Chapter 1397: Everything in Yechuan County is Under Control!

The helicopter landed steadily near the relocation site.

After it touched down and came to a stop, several medical personnel in medical uniforms walked over quickly.

Tang Ye said to a medical worker, "A comrade's foot is infected; please take them to the hospital for emergency treatment as soon as possible."

The medical worker nodded and said, "Alright, I will arrange a vehicle immediately."

Tang Ye then patted Gao Guangquan on the shoulder, "You have an injury on your foot, hurry to the hospital to get it treated."

Gao Guangquan said with emotion, "County Magistrate Tang, I am fine, I can still hold on."

Tang Ye thought to himself that Gao Guangquan was quite a tough guy, "Hurry and go get treated, the common people have all been safely evacuated. There is nothing else to do for the moment."

Gao Guangquan nodded and said, "Alright, then I will go for treatment, and as soon as my wound is handled, I will rush back immediately."

Gao Guangquan was sent to the City People's Hospital, where the hospital performed a comprehensive examination and discovered his injuries were far more serious than they appeared on the surface, immediately arranging for him to undergo debridement surgery.

After the surgery was finished, Gao Guangquan was sent to a ward.

The nurse had just hung up the IV drip bottle for him.

The ward door was then pushed open from the outside.

His wife walked in quickly with a panicked expression.

She walked to the side of the hospital bed, looked at Gao Guangquan's right leg, which was wrapped in layers of gauze, and asked with concern, "Honey, how did you get yourself into this state!"

Gao Guangquan shook his head with a smile, "At first it was a small wound, I didn't take it to heart. As a result, the wound got infected. I've had the debridement surgery, it's nothing serious!"

His wife's eyes turned red, "I heard you didn't evacuate in time, I was worried to death. Is your leg injury serious? Some people said your leg has a large area of infection and might need to be amputated!"

Gao Guangquan sighed, "That's an exaggeration, the infection area is quite large, but it didn't damage the bone, it will be fine after resting for a period of time!"

"I didn't expect the water level to rise so quickly after the dam burst; I was also very overwhelmed at the time. If it had been half an hour later, I'm afraid I would never have seen you again."

His wife wiped her tears and said, "Why did you have to act tough?"

Gao Guangquan said with a soft sigh, "A person can't worry about so much at a time like that. I couldn't evacuate first and leave the common people behind. Besides, County Magistrate Tang was with us the whole time; if he didn't leave, how could I leave?"

His wife looked at Gao Guangquan in surprise, "County Magistrate Tang? Didn't he go to the Central Party School to attend training?"

Gao Guangquan's eyes were full of admiration, "He found out Yechuan was flooding and asked for leave to rush back. He arrived at Chenxin Town at the first opportunity, learned about the disaster situation on the spot, and proposed the suggestion to evacuate the masses to the City Leaders. If it had been a few hours later, the common people of Chenxin Town would all have been submerged in the flood; the consequences would have been unthinkable!"

A complex look appeared in his wife's eyes, "I used to really dislike him. If it weren't for him, you would have been transferred back to the city by now. Now it seems County Magistrate Tang has good character."

Gao Guangquan nodded and said, "The falsification of economic data was indeed my mistake; he punished me, that was judging the matter on its merits, not the person."

His wife's eyes suddenly dimmed, "Chenxin Town was soaked by the flood, will the higher-ups look for someone to take responsibility?"

His wife's concerns were not without reason.

Problems occurred in the flood resistance at Chenxin Town, and it was very likely that someone would push the responsibility onto him.

Gao Guangquan shook his head and said helplessly, "The flood discharge and evacuation were both unified decisions issued by the City Leaders, and everyone has already done their utmost. If someone really has to be the scapegoat, then let me be that scapegoat!"

Tang Ye did not rest; he walked around the relocation site to comfort the affected masses!

"Fellow villagers, County Magistrate Tang has come to visit everyone!"

"County Magistrate Tang, when will this rain stop!"

Everyone's mood was very low and pessimistic.

Seeing Tang Ye, they were all very excited.

Tang Ye said in a deep voice, "When the rain will stop, I don't know either! But I can responsibly tell everyone that the government has already prepared for everyone's livelihood security. After the disaster ends, we will help everyone rebuild their homes."

These words slightly soothed the pessimistic mood of the crowd whose homes had been destroyed.

An eighty-year-old grandmother held Tang Ye's hand, her eyes brimming with tears of excitement, "County Magistrate Tang, I am truly especially grateful to you. If it weren't for you, I don't think I would be alive right now. I was too stubborn at the time."

This grandmother had insisted on not leaving her old house, and it was only through the patient persuasion and forced escort of the staff that she was safely transferred.

"Old lady, none of us expected the flood to be so dangerous. I know you couldn't let go of your house, but as long as people are still here, everything will be there."

Tang Ye finished comforting the people.

Dong Zhangan said softly, "Director Gong has come over from the command center."

Tang Ye nodded, "I will go to welcome him."

Gong Weimin stepped out of the sedan.

Tang Ye walked up quickly to meet him.

"Director Gong, hello!"

Gong Weimin nodded toward Tang Ye and praised, "Comrade Tang Ye, you have worked hard!"

Tang Ye said modestly, "This is what I should do!"

Gong Weimin asked softly, "Is there anything that needs coordinating?"

Tang Ye said, "The fellow villagers have all been settled. Everyone's mood is very stable. However, after the flood broke out, we must prevent the breeding of infectious diseases next, so we must do a good job with epidemic prevention and control measures."

Gong Weimin nodded, "You consider problems very maturely. Later, I will apply to the Provincial Health Department to see if we can secure a professional epidemic prevention work team to come and support!"

Tang Ye let out a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Secretary Gong!"

Gong Weimin patted Tang Ye on the shoulder, "You are very outstanding!"

Gong Weimin had not known much about Tang Ye before when he was in Xiyang City; he only knew that Tang Ye was Jiang Jing's confidant.

But during this flood resistance, Gong Weimin had communicated with Tang Ye many times directly, and thus had an intuitive understanding of Tang Ye's ability and character.

This young man could withstand pressure at critical moments; he was definitely a pillar of talent!

As expected, he was worthy of being a good seedling strictly selected by the Organization Department of the Central Committee!

His cell phone rang.

Gong Weimin answered the phone, "What? Why didn't they evacuate in time!"

The person on the other end of the phone said with deep grief, "The city required them to evacuate, but there is a village in Gaogu County that did not follow the instructions. Now the people of an entire village are soaked in the water!"

Gong Weimin said angrily, "The evacuation order was issued simultaneously with Yechuan County! Why did Yechuan County complete the full evacuation, while Gaogu County did not complete the evacuation mission? This matter will hold the County Party Secretary and the County Magistrate accountable for their instructions. I will immediately coordinate with the troops for support, hoping to minimize the loss of life and property to the greatest extent!"

Hanging up the phone, Gong Weimin sighed and said helplessly,

"Facts have proven that your decision was correct.

If we hadn't evacuated in time, tens of thousands of people would have been submerged in the water, and by then, it wouldn't be as simple as one or two people dying.

Although Gaogu County also received the evacuation order, their execution was problematic, resulting in dozens of households in one village being trapped deep in the floodwaters.

Comparing the two, the situation in Yechuan is much better.

I am going to Gaogu County now! I will leave things here to you."

Tang Ye nodded, "Understood, please go and attend to your work. Everything in Yechuan County is under control! Please rest assured!"
