Chapter 118: NaiSeRuiEr

~6 min read 1,182 words

La Feier thought a great deal in an instant, but said nothing; his secret plan was too important, and he could not risk being duped.

Naimi Xisi smiled. Yes, he knew La Feier's plan: that devil wanted to obtain the NaiSeRuiEr Crown from the heroes' hands, and thereby become the new Hell Lord.

If any layer's Hell Lord learned of it, they would devise every way to kill him, for the levels of Ba Tuo Di Yu are fixed, and aside from A Si Meng Ti Si, any Hell Lord can be replaced.

However, he cannot yet do so; in the long term after acquiring the crown, he has not yet discovered its use, and must wait until the Supreme True God appears for this treasure from the ancient NaiSeRuiEr Empire to reveal its true power.

"NaiSeRuiEr, indeed a great realm," Naimi Xisi said, not further provoking La Feier, but instead praising the crown in his hand.

La Feier was momentarily stunned, then calmly took up the thread, as if discarding the previous words: "Speaking of it, I once traveled that nation; before they turned into a desert, I must say, in the Multiverse, among the human realms I have seen, NaiSeRuiEr's magical development ranks at least in the top five."

NaiSeRuiEr was an ancient human magical empire that existed millennia ago; much of its history has faded into the cracks of time, yet Juan Ce Long's memory inheritance contains many memories related to it.

It was an extremely advanced magical realm; after the elves and dwarves relinquished the Throne, relying on mighty Arcane Power and a cruel slave system, NaiSeRuiEr ruled all of Frelen.

In that era, NaiSeRuiEr called Mages "Arcane Masters"; the highest Great Arcane Masters lifted cities into the sky, residing in floating cities alongside NaiSeRuiEr's pure human aristocracy.

In that era, the ground was filled with NaiSeRuiEr's slaves; regardless of race, they had to do everything to please those god‑like Arcane Masters to survive, lest the torrent of spells cast from the floating cities turn them to ash.

Nevertheless, NaiSeRuiEr's Mages could not avoid their growing loss of humanity; they regarded cruelty as virtue and slaughter as entertainment.

The floating city pursued survivors and rebels on the ground day and night, snatching their lives with myriad spells.

Finally, until an Arcane Master named Yi Ao Le Mu invented a forbidden Legendary spell—the "Yi Ao Le Mu Longevity Technique"—this slaughter rose to a new level.

Countless powerful Legendary Arcane Masters harvested life on the earth with this spell; each slain sentient being granted them an extra year of life. Relying on this, NaiSeRuiEr's Great Arcane Masters began a prolonged rule.

If no mishap had occurred, perhaps today's Frelen would still belong to the NaiSeRuiEr dynasty.

But an accident was born.

Perhaps the gods' wrath, perhaps nature's retaliation, the bottom‑less slaughter by NaiSeRuiEr's Great Arcane Masters drew the attention of a race called the Frelen Magic Thistle.

Their origin unknown, they harbored hatred for the Great Arcane Masters, yet, immune to magic and able to freely siphon Arcane Power, they gradually destroyed NaiSeRuiEr.

The Frelen Magic Thistle drained the life of the fields and forests the Arcane Masters had cultivated, and the arid desert slowly covered the continent. The Mages were helpless, for their proud spells had no effect on these monsters.

The monsters easily absorbed the spell attacks from the floating city and reflected them, killing many Arcane Masters; NaiSeRuiEr's forces were forced to retreat to the floating city, watching the land turn to wasteland.

At that moment, a Great Arcane Master named Ka Er Sa Si stepped forward, attempting to devise an ultimate Legendary spell to counter the Frelen Magic Thistle; he named it the "Ka Er Sa Si Divine Spell".

From its name one can tell how fanciful this Legendary spell was, attempting to steal divine power with mortal might. At that instant, Ka Er Sa Si decided to use it to usurp the Magic Goddess—Mistra I's divine seat. The exact scene is unrecorded; the outcome was that Ka Er Sa Si's blind confidence led him to overestimate his strength, and with Mistra I's indulgence, a terrible disaster unfolded.

The Magic Net of the Tianyu Realm snapped at that instant; NaiSeRuiEr's floating city lost its power, plummeting like a meteor. Ghost‑blue Berserk Arcane fire ignited throughout the crystal barrier system, killing every living thing, and the massive NaiSeRuiEr dynasty was annihilated in a single night.

Ka Er Sa Si died, and Mistra I also perished, for she sacrificed herself to repair the Magic Net and save the realm's life, communicating with the Magic Net's essence that spans the Multiverse.

The new Magic Net spread from beyond the Tianyu Realm's crystal barrier, once again covering the planet TuoRuiEr; soon, by the appointment of the Great One, Mistra II was born from the new Magic Net and assumed the Magic Goddess's divine seat.

And the NaiSeRuiEr Crown is indeed a treasure left by such a powerful magical civilization.

After stowing the crown, La Feier left as silently as he arrived; it was the innate ability of the mighty Cambion, who can teleport to any shadowed corner of the world at will.

The shelf now lacked the crown, but still held several Magic Items; the high‑grade magic gems on the ground were also fine loot, delighting Ao Duo Li and Jia Fu Na Si, for it meant they could share some of the treasure.

Yet Juan Ce Long's greed shattered their illusion: "All the magic gems are mine; these tasty candies are perfect for decorating my lair."

"What?!" Ao Duo Li shouted. These magic gems were worth at least five hundred thousand gold coins; it was outrageous for the greedy dragon to take them all! Jia Fu Na Si also complained.

But Naimi Xisi said lightly: "It's because of me that you have the chance to take these from the treasury, isn't it?"

After all, from the start they learned that although they discovered the treasure, it was actually driven by Hell behind the scenes; Juan Ce Long's willingness to share this Hell‑gift was already generous.

"From the four Magic Items on the shelf, I'll take two as well."

Ao Duo Li and Jia Fu Na Si were somewhat unwilling, yet perhaps the lurking danger of a watching devil and the aura of those four powerful Magic Items made them covetous.

Not long after, they agreed, and that day added two more people in the world who deeply understood a dragon's greed.

"Very well," Naimi Xisi nodded satisfied, his eyes sparkling as he gathered the magic gems from the ground.

These gems are no simple items; each is a high‑grade magic gem.

Ordinary magic gems—such as cat's eye, obsidian, ruby, sapphire, emerald, and so on—are common in nature and possess decent magical power.

High‑grade magic gems, however, are different; they are extremely rare, even in the natural world.

For example—Canglv Stone, Bei Qiu Li Gem, Black Opal, Fire Opal, Deep Gold Stone, Moon Pattern Stone, King's Tear, Bright Black Tourmaline, Spotted Indigo Cang Stone, and so forth.
