Chapter 841: Saving Li Na for the Third Time!

Liang Shiyu clearly did not expect this!

Tang Ye, who looked gentle and refined, full of the air of a scholar, would actually make such a crazy move!

While slamming on the accelerator, Tang Ye unbuckled his seatbelt.

The moment the car plunged into the artificial lake, he passed through the narrow space between the seats.

One hand pushed Liang Shiyu's wrist upward from below,

while the other hand pressed down hard on Liang Shiyu's head.

When facing a sudden situation, a normal person's brain requires a certain amount of reaction time.

Although Liang Shiyu's reaction was not slow, compared to the surprise attack Tang Ye had long been brewing, there was clearly a time gap.

He only felt his mind go blank.

Immediately after, his skull was pressed down by a tremendous force.

Liang Shiyu pulled the trigger subconsciously.

The sound of a gunshot rang out, the muzzle veered off, and the bullet hit the car roof, making a piercing sound.

Li Na was also stunned at this moment.

She had never imagined that Tang Ye would use such a suicidal method to resolve the current predicament.

Doing this looked completely unreasonable!

However, Tang Ye understood that his own people were not far away.

Once they saw the car fall into the lake, they would definitely rush over to rescue them.

Lake water began to seep in from the bottom of the car, and Tang Ye and Liang Shiyu were tangled together.

To be precise, Tang Ye was firmly controlling Liang Shiyu.

Looking at Tang Ye's desperate appearance, a surge of emotion suddenly welled up in Li Na's heart.

She and Tang Ye had grievances, but at this moment, he was truly risking his life for her.

Ironically, Tang Ye was her enemy.

This was the third time he had saved her!

"Tang Ye, you motherfucker, you are just a lunatic!"

Liang Shiyu felt a fear for Tang Ye that was carved into his very bones!

Tang Ye's strength was astonishingly great.

Tang Ye gripped his wrist and slammed it hard against the car roof.

Once, twice, three times!

Before long, Liang Shiyu loosened his fingers, and the handgun fell to the floor.

"Liang Shiyu, stop wasting your effort."

Tang Ye smashed a fist into Liang Shiyu's face.

Liang Shiyu could only passively take the beating, with no chance to fight back.

……

Police cars gathered on the shore……

Xing Zhijun watched as the front of the sedan plunged into the lake, sinking toward the bottom at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Without a word, he threw away his police cap, took off his shirt and trousers, and kicked off his shoes.

The police officers beside him followed suit, preparing to enter the water for the rescue.

At this moment, Liang Shiyu had already been beaten half-crippled, and lake water was pouring in from the bottom of the car; the water level had long since submerged the three people's necks.

Realizing that he had completely lost the possibility of escape, a strange smile actually curled at the corners of Liang Shiyu's mouth.

"Haha, lunatics! All of you are lunatics! If we're going to die, let's die together! One for two, I've made a profit!"

"Die together? Don't dream. You won't die; what awaits you will be the judgment of the law!" Tang Ye reached out to pick up the handgun and ordered Li Na, "Move to the passenger seat."

Li Na did not hesitate in the slightest at this moment and struggled to move.

With half her body submerged in water, affected by the water pressure, every movement was exceptionally difficult.

Just then, her lower body suddenly felt light, and a force pushed her waist just in time.

"Move aside!"

Tang Ye then crawled to the front row and ordered Li Na in a low voice.

Li Na subconsciously shrank her body.

Tang Ye pulled the trigger, aimed at the glass, and emptied the magazine.

The windshield instantly shattered into a spiderweb pattern.

River water surged into the car from the gap.

In an instant!

Li Na was swallowed up.

Before Li Na could react, Tang Ye had already grabbed her arm and rushed her directly out of the car through the gap in the window.

Li Na choked on a few mouthfuls of water and hurriedly held her breath.

She usually had the habit of swimming and was naturally quite good in the water; even underwater, she could barely make out the surrounding environment.

Tang Ye held her hand tightly, kicked his legs, and swam straight toward the surface.

About ten seconds later, the heads of Tang Ye and Li Na surfaced one after the other.

Li Na gasped for air, and looking up, she saw Xing Zhijun and the police officers already approaching.

They were preparing to come over to rescue them.

Tang Ye wiped the water from his face and said to Xing Zhijun, "Liang Shiyu is in the back seat of the sedan; hurry and pull him up."

Xing Zhijun gave Tang Ye a complicated look and asked, "Are you alright?"

Tang Ye smiled, "I'm fine. Those few shots just now shattered the front windshield. This car is likely a total loss."

Xing Zhijun breathed a sigh of relief, "It was an old car to begin with; once this case is wrapped up, it'll be the perfect time to apply for a new one."

Tang Ye glanced at Li Na, knowing she could swim, let go of her, and swam straight toward the shore.

Li Na followed closely behind and climbed onto the bank.

A policewoman immediately walked over and wrapped a blanket around her.

A few minutes later, Liang Shiyu was also dragged out of the car.

His whole body was limp, and he could only stand steady with his arms being held up; his face was so swollen he was almost unrecognizable, bloodstains from the corners of his mouth mixed with lake water as they dripped down, and his chest and arms were covered in purple bruises—one look and it was clear he had taken quite a beating.

Xing Zhijun walked over, squatted down to check his condition, and couldn't help but gasp!

Tang Ye had truly been ruthless with his strikes earlier.

The car had been in a state of weightlessness when it plunged into the river.

In such a difficult environment, Tang Ye had still managed to engage in a struggle with the armed Liang Shiyu.

Both his physical fitness and mental fortitude were simply too powerful!

Xing Zhijun took out his phone and dialed Jin Weiguo's number.

"Mayor Jin, we waited for the rabbit in Zhangping County and finally caught Liang Shiyu.

Because his plan failed, he grew resentful and intended to take Li Na hostage; at the critical moment, Comrade Tang Ye stepped forward and volunteered to replace Li Na as the hostage.

Liang Shiyu ordered Tang Ye to drive, and Tang Ye intentionally drove the car into the artificial lake, engaging in a life-or-death struggle with Liang Shiyu amidst the chaos of the plunge.

The entire process was heart-stopping!

Although Liang Shiyu was armed, Comrade Tang Ye possessed the strength of character to remain fearless in the face of danger.

He not only subdued Liang Shiyu but also successfully rescued Li Na.

In this arrest operation, Comrade Tang Ye deserves the greatest credit.

The bravery, fearlessness, and resourcefulness he displayed are worth learning from for all of us."

Jin Weiguo had not expected Xing Zhijun to give such a high evaluation of Tang Ye.

"This cross-county arrest of Liang Shiyu from Dayu County fully demonstrates the mobility of the force; the city will provide commendations and awards later on.

Hurry up and escort Liang Shiyu to the City Bureau."

"Mayor Jin, there is one more matter that requires your attention—regarding the issue of Wang Kang."

Jin Weiguo's tone instantly became extremely serious:

"The City Bureau investigation team has already entered Zhangping County.

We have previously launched an investigation into Comrade Wang Kang, and we have a grasp on his whereabouts.

Rest assured, the public security force cannot tolerate even a single grain of sand!

We will certainly give the common people a satisfactory answer."

Zhangping County Public Security Bureau.

Wang Kang sat in his office, feeling constantly uneasy.

The door was suddenly pushed open.

A subordinate walked in with a grave expression.

"County Magistrate Wang, just received news, Liang Shiyu has been caught!"

Wang Kang found it very strange; the arrest of Liang Shiyu should certainly have been notified to him.

"Who made the arrest, and when did it happen?"

"Dayu County received instructions from the City Bureau to execute a cross-county arrest mission! The news just came in!"

Wang Kang's expression changed drastically!

Cold sweat broke out all over his back!

A cross-county arrest!

It meant that the public security system of Zhangping County had completely lost the trust of the City Bureau!
