Chapter 50: The Death Trap

~7 min read 1,203 words

Li Hong lowered his head and gritted his teeth without saying a word. Third Brother didn't care, just snorted coldly and turned to leave.

Li Hong slowly climbed up from the ground, his expression ferocious. He looked at me and said abruptly, "You’ve always wanted to know about Su Xueyan, right?"

Hearing Li Hong’s words, my expression changed. I rushed straight in front of him and demanded, "What do you mean?"

"Nothing special. Come find me alone after school this afternoon, and I’ll tell you what you want to know!" Li Hong’s face didn't change in the slightest. I couldn't judge the truth of his words from his face or eyes, but the matter of Su Xueyan was truly too important. Whether it was true or false, I had to go.

Third Brother grabbed Li Hong’s clothes and cursed, "Damn you, what are you playing at? If you know, just say it. Do you take us for fools? Who knows what tricks you’re planning?"

Li Hong chuckled and looked at us with disdain, saying, "If you're scared, you don't have to come!"

Third Brother wanted to attack Li Hong again, but I held him back and said, "Forget it. I doubt he’ll say anything no matter what you do to him right now!"

Third Brother looked at Li Hong with hatred, threw him to the ground, and then said to me, "Fourth, you better think this through. Who knows what kind of medicine is in this guy's gourd!"

I gave Third Brother a reassuring look, indicating it was fine.

We left the classroom; after all, it wasn't good to stay in someone else's classroom, and class was about to start soon. The teachers probably would come soon. Although the teachers at this school didn't care much, we still had to be careful.

Back in the classroom, Third Brother looked at me and asked, "Are you really planning to go alone this afternoon?"

I nodded. Although it was very likely a trap, I had to go.

I smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, I’m not the same person I was before. At the very least, I have the ability to protect myself!"

Seeing my persistence, Third Brother didn't say anything more, just told me to be careful.

Finally, in the afternoon, just as I was preparing to go find Li Hong, Zhuge Yue suddenly appeared. I looked at her, puzzled: "Why are you here?"

Zhuge Yue’s expression wasn't very good. She looked at me for a long time and said, "Are you really going?"

I nodded, my expression firm. Zhuge Yue sighed slightly and said, "I know I can't talk you out of it, but just be careful!"

"I just want to know if I can get what I want this time?" I looked at Zhuge Yue and asked.

Zhuge Yue was speechless. After a long while, she said, "I’m really not a god. I don't know everything. And even if I had the ability to foresee the future, do you think that’s something that can be used casually? Leaking the secrets of heaven comes with a price!"

I scratched my head in embarrassment. My question was indeed a bit absurd. Zhuge Yue was right; she wasn't a god. And recently, I had discovered that I seemed to be becoming a bit dependent on her, which was a bad feeling.

Just as I was about to leave, Zhuge Yue suddenly shouted at me, "Remember, if you’re in danger, you must run! Don't try to fight it out!"

I waved at Zhuge Yue behind me to show my gratitude.

Arriving at Li Hong’s classroom, I found that Li Hong had been waiting there for a long time. Seeing me arrive, Li Hong smiled and said, "If you had come any later, I reckon the person would be gone!"

"What do you mean?" I didn't quite understand Li Hong’s meaning, feeling that this guy was definitely plotting some conspiracy.

"Nothing much. Actually, I don't know anything about Su Xueyan!" Li Hong played with a fruit knife in his hand, his expression indifferent.

"So you were playing with me?" My expression turned ugly.

"Not exactly. If you hadn't come today, you probably would have witnessed another tragedy. But since you came today, it depends on whether you have the ability to save her!" Li Hong chuckled and stuck the fruit knife into the desk.

"What the hell are you playing at?" At this moment, the feeling in my heart wasn't good. I had a feeling something big was about to happen.

"Nothing. My uncle was beaten by your friend earlier, and he was very unhappy, so he asked me for information on you two. Coincidentally, I saw photos of Su Xueyan and Su Xueya. Su Xueyan is definitely out of reach, but Su Xueya looks pretty good. My uncle is a man who cherishes beauty, so he wants to find her and show her some 'affection'!" Li Hong smiled lecherously.

Hearing this, I flew into a rage and shouted, "You’re courting death! If you dare to touch her, I’m not done with you!"

Li Hong didn't care about my words at all and continued indifferently, "I think you’d better hurry. Otherwise, you won't make it in time. If you go late, who knows how many people will have walked all over her!"

"You bastards!" I cursed, then hurriedly turned and ran toward Su Xueya’s classroom, simultaneously pulling out my phone to dial her number.

But I called for a long time and no one answered. When I arrived at the school classroom, I couldn't find Su Xueya either. Other students said she had already gone home.

I quickly chased along the route Su Xueya took home, while my phone kept dialing her number, but Su Xueya still wouldn't answer.

In an alley on the road, I saw Su Xueya. I shouted for her with all my might, but because I was quite far away, she might not have heard. However, at this moment, I suddenly saw four or five people following Su Xueya, and two of them were holding knives, sneaking around, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Su Xueya seemed to have discovered these people at this moment; she kept glancing back at them and gradually quickened her pace.

Seeing this, I became even more anxious. I accelerated, ran close to Su Xueya, and hurriedly shouted, "Su Xueya, run!"

Su Xueya seemed to hear my shout and turned her head subconsciously. She was shocked to see the two people beside her rushing over with knives and hurriedly dodged. At this moment, I also arrived, and I kicked the person holding the knife directly. However, that person seemed prepared; he turned and punched me directly. My foot and his fist collided. I only felt a huge force coming from under my foot. I hurriedly dodged in mid-air and landed beside Su Xueya, looking at these people with a grave expression. One of them was clearly Li Heng, and the person who had held the knife earlier also had very strong strength. These people were all much stronger than ordinary people. Suddenly, a terrifying thought appeared in my mind: were these people targeting me? ===== CHAPTER 51 =====
