Chapter 1179: Investigate the Problems with the Motorcade!

After Jiang Jing left, Gong Weimin dialed Gao Qidong's phone number.

"Mayor Gao, I have just looked into the situation. The complaint material regarding Tang Ye is baseless. We must keep our eyes sharp and not believe every rumor we hear; we need to understand and judge, and we cannot casually suspect our comrades."

Gao Qidong had originally intended to disgust Jiang Jing.

He did not expect that what awaited him was Gong Weimin's merciless criticism.

"Gong, I have verified this material..."

"Then there is a problem with the way you verified it. Let this matter end here." Gong Weimin decided to end this uncomfortable topic.

Gao Qidong sensed Gong Weimin's dissatisfaction.

He immediately realized that Gong Weimin must have misunderstood him as sowing discord.

He still felt somewhat annoyed inside; it seemed that because of this matter, he had offended both the number one and number two leaders.

"Gong, you are right; it was my lack of consideration." Gao Qidong chose to compromise.

Gong Weimin said, "Recently, Mayor Jiang has been putting effort into promoting administrative improvements. I hope you will attach importance to this and cooperate."

Gao Qidong hurriedly said, "Okay, I will attach importance to it."

Jiang Jing returned to the office and dialed Tang Ye's phone number.

She told Tang Ye the contents of that complaint material.

"Although the content of this complaint material is groundless, I think you should still take it seriously."

Tang Ye hurriedly said, "Thank you, Mayor Jiang, for defending me in front of Gong. I will be more cautious when carrying out my work in the future."

After hanging up Jiang Jing's call, Tang Ye called for Ma Ran.

"How was the matter of you running a red light in the official vehicle to save someone last time resolved?"

Ma Ran said in surprise, "When I returned the vehicle, I mentioned the points being deducted. Because it was an unannounced visit at the time, I was afraid of leaking the news, so I didn't explain the reason. The Captain of the motorcade told me at the time that he would resolve the follow-up issues. Is there a problem?"

Tang Ye said, "There is material reporting you for high-profile behavior, using official vehicles for private purposes, and violating traffic regulations."

Ma Ran was instantly furious, "County Magistrate Tang, you know me! This is absolutely fabricating facts and pinning a dirty label on me!"

Tang Ye nodded and said, "Go and handle it. I have already reported it to the Discipline Inspection Commission, and while you're at it, have them thoroughly investigate the issue of using official vehicles for private purposes."

Motorcade office.

The Captain, Wu Xing, was sitting in the office drinking tea while playing a game on his computer.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open.

Ma Ran walked in with a face as cold as frost.

Wu Xing's heart skipped a beat, and he hurriedly closed the game interface.

"Director Ma, why are you here? Does County Magistrate Tang need a car?"

Ma Ran said in a deep voice, "Captain Wu, I am not here to use a car. I want to ask you one thing: regarding the time I applied for an official vehicle and ran a red light, how did you handle that?"

Wu Xing said sheepishly, "Director Ma, I reported this matter to the Traffic Brigade and mentioned your name, and the matter was settled."

Ma Ran said in a deep voice, "There were special circumstances at the time. Because I needed to keep it confidential, I didn't explain it clearly to you. That day, I was accompanying Mayor Jiang and County Magistrate Tang on an unannounced visit to Zhaojiang Wharf, and we encountered a critically ill patient on the way, so I drove through the red light."

Upon hearing this, Wu Xing stuttered, "So that's how it was."

Ma Ran glanced at Wu Xing indifferently, "I hope you will understand the full story of things in the future. Fortunately, Mayor Jiang and County Magistrate Tang were both present at the time and could testify for me; otherwise, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to clear my name even if I jumped into the Yellow River."

After Ma Ran left, Wu Xing slapped himself twice hard.

He had made a huge mistake!

Some time ago, Wu Xing had drunk too much at a dinner table and boasted that he had dirt on the County Magistrate's Liaison Officer, claiming that when he violated traffic rules, he had asked him to help resolve it.

The speaker meant nothing by it, but the listener took it to heart, and it was remembered by certain people.

Ma Ran returned to his office, feeling incredibly angry.

No wonder someone had been asking him sarcastically lately about how long he had held his driver's license.

The root cause actually lay here.

One hour later, people from the Discipline Inspection Commission found Wu Xing in the motorcade office.

They conducted a surprise inspection of the use of official vehicles...

Inside the government compound, there was a sudden buzz of discussion.

"Why was Captain Wu investigated by the Discipline Inspection Commission?"

"It's because Wu Xing wasn't cautious enough. He fabricated outside that County Magistrate Tang's Liaison Officer ran a red light in an official vehicle."

"Is this matter fabricated?"

"Of course it's fabricated! At the time, Mayor Jiang and County Magistrate Tang were on an unannounced visit, and Ma Ran only ran the red light to save a critically ill child."

"So that's how it is! I had heard before that Ma Ran relied on being a favorite in front of the County Magistrate and was arrogant; I didn't expect there to be this story."

"Doing a good deed without leaving a name and being misunderstood—that really is ironic! Wu Xing is also too unkind."

"It's not that simple. It is said that the Discipline Inspection Commission investigated Wu Xing and uncovered problems with the motorcade!"

Facing the interrogation of the Discipline Inspection Commission staff.

Wu Xing kept saying that he was very wronged.

The Discipline Inspection Commission staff did not believe his disguise at all!

"There are over 100 county official vehicles in total. Vehicle maintenance is a large expense, and you were the one who designated where the fixed-point maintenance would be done.

You submitted forged receipts for parts replacement, breakdown repairs, and vehicle maintenance to the repair shop, and mixed the false receipts into the real maintenance receipts to go through the reimbursement process together.

In recent years, you have used this method many times to cash out and extract state funds!"

Facing the mountain of ironclad evidence, his psychological defense finally collapsed.

His guts were turning green with regret!

Alcohol is no good thing!

Why couldn't he control his mouth after drinking too much?

If he hadn't been so loose-lipped and offended the County Magistrate's Liaison Officer, why would the Discipline Inspection Commission have come knocking?

……

Seeing a spot on a leopard allows one to know the whole animal.

Through the corruption of the motorcade, one can also see the degree of corruption in Yechuan County.

Han Zhengyi is quite incorruptible as an official, but the people under him are not necessarily so.

This is related to the long-standing work culture in Yechuan County.

It is not something that can be solved in a day or two!

Tang Ye received a call from Zhao Shuli.

"Wu Xing's issues have already been investigated clearly. He took advantage of his position to engage in corruption, and the evidence is conclusive."

"Secretary Zhao, I've troubled you. Actually, I originally just wanted to explain the situation to you. I didn't expect it to drag out corruption as well."

Zhao Shuli sighed with emotion, "The City Leaders all know about this matter; we must certainly adopt the correct attitude."

After Tang Ye hung up the phone with Zhao Shuli, he called Ma Ran in.

"Regarding the issues with motorcade Captain Wu Xing, the Discipline Inspection Commission has basically grasped the evidence of his disciplinary violations."

Surprise appeared in Ma Ran's eyes, and he sighed, "I didn't expect the Discipline Inspection Commission to act so quickly!"

Tang Ye said, "It's mainly because Secretary Gong attaches great importance to this matter!"

The phone rang at this moment.

Tang Ye answered the phone.

Seeing Tang Ye look up at him, Ma Ran hurriedly walked out and closed the door with tacit understanding.

Tang Ye said with a smile, "Teacher, I have prepared a gift. When I go to Liaoning Province for research next week, I will give it to you when we meet."

Jiang Jinpeng said with a smile, "You kid are being polite with me. What kind of gift is it?"

Tang Ye played coy, "It's nothing expensive. I'll keep it a secret for now!"
