Chapter 230: Journey to Earth!
"Subject 11 also disappeared?" Xia Nai asked anxiously.
Unlike the two of them, Subject 11 is just a child with no strength at all, and even his Psychic Ability works intermittently; his sudden disappearance inevitably raises suspicion of an accident.
Fa Qi nodded heavily.
He sighed and said: "Earlier, to prevent accidents, I had asked Subject 11 in advance for a quota to go to her world."
"Once she appeared at a meeting, looking a bit frightened; I asked her what was wrong, and she asked who I was!"
"I was stunned then; it was so strange. Fearing she might have a problem, I explained everything here, then obtained her consent and accompanied her back to her world for a look."
"I didn't expect that as soon as we arrived, I fell unconscious during the teleport, and woke up bound to a steel bed, surrounded by blank walls and glaring light."
"I saw a group of mask‑wearing people in strange clothes approach; terrified, I quickly used the Throne to teleport back."
"I was grateful then; if I hadn't obtained the spell to create an alternate space from the Solomon King ruins and hidden the Throne, I probably couldn't have escaped at all."
"I feared Subject 11 might have an accident, so in the second month I hurried to the Throne; she did appear, but said this might be her last visit, as her Mind Gem was discovered by her father."
"I was worried too, but I knew my modest magical skill would only be a token gesture, so I wondered if I could obtain consent in advance and reserve a chance to go to Subject 11's world, waiting for you to have time to come and see."
"It actually succeeded!"
Fa Qi babbled on, then looked anxiously at the two Naimi Xisi and said: "Can you go check on Subject 11? My power is too weak, old Jia La Te cannot leave, and I fear Subject 11 might have an accident."
Naimi Xisi glanced at Fa Qi in surprise; he had only ever seen that little girl from two sides, and didn't expect Fa Qi to have a good relationship with her.
Xia Nai's face darkened as she said: "This"
She gritted her teeth and said, "I have urgent business, I truly can't get away; I must return to Sword Bay within a month."
She hesitated, then asked Naimi Xisi: "Could you go check? I have some savings here; I'll ask my mentor to hire someone to pay for my return. It might be a bit pricey, but I estimate it's just enough, so you don't need to bring me along."
Naimi Xisi waved his hand; he didn't mind going to see, and in fact he was quite curious whether the Earth where Subject 11 resides was the same Earth he once knew.
However, his current methods are extraordinary; having multiple bodies is no problem for him.
"No need, I'll go back with you; I'll also check on Subject 11, and the two won't interfere with each other."
Naimi Xisi's words left Fa Qi and Jia La Te puzzled, while Xia Nai seemed to have an epiphany.
"Is it a simulation? But given your current Mage level..."
Xia Nai was somewhat tactful, thinking that Naimi Xisi's simulation power might be too weak to go to an unknown place.
There is only one chance to go to Subject 11's world; wasting it would be bad.
Naimi Xisi let out a light hum; his simulation power is indeed very strong—despite lacking Power Gem and Mind Gem enhancements, it surpasses same‑level Mages by far.
But he also knew how unscientific his spell power was, so he didn't intend to explain, merely saying, "It's decided then; rest assured, it's enough."
Having said that, he summoned a simulation.
To ensure success, Naimi Xisi generously gave the simulation many of his unused Magic Items, such as a Psychic Remote Control Magic Ring, a Protective Elemental Energy Damage Ring, a Master‑level Plastic Energy Magic Ring, an Obsidian Death Staff, Feathered Serpent Wings, and so on.
Having many Artifacts, he no longer cared for these trinkets, and with his ample wealth, selling these Magic Items fetched him no significant profit.
Giving them to the simulation was just right.
He used his Psychic Ability to slice a portion of his Spiritual Power into the simulation, then, with the Throne's aid, teleported it away.
"Gate that connects all, appear!"
Naimi Xisi uttered the incantation granted by the Throne; a dazzling portal resembling a starry sky materialized before him, and the simulation quickly stepped into it and vanished.
After entering the portal, the simulation instantly felt its connection to its original body severed; although Spiritual Power still sustained its consciousness, it gave Naimi Xisi a chill.
He knew this would likely cause that portion of the original body's Spiritual Power to be permanently severed, requiring considerable time to heal the mental damage.
The simulation didn't have time to ponder further and entered a corridor whose four walls reflected a galaxy‑like brilliance.
At the corridor's end was a faintly glowing door; he walked slowly to push it open, and the next moment, he lost consciousness.

United States — Indiana — Hawkins Town.

When Naimi Xisi woke up, he felt a severe headache, his mind a blank, unable to recall anything.
He realized he was in an unfamiliar place, resembling a laboratory corridor.
The lighting was dim, with only a few ceiling lights emitting faint glows, casting dull shadows on the walls. The floor was cold gray stone slabs, and the white walls bore mottled marks, as if recounting past bustle and noise.
On both sides of the corridor were tightly shut rooms; distant footsteps occasionally echoed. Each room door's wall bore a number, incomprehensible in meaning.
Naimi Xisi suddenly covered his head and shouted, the headache intensifying.
He heard a sharp ringing in his mind, like countless bees frantically beating near his ears, the sound growing from faint to strong, assaulting his nerves, causing excruciating pain, and his hands instinctively clamped his ears.
Moments later, the intense tinnitus receded like a tide, replaced by a series of unfamiliar yet familiar images flashing in his mind like a film, as memory fragments rapidly pieced together.
Naimi Xisi knelt on the cold, hard floor, and after a while lifted his head, his gaze shifting from bewilderment to growing clarity.
He recalled his memories.
When he pushed the door open, he realized how great the cost of traversing the crystal barrier system was. Was it due to the Throne or the simulation?
After opening the door, a massive mysterious energy surged into his body, nearly exploding his brain.
He knelt on the ground, screaming in pain without end.
But that wasn't the worst; the more tragic part was that the place he appeared in was exactly a laboratory‑like facility he now found himself in.
Although Naimi Xisi lost his memory, his instinct from having lived in modern times remained.
After he fainted from the pain, laboratory guards appeared and restrained the intruder who had suddenly materialized from nowhere.
A Doctor named Martin Brenner ordered the guards to bind him tightly, because surveillance showed that this silver‑haired man, who seemed unusually distinguished, was...
