Chapter 39: The Ruler

~6 min read 1,178 words

Puff!!

WuAngNuoSi's body slammed hard onto the ground, the earth even trembled a bit; he lay there, spitting fresh blood, with a huge dent in his chest.

"You... damn it. How did you get out..." WuAngNuoSi asked weakly, out of breath.

From a distance, the figure that walked slowly was Sarufar; he rotated his wrist as if stretching his muscles.

"When you go down to the Ninth Prison you'll find out, you dark‑skinned brat," Sarufar showed a ferocious grin.

His thigh muscles tensed, then with a burst of force he surged forward through the swirling dust toward WuAngNuoSi, his fist getting ever closer; he had already imagined the joyous scene of tearing Drow apart with his own hands.

But WuAngNuoSi only looked at him mockingly, making no move.

"How... how could this be!"

Sarufar stared at his own fist in shock; just a few decimeters away was WuAngNuoSi's hateful face, yet his own body seemed out of his control.

He couldn't move; no, his whole body was actively trying to distance itself from Drow.

WuAngNuoSi strained to lift one hand, holding a beautifully crafted Scroll that had already been torn apart.

Six-ring Abjuration spell 【Barrier Against Living Creatures】.

Sarufar used all his strength to break free of that restraint, but could not get a single step closer; under the spell's effect, he simply could not approach.

The staff in WuAngNuoSi's hand emitted a black glow, a decaying, rotting aura sweeping over Sarufar's body.

Five-ring Necromancy spell — 【Fatigue Wave】.

Sarufar quickly withdrew his hand, trying to dodge, but the aura had already seeped onto him; his flesh, under the curse, became utterly exhausted.

The Necromancer trembled as he raised a finger, mana boiling rapidly; his blood‑stained white hair floated in the air while he chanted the incantation word by word.

"AlfagoDastroeySakjlumando"

A speck of green gathered at his fingertip, like rebirth, like ruin—the ever‑changing power of destruction.

Six-ring Transformation spell — 【Disjunction】! Boom!!

A violent explosion erupted suddenly; flames shooting skyward devoured his body, followed by lightning, ice, a torrent of disaster‑like energy waves bombarding in succession.

Amid those wild magical surges, it was the unremarkable green beam that WuAngNuoSi's fingertip finally fired, and Sarufar, struck by that beam, whose body kept regenerating then perishing, ultimately turning to ash.

Naimi Xisi in the sky waited tensely for the smoke to clear, and only after seeing the mage's body reduced to nothing but scraps did he let out a sigh.

Indeed, he never expected Sarufar to defeat WuAngNuoSi from the start.

All he needed was a bait, a bait that could guarantee the opponent would have no chance to use any instant‑death spell on him again.

Even if Sarufar didn't kill him, as long as he forced him to utter the incantation, he would seize the chance to unleash a barrage of Psychic Ability.

And if the opponent, wary of lurking danger, dared not cast? Then once the duration of 【Barrier Against Living Creatures】 ends, the enraged Sarufar would naturally tear it apart ruthlessly; Naimi Xisi would not risk an attack, but wait patiently.

From the moment Sarufar's ambush succeeded, WuAngNuoSi's death was sealed.

Unfortunately, Sarufar, directly hit by 【Disjunction】, also died utterly; even the Warrior's exemplar power — 【Superfast Regeneration】 could not save him.

Naimi Xisi sighed in relief; a High-level Mage's power is truly overwhelming—if not for Sarufar, that brainless orc serving as a shield, he wouldn't have gotten within a single step of the opponent.

But now, everything is over. He turned his head casually toward the ground; the orcs were mostly dead, while the Dark Elf side still had a hundred or two hundred Shadow Swords, leading an army of nearly a thousand Undead and Monsters.

Although his Mana, under frequent 【Space Jump】 and 【Energy Cone】, was drained to only one‑third, he still retained a large number of Spell Slots.

As a Spellcaster, he would never allow himself to fall into mana depletion.

Naimi Xisi descended gracefully to the ground; WuAngNuoSi's death seemed to intimidate most of the Dark Elf army, who stared at the silver True Dragon with fear, yet dared not advance.

Just a few hours earlier, the memory of two dragons ravaging the battlefield still lingered in their minds.

Naimi Xisi's eyes glowed; now was the time to collect spoils.

He let out a thunderous roar, Dragon Might ravaging the battlefield; aside from the Undead that went berserk due to WuAngNuoSi's death, all other beings halted.

"Listen up, bugs, now let's play a game."

Naimi Xisi exhaled a puff of hot air from his nostrils, his dark‑yellow vertical pupils brimming with cruelty.

"I give you five minutes to flee; after five minutes, any creature still within my sight shall die!"

The Dark Elves glanced at each other, making no move, while the goblins and orcs already fled in terror.

"Don't move, don't run! You lowly slaves, damned fools, he's just a young dragon, why should so many of us be afraid?"

Some greedy Dark Elves, instead of confronting the threat, brandished whips to intimidate the slaves, forbidding escape.

Naimi Xisi gave a strange laugh, a yellow halo rising slowly in his eyes.

Those few headstrong Dark Elves, under his control, froze in place, then bizarrely drew long swords and began slicing their own throats.

As their strength waned with the flowing blood, those Dark Elves took over a dozen seconds to finally sever their own heads.

A few heads that fell to the ground stared with resentful and fearful eyes at the others, and the remaining Dark Elves screamed wildly in terror.

What a terrifying, evil scene.

At least in their understanding, no spell in this world could make someone voluntarily cut off their own head; that's a demon—no, even a demon couldn't do it! The army fell into chaos, the Dark Elves began to flee under the dragon's threatening gaze, and the Monsters, without a controlling master, also panicked.

Naimi Xisi shook his head at the fleeing Shadow Swords, they couldn't all run away; he still intended to replace his own close‑quarters troops with them.

Yes, in Naimi Xisi's design, his Mind Power will in the future focus on controlling sufficiently powerful beings as his personal followers.

Rather than those consumable‑type Monsters.

In an instant, the over thirty Level‑5 Shadow Sword Drow hidden in the city, and a hundred Coyote Wolves hundreds of kilometers away, all received orders.

They cleanly and decisively ended their own lives.

Naimi Xisi turned toward the fleeing Shadow Swords, his massive Mind Power forcefully invading their inner worlds.

In an instant, fifty carefully chosen Level‑6 Shadow Sword Warriors, under his control, halted, kneeling on one knee in humble posture to greet their master.

Juan Ce Long floated before them, nodding satisfactorily, showing no sign that he had just ended the lives of hundreds of beings in an instant.

The ability to freely manipulate others' minds is overwhelmingly powerful; two endless battlefield slaughters have reshaped his perception.

Now Naimi Xisi has begun to slowly get used to the ZhuZhuZhe identity that decides others' fates.
