Let me explain the updates these past two days.

For the next few days, I’ll likely post only one long chapter each day, because Jiudeng needs to have surgery.

In 2016, a lump the size of a quail’s egg grew on the right side of my neck; in 2018, I had it checked and the doctor did a biopsy and said it was a lipoma, so I didn’t worry about it.

In 2020, I had an ultrasound and it showed nothing.

Back then I was young and thought nothing of it, but over the past year, this area around my right shoulder has been aching three or five times a month—I don’t know if it’s pressing on a nerve.

Recently, I read some medical popular science articles saying human consciousness can influence bodily responses.

With this lump present, I keep overthinking; sometimes even when my body is fine, I imagine problems.

I’ve finally decided to go to the hospital tomorrow for a checkup, then get anesthesia and have it cut out.

I saved one or two chapters in reserve, just in case I feel dizzy and can’t write after the anesthesia and surgery.
