Chapter 377: Runsheng Restarts the Production Line!
In the days that followed, Tang Ye moved his office directly to the Runsheng factory grounds.
Seeing this Deputy County Magistrate supervising the entire process every single day without fail, the environmental Expert and the workers also threw themselves into the work with renewed vigor.
By five o'clock in the morning, the roar of machinery was already echoing through the factory building;
In the dead of night, the lights still illuminated the workshop brightly, the sparks from welding reflecting against the stars.
Tang Ye worked around the clock with the task force, having thoroughly mastered the entire process of environmental rectification.
It is no exaggeration to say that if he were to register a company and recruit a few workers right now, he could directly copy this entire process to start production and operations; earning millions a year would be a simple, familiar task.
It is no wonder that many government personnel have toyed with the idea of "jumping into the sea" of business—they hold the core resources of projects in their hands and have a deep understanding of the market pulse, so they could become trendsetters in the business world in an instant.
Late at night, Cheng Lin made a special trip after work to visit Runsheng, and she was nearly stunned when she pushed open the door.
Tang Ye was squatting beside a machine tool, looking at equipment blueprints with workers covered in oil and grime.
His work clothes were stained with mud and dirt, his hair was as messy as weeds, and there was even a black streak of machine oil on his cheek; he looked exactly like an "old hand of the workshop."
"Secretary Cheng? Why are you here?" Tang Ye turned his head upon hearing the movement and grinned, revealing two rows of white teeth. "Don't worry, we are working overtime to rush the job, and we should be able to finish ahead of schedule if nothing goes wrong."
Cheng Lin could not help but smile and pointed to the van behind her: "I heard you were all too busy to eat, so I brought some late-night snacks."
Tang Ye turned and called out to his colleagues: "Secretary Cheng brought us food! Let's take a break, eat our fill, and then keep working!"
"Thank you, Secretary Cheng!"
"The Secretary brought us late-night snacks; we must weld two more pipes tonight!"
"The equipment debugging is just one step away, let's go for it!"
The workers laughed and clamored.
Although it was tough, the atmosphere was excellent, and everyone was united as one.
Tang Ye handed out the boxed meals one by one, took one for himself, and squatted in the corner, eating happily with pickled mustard greens.
Watching him like this, Cheng Lin could not help but remark: "I didn't expect you to get along so well with the workers."
"The secret is simple—I do whatever they do." Tang Ye wiped his mouth. "To lead troops in battle, one must be at the forefront; it's the same for being a cadre. If you don't dig into the mud, where would your prestige come from?"
Cheng Lin nodded: "I'll keep you company while you work overtime tonight. I can't help with anything else, but I can lend a hand with logistics."
"Your presence is enough; this is called 'stabilizing the morale'." Tang Ye finished the last bite of his meal, patted his knees as he stood up, and walked back toward the equipment to discuss parameter debugging with the Expert.
At the hoisting site, Tang Ye stood beside the crane's control panel, his gestures as precise as conducting a symphony orchestra: "Slowly, lower it another ten centimeters... stop!"
The filter screen embedded into the slot like a precision gear, and the workers immediately followed up, the sound of wrenches striking bolts having a rhythmic quality.
When connecting the pipes, they were like watchmakers, splicing pipes of different specifications according to the blueprints, applying the sealant evenly and meticulously; every step of the process exuded the rigor of a craftsman.
"The seal must be foolproof; a single drop leaking is a hidden danger of pollution." The Expert held a detector, checking repeatedly while not forgetting to instruct the workers.
During the installation of the electrical system, Tang Ye suddenly frowned: "Teacher Chen, is there a problem with the routing of this circuit?"
Teacher Chen leaned in for a closer look and immediately called over the worker responsible for the wiring: "The circuit is connected in reverse! If the equipment malfunctions because of this, the loss won't just be the construction period! It's fortunate that County Magistrate Tang is so attentive!"
After lecturing the worker, Teacher Chen gave Tang Ye a thumbs up: "You've only been following us for a week, and you know the whole set of equipment better than the apprentices I train. There are too few cadres like you who are willing to delve into the grassroots level!"
Tang Ye waved his hand: "It's because you teach it clearly. There are still so many enterprises in the Yuan Industrial Park waiting to be renovated, so learning more is always a good thing."
Teacher Chen sighed with emotion: "With you personally digging in on the front lines, how could we technicians not put in the effort? If it were other cadres, they would have left the enterprise hanging long ago."
At three in the morning, the equipment finally entered the final debugging stage.
When Teacher Chen pressed the start button, the factory was so quiet that one could hear the sound of breathing—first came a low hum, then the gears began to turn, the spray system emitted a fine mist of water, the filtration device inhaled and exhaled air rhythmically, and the various parameters jumped on the dashboard, all meeting the standards!
"It's done!" Tang Ye rushed to the control panel in two or three steps and turned to look at Cheng Lin, his eyes shining.
Cheng Lin let out a long breath and smiled: "Now Runsheng can restart its production line."
Tang Ye walked toward the Runsheng boss, He Bin: "We finished two days ahead of the agreed time. The Expert will stay for another three days to keep an eye on the equipment, and regular maintenance will be arranged after it stabilizes."
He Bin's eyes turned red, and he gripped Tang Ye's hand tightly, his voice choked with emotion: "County Magistrate Tang, you didn't just save the factory, you saved hundreds of families..."
Tang Ye gripped his hand back firmly: "It is you who should be thanked for being willing to listen to suggestions. Without the workers' unity and the technical team's efforts, this matter could never have been accomplished. For the Government, this is not only saving an enterprise but also setting a benchmark for other factories."
He Bin turned to face the workers, his voice loud and clear: "Brothers, we have completed the renovation ahead of schedule! Next, we need to work in three shifts to rush the orders; we must ship within a week!"
"Don't worry, Boss! The factory is alive, and we have plenty of strength!"
"For our wives and children, let's go for it!"
The shouts of the workers made the factory windows buzz.
Cheng Lin looked at the sky, which was gradually turning white, and suddenly realized that she had stayed up all night.
But looking at the morning light and sweat leaping in the factory area at this moment, she felt that this sleepless night was more worthwhile than ever.
After returning to the hotel and taking a quick shower, the hour hand had quietly slid toward the start of the workday.
Cheng Lin tore open two bags of black coffee and drank them in one gulp, pressed her fingertips against her temples to rub them gently, silently cheered herself on in the mirror, and then stepped into the County Party Committee Compound in her high heels.
Just as she sat down at her desk, she dialed the phone number for Han Guangyao's office: "Secretary Han, are you free right now? I have some work I would like to report to you."
"I'm in the office waiting for you, come over." Han Guangyao's voice carried his usual composure.
Pushing open the office door, Cheng Lin met Han Guangyao's scrutinizing gaze. He looked her up and down, then stood up to pour a glass of warm water and handed it to her: "I heard you stayed up all night at Runsheng last night?"
Cheng Lin was slightly startled, then nodded: "Yes, the environmental rectification project was completed late at night, and I was fortunate enough to witness the moment the equipment debugging succeeded. Everyone is very happy; the hard work during this period has finally yielded results."
Hearing this, Han Guangyao sighed softly and tapped his fingertips on the desk: "Little Tang is indeed a capable general who can fight tough battles. You came to see me... if I'm not mistaken, it's about the matter regarding Liao Guosheng, right?"
He paused, his gaze cast toward the swaying treetops outside the window, "Yesterday, I made a special trip to report the situation to Mayor Zhao Yang; the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection task force should be on their way right now."
