Chapter 18: Completely Crushing Wang Li

I signaled to Xu Hongzhi and Wang Hua beside me and suddenly said something that shocked the whole room: "Fight our way in!"

The two men in front of us were clearly amused by my words, but they couldn't laugh the next second. Third Brother’s and my fists were already flying. There was no need to mention Third Brother’s combat power; while I wasn't as fierce as them, I wasn't the type to be taken down in one or two moves in a 1-on-1 fight. Plus, there were three of us, and we subdued them in a few moves.

The people around clearly didn't expect anyone to dare start a fight at Zhang Longtao’s place. However, no one came to help; after all, people nowadays took a "none of my business" attitude. They were happy to watch such a good show as long as it didn't involve them.

I led Wang Hua and Xu Hongzhi straight into a private room.

The two men behind us rushed over to attack Third Brother and me. We dodged instinctively, and the two men crashed into the door of the private room. I took the opportunity to kick them, adding force, and the door was kicked open.

Inside the room were a man and a woman, currently flirting. They were startled by the door being kicked in, and Zhang Longtao immediately cursed: "Damn, if you don't give me a reason, you’re all waiting to die!"

Zhang Longtao looked at the three of us with a strange expression, especially when he saw me: "It’s you. You’ve got some nerve, daring to fight in my place and hitting my men!"

"I’m sorry, Brother Tao, but the matter was urgent, so I had no choice!" I apologized to Zhang Longtao respectfully.

"Speak, give me a reason, otherwise you know the consequences!" The aura Zhang Longtao exuded was indeed very powerful. He wasn't like Yellow Tiger; when I interacted with Yellow Tiger, although I was nervous, he was relatively polite and easy to talk to. But Zhang Longtao was clearly not like that.

"Brother Tao, I’m here to report something. I discovered that Wang Li has betrayed you and has been secretly in contact with Yellow Tiger and his crew!" I took out the photos on my phone and handed them to Zhang Longtao.

Seeing my phone, Zhang Longtao’s face didn't look good. He threw the phone back to me and said coldly: "Why should I believe you? Just because of a few pictures? Pictures can be faked!"

I knew these things weren't enough to make Zhang Longtao fully believe me, so I opened my phone and played an audio clip.

Hearing the audio, Zhang Longtao’s face turned black. The woman beside him let out a soft cry: "Brother Tao, you’re hurting me!"

Zhang Longtao ignored the woman’s cry and looked at me: "Where did you get these things?"

"I noticed Wang Li acting strangely before, so I installed a bug on him and followed him when I had nothing to do. Sure enough, I discovered his betrayal. And just today, I was discovered while following him. I knew this guy wouldn't let me go, so to prevent Wang Li from deceiving you further, I had to come to you. I’m very sorry for hitting your two subordinates. If you want to punish me later, I’ll accept it!" I said these words sincerely, almost moving everyone in the room. Even I wanted to applaud my own acting.

"Fine, I know about the matter. I’ll handle it. By the way, I remember your name is Yang Yun, right?" Zhang Longtao looked at me, as if trying to see through me.

I nodded, looking straight into Zhang Longtao’s eyes without the slightest fear.

"Hmm, if I find out you’re lying to me, you and your whole family will be finished!" Zhang Longtao stared at me viciously.

Hearing this, Third Brother’s body trembled. I quickly grabbed his arm, signaling him not to move. Third Brother stopped. I knew Third Brother was angry. He was fearless; he didn't care about the other person’s status or how big a figure they were. He only knew that someone wanted to touch his brother, and even if he couldn't win, he would make them pay a heavy price.

Zhang Longtao didn't say anything more. He looked at Third Brother and me, then waved his hand at the three of us. Third Brother and I retreated.

After leaving the bar, Third Brother asked me: "Damn, what was that guy acting so tough for? If you hadn't stopped me, I would’ve gone up and crippled him!"

"Don't be impulsive. Do you think those two men were the only ones he had in the bar? If a real fight broke out, all three of us would be finished. Zhang Longtao is not someone to be trifled with. Without some ability, he would’ve been taken out by others long ago. How could he still be alive?" I scolded him.

Third Brother was loyal, that was true, but he was just too impulsive and didn't consider the consequences.

"I don't care who he is. What if there were ten or eight of them? I’d take them all down!" Third Brother was completely dismissive.

I didn't try to persuade him anymore. Third Brother’s temperament couldn't be changed, and more words were useless. Fortunately, sometimes when I held him back, he would stop.

We found a place to drink a bit. After all, we had just obtained a significant amount of wealth, so we had to spend some. They didn't stand on ceremony with me and fleeced me hard.

Those so-called proofs against Wang Li were, of course, not obtained by me; I got them from Yellow Tiger. Yellow Tiger actually trusted me completely and shared these things with me, which was very surprising. The next day at work, when I arrived, Wang Li was uncharacteristically absent. I figured he was either in the hospital or in Zhang Longtao’s hands, though the latter was more likely. Sanmao and the others were very surprised. They called Wang Li’s phone but found no one answered. I smiled and said: "Stop calling. I reckon even if your Brother Li could come, he’s mostly crippled!"

"What do you mean?" Sanmao stared at me with a grim face.

I smiled and didn't answer his question. Just then, Wang Li arrived. But Wang Li looked miserable—his head was wrapped in bandages, and his arm was in a sling. He looked even worse than when we fought yesterday; it was mostly Zhang Longtao’s handiwork.
