at each other, both wondering what the other was thinking.

By now, quite a few people had arrived at the venue. According to Chen Ling, these were all celebrities in H City—people of status, entrepreneurs, government officials, underworld figures, family members. Basically, anyone whose name carried weight had come.

Many daughters of celebrities in the hall saw me and wanted to come over to strike up a conversation, but they were all hindered by the presence of Chen Ling and Zhang Yinuo beside me. They were too embarrassed to approach, as Chen Ling and Zhang Yinuo’s beauty was truly worlds apart compared to theirs.

Zhang Yinuo didn't pay any attention to him at all and turned her head away.

However, the man was persistent and continued to walk over, saying, "Beauty, why be so ungracious?"

"Young Master Huang Heng? How come I’ve never heard of him?" Third Brother, standing beside me, said out of the blue.

"You don't even know Young Master Huang? That just shows you’re ignorant. Who doesn't know that the Huang family is one of the top families in S City? They even have companies like Huang’s Jewelry. Huang Heng is a bona fide jewelry rich second generation. Do you know that?" the person who spoke earlier continued.

"Huang’s Jewelry? What kind of thing is that? And who are you?" Third Brother said with disdain.

"Me? If I say it, it’ll scare you. All the big clothing factories in S City belong to my father, and I am his eldest son, Liu Hong. Thanks to everyone’s love, everyone calls me Young Master Liu!" Liu Hong said very proudly.

Hearing this, Third Brother still said with disdain, "Pfft, someone who makes crappy clothes, what’s so great about that?"

"You’re bold! Who are you? What does this have to do with you? Where are you from, and who is your father? Are you as awesome as us?" Liu Hong snorted.

"Me? I don't have a father, no parents, no background at all!" Third Brother said with a faint smile.

"Damn, a bastard without parents dares to be this arrogant!" Liu Hong said with even more contempt upon hearing Third Brother’s words.

Hearing the word "bastard," both Third Brother and I were furious, our fists clenched tight. If it weren't for the order of the banquet, I would have hit someone long ago. Third Brother couldn't take it anymore and rushed over to lay hands on Liu Hong, but I held him back.

Third Brother said to me angrily, "Fourth Brother, what are you doing? Let me go over and kill him!"

"Third Brother, don't be angry. There are people everywhere; don't be impulsive. Besides, this is someone else’s territory; it’s not good to just start fighting on someone else’s turf!" I hurriedly tried to persuade him.

"Damn, so what if it’s someone else’s territory? I’m not happy, so I’m going to beat him!" Third Brother stared at Liu Hong.

Seeing Third Brother’s appearance, Liu Hong chuckled and said to the people around him, "Look at this guy, he still wants to hit someone. It’s truly hilarious. And he’s a bastard without parents. I don't know how he even got in. By the way, I think I saw this guy being stopped at the door earlier. Isn't that comical?"

"What? He was stopped at the door? That’s too funny!" many people around laughed and talked.

"I say, two beauties, don't be fooled by those two guys. You’d better come with me and Young Master Huang; I guarantee you’ll eat and drink well in the future!" Liu Hong said to Chen Ling and Zhang Yinuo with a smile.

Zhang Yinuo remained cold and aloof, not replying. As for Chen Ling, she looked at Liu Hong and pouted, saying, "You guys? It’s bad enough that you’re ugly, but you’re also shallow. Compared to my Brother Yang Yun, you’re far behind!"

Huang Heng looked at me, very unconvinced, and snorted, "He’s handsome? I think you’re nearsighted, beauty. How are you looking? And does this guy have as much money as me?"

"What’s the use of money? My family has plenty. Even if Brother Yang Yun doesn't earn money, my family has money!" Chen Ling stuck out her tongue and said.
