Chapter 115: Hell Contract
Aoduli sulkily shut her mouth, feeling aggrieved and fell silent; beside her, Jiafunas was also helpless, having long sensed that this relic had been arranged by Hell, and perhaps even their encounter with the giant dragon was being secretly orchestrated by Hell's power.
If there were no giant dragon, this relic would essentially not exist for them; they could only hope that behind the gate, besides that high-level Artifact, there would be other things worth allocating.
After a tirade of curses, Raphael felt refreshed and prepared to continue signing the contract; soon, that treasure would be in his hands. Whether it takes a year, ten years, or a hundred, he would certainly find a way to use it.
The humanoid Cambion rose into the air, a massive surge of dark magic erupted, shattering his fragile handsome exterior; two huge flesh wings sprouted from his back, black demonic horns pierced his forehead's skull, revealing the devil's true form, and a mysterious infernal language called forth the contract's witness.
「Sororessurge. Testisestopactimei. 」
「Come, sisters, become my witnesses! NotumsitinBaator! 」
The devil's voice sounded like an ancient Summoning; two clusters of Hellfire rose into the air, and from each emerged a graceful human silhouette.
「NotumsitinBaator. 」
When the flames extinguished, the two beautiful, seductive female demons repeated that infernal phrase in a sweet, candy-like voice; as the Juan Ce Long fluent in all languages, Naimi Xisi understood its meaning—attendance at Baator.
This contract will, under the witness of the "Justice Sisters," be attended within the Ninth Layer of Hell (i. e., Baator).
The two female demons floated in the air with elegant poise, their faces bearing perfect smiles that showed eight teeth; they were not true demons, but personifications of the Ninth Layer of Hell's rules, the judges of all demonic contracts and trades throughout the Multiverse.
The purpose of order lies in fairness; even if devils like to exploit loopholes, Hell will never permit any fraudulent contract to appear. The Justice Sisters are the best judges; any devil who presents a false contract to deceive mortals must face the harshest, most terrifying punishment.
"My sisters, under Baator's witness, manifest the contract," Raphael declared.
The female demons, as if a switch had been flipped, summoned the ancient Hellish primal force to manifest in the mortal world.
「infernuscontractustevocamus. 」
That was an ancient infernal phrase, meaning "We call it the 【Hell Contract】, and it manifests in the mortal world."
In front of Raphael, a parchment materialized out of thin air, rising from the flames, covered with a contract written in infernal language. Naimi Xisi examined it closely; its gist was that Raphael would help him open the gate, and he would have to relinquish a "Naiser Crown" inside the gate.
"Naiser Crown?" Naimi Xisi frowned; he was not unfamiliar with the device. In the previous life's Baldur's Gate 3 game, the thing that controlled the Mind Flayer brain called the "Supreme True God" was exactly this.
In the original storyline, those villains in the game later stole this treasure from Raphael's vault; so it originally came from here? If so, the Baldur's Gate 3 plot hasn't even begun yet.
Thinking of the numerous deities appearing in the game and the importance of this item, Naimi Xisi felt relieved.
He wouldn't even take this troublesome thing if it were given to him for free.
Naimi Xisi closed his eyes and silently invoked the divine name of Oghma, praying that he would cast his scrutinizing gaze to help examine whether the contract before him had any issues.
Almost instantly, everyone felt a vast, holy will surrounding them, as if a being beyond the mortal realm were watching.
The perpetually perfect‑smiling Justice Sisters were also provoked; they lost their smiles, dangerously bared their fangs, and an extremely terrifying pressure radiated from their petite bodies.
"Wait, sisters, these are the terms I negotiated with the trader; Oghma will not intervene in the deal," Raphael hurriedly reached out to stop. A faint voice in the air said, "No problem," and then the holy will vanished without a trace.
Sensing Oghma's departure, the Justice Sisters regained their perfect smiles, though a flash of resentment flickered in their eyes; Hell's will despised those who, by virtue of their own great power, could disrupt order.
Having received Oghma's permission, Naimi Xisi felt at ease; regardless, he believed Raphael lacked the ability to deceive the master who holds all existing knowledge of the world.
He signed his name on the Hell Contract with his own blood, and soon the contract vanished into the air.
"Signed in blood, forged in fire, bound with bone, contract fulfilled!"
After the Justice Sisters retreated, shouting "Baator," Raphael's expression relaxed, and he chuckled, "Who said they'd never sign a contract with me?"
Naimi Xisi snorted coldly; indeed, the devil's temptation was lethal, forever leaving the trader without a reason to refuse. As it stands now, every condition in the contract satisfied him.
As for the Naiser Crown?
"I already said, whoever wants it can take it; it's a hassle galore."
Moreover, according to the plot, the crown Raphael painstakingly acquired can't be held for long.
"Give me the Scroll, I want to feel the sensation of personally unleashing the Great Disintegration Technique," Naimi Xisi reached out, eager.
Raphael shrugged; he was indifferent. Though the Great Disintegration Technique was precious, his vault still contained at least three identical Scrolls. As a Hell Count, Raphael's wealth was beyond what natives of the material plane could imagine.
Naimi Xisi took the Scroll, approached the gate, and brushed the lock, feeling the surge of Arcane Power within.
The power of the Magic Danken Arcane Seal was so restrained yet so potent; it would not harm any toucher, but it absolutely barred all contact.
However, the Magic Danken Arcane Seal, which had faithfully fulfilled its duties for thirty thousand years, would disappear today.
As the blue Scroll tore, an unimaginable massive magical force manifested in the air, taking its true form: the howl of raging wind, the fury of thunder, nature's punishment upon all supernatural powers.
In an instant, Naimi Xisi's fingertips emitted a bright green beam; a vibrating hum rang through the air as a vortex swirled, dust billowed, and the "Spear that Annihilates All Defenses" struck the "Shield that Defends All."
"Boom!"
The massive energy manifested on the gate as if tangible, rippling outward; six chains continuously crumbled into dust, eventually dissipating into nothing.
The gate, sealed by ages of dust, collapsed.
The scene beyond the gate unfolded before Naimi Xisi; his pupils dilated, and he opened his mouth in astonishment.
Today is another 6,000 words split into three chapters; it feels much easier to write 2,000 words per chapter than 3,000—. —(End of chapter).
