Chapter 14: Goblin City and Food Sources

~6 min read 1,165 words

Naimi Xisi turned his gaze to Klanjatin, and although he had just shattered the other's weapon and taken his gem, under the innate greed of a True Dragon and Naimi Xisi's shamelessness, he said calmly, "As a return for your tribute to me, the great True Dragon—White Mystery, I allow you and your clan to become my Dependents; I will let you continue living in the mine to extract Cold Iron, but the difference is that all Cold Iron must belong to me!"

Klanjatin looked at the obviously malnourished Young Dragon Stage without changing expression and gave himself a title that sounded very impressive, muttering under his breath:

"That title was made up by you, right? It must be! Who would give a Young Dragon a title!"

The dwarves did not know that the vast majority of True Dragon titles are self‑made; they watch those powerful seniors thrive in societies of sentient beings, and after those petty beings assign them one imposing title after another.

They become envious! Titles like "Dragon of a Thousand Laws", "Apocalypse Crawler"—these mighty Legendary dragons make the True Dragon Clan start to become vain.

Thus a weak True Dragon like Naimi Xisi will create an imposing title for himself, spread it, and over time someone will eventually hear of it.

Klanjatin sighed; under a roof one must lower one's head. At least as Dependents, they are not death‑bound slaves.

The so‑called Dependents are the Core Servant of a True Dragon, acting like a Steward, managing other Monster Armies or, like the Gray Dwarf, a race with unique skills.

Naimi Xisi kept the Gray Dwarf race for exactly that reason.

Gray Dwarves are a race that lives alongside ore; they dwell in veins, and mining and forging ore are their greatest hobbies, and they possess superb craftsmanship.

With their presence, Naimi Xisi effectively has a batch of free miners.

Klanjatin asked hopefuly, "Great True Dragon, may we, after extracting ore, forge it into weapons and give them to you, so that you will have enough weapons to equip your army!"

Naimi Xisi snorted coldly, knowing the Gray Dwarves' petty thoughts perfectly; they only want the pleasure of forging weapons. As for those Hyena Werewolves, they are merely Cannon Fodder he can create at will, unfit to use his assets! "Do not fool the great White Mystery! When I say ore, I mean ore! If you wish to forge weapons, first find a buyer; as long as someone buys a weapon, you can forge one!"

The Young Dragon Stage said slyly, hoping the Gray Dwarves could teach themselves and become the best sellers; after all, he only needs gold coins and gems to fill his lair, and he dislikes those cold, hard broken stones!

If anyone is willing to buy, he will have the Gray Dwarves turn all the stones into weapons to sell.

Klanjatin's eyes lit up at the word buyer; they have them! A few dozen li beyond these two caves lies an underground city built by Goblins—Bricolekt City.

The Goblin Tribe living there is far stronger than most Goblins of the Upper Dark Region, because Bricolekt City's leadership consists of a group of Blue Goblins (Goblins with Psychic Ability) and Bear Goblins.

The leader who controls this tribe is a Bear Goblin who is a Seventh-level Warrior and also a Shadow Path——Wanderer, Volensa.

And a Blue Goblin with the profession of Sixth-level Psychic Sorcerer, Gelikete.

After settling here, Gray Dwarves often bring forged Cold Iron Weapons to Bricolekt City to trade for food; since the Underdark teems with many fey beings, and Cold Iron is the only ore that can harm them, their weapons sell extremely well.

Moreover, Bricolekt City is the only orderly place nearby, so many races come here to trade. Klanjatin relayed this information to Naimi Xisi, and the Young Dragon Stage became somewhat curious.

"A city ruled by Goblins—interesting. The Blue Goblins who wield Psychic Ability might be a good chance for me to encounter this Spiritual Power."

"No, it's not time to rush yet."

"At least let me pass the Youth Stage before I go see."

Naimi Xisi is very patient; he always waits until he has enough certainty—one Seventh-level Psychic Sorcerer and a Seventh-level Warrior who also moonlights as a Wanderer, plus the Goblin army in the city, he does not wish to take risks.

Who knows whether those brain‑cells not yet walnut‑sized idiots will see him and go crazy, wanting to Bath in Dragonblood and become Dragonblood Goblins.

"The primary issue now is solving the food problem!"

He has over sixty Monsters to raise, plus his own massive appetite. A True Dragon's growth accelerates with their consumption; if Naimi Xisi wants to quickly enter the Youth Dragon Stage, he must devour massive amounts of flesh and blood.

"And Cold Iron Ore—this magical material also speeds up growth."

A True Dragon's stomach can melt all things, and magical ore is naturally one of its recipes, even more effective than flesh and blood, provided one can endure the terrible taste of eating stone.

"Are there any signs of creature groups nearby?" Undecided, Naimi Xisi asked the native Klanjatin.

"Hmm, I recall a Stoneblind Barbarian tribe to the west; they herd a bunch of Meat Fungus, but those guys are even more xenophobic than us Gray Dwarves. Since we arrived here, we've only met them a few times."

Naimi Xisi's mouth watered at the mention of Meat Fungus; this special fungus, found only in the Underdark, tastes like real animal flesh, has no intelligence, does not move, and is an excellent food source.

If he can farm Meat Fungus, it will sufficiently feed him, Ogel, and a few Barbarian Soldiers. As for the other Hyena Werewolves, he can send them out to gather plants and small animals, since they are fully controlled by Mind Gems and will not rebel like other Monsters when they cannot find flesh.

"Stoneblind Barbarian tribe—how strong are they?" the Young Dragon Stage asked carefully, interested in those who farm Meat Fungus.

Klanjatin scratched his head and said, "Their leader seems to be a fourth-level Warrior, far weaker than me, but their tribe numbers about seventy."

Naimi Xisi relaxed and said, "In that case, I allow you to lead the Hyena Werewolf troops to the Stoneblind Barbarian tribe and make them submit under the great White Mystery!"

Seeing that those neighbors could not escape becoming Dependents of a True Dragon, Klanjatin couldn't help but gloat, cheerfully promising, "Rest assured, master, I will let them know they have only two fates: Dependents and food!"

Naimi Xisi, hearing the word food, made a disgusted grimace; the Stoneblind Barbarian tribe looks almost human, except they lack eyes and noses and their skin is gray scales; eating them feels like cannibalism. Though he has long been reborn as a dragon and many of the True Dragon's instincts deeply affect Naimi Xisi, the disgusting act of eating people is something he cannot accept.
