Chapter 53: Dragon and Adventurers

"You and your sister? Then where is your sister?" Ma Luo found it somewhat odd.

The boy shrugged indifferently and said, "Her? She was taken by a Minotaur, probably somewhere giving birth now."

"Hm," Bu Lietani also sensed something off, "Why do you seem not very anxious?"

The boy frowned, thought for a moment, recalling how human society would react to such a situation, then smiled and added, "Our relationship isn't very good."

Bu Lietani nodded thoughtfully and said, "I see."

"What a ghost of 'I see'!" Ao Li Fu was a bit overwhelmed, does this Tiefling's mind follow its appearance?

"No matter how bad the relationship, you wouldn't be this calm! And how did a child survive coming from the Underdark!"

Ke Li Te remained silent, a cold bead of sweat forming on her forehead, something was off.

The mysterious boy seemed to treat them like toys, grasping for the worst possible excuses, yet not at all worried about exposing himself.

Years of combat experience let her keenly notice his body was in an extreme state of relaxation, as if his whole form was riddled with flaws.

He didn't regard his group at all! The blonde girl's magical longsword in her hand ignited with emerald flame, instantly drawing everyone's attention.

Bu Lietani remained boisterous, looking at her with an incredulous expression and scolding, "Ke Li Te, what are you crazy about? He's just a child! Do you intend to kill a child!"

Ao Li Fu scratched his head with his claws, shouted angrily, "He's a hammer's child, at this age in the countryside you can already marry and have kids! Do you have any brain at all, Bu Lietani!"

The tall Tiefling female Sorcerer glared viciously at the spotted catfolk, "You stinky cat, you get teased with a cat toy every day, and now you dare insult me! Watch out, I'll take you to a pet clinic and neuter you!"

The spotted catfolk inhaled deeply, his whole body bristling; he hates being compared to a cat the most!

Seeing the squad about to clash, Ke Li Te coldly shouted, "Enough, how long do you want others to watch this joke!"

The few fell silent instantly, looking toward the direction Ke Li Te was staring at.

The boy watched them with keen interest, as if watching a live stage play.

The Hu Meng on his shoulder rolled and laughed, "Hahaha, humans are so stupid, humans are so stupid! Boss, we should capture them and make them perform arguments for us every day!"

The Hu Meng's mockery made everyone instantly realize the boy had been teasing them all along, even Bu Lietani's gaze turned angry, and the irritable Tiefling despised being deceived.

"Who exactly are you, and what do you want?" Ke Li Te flamboyantly swung her sword, the blade pointing at the boy as she questioned.

Naimi Xisi said somewhat troubled, "I'm doing this for your own good; if you choose to trust me and take me back to a human city, we'd all be happy, wouldn't we?"

"Now," he spread his hands and said slowly, "we have no choice but to use another method."

There was no sound, yet everyone seemed to hear howling gale in their ears, a terrifying pressure surged from the boy as if a king reigning over the world.

Their muscles tensed, they knelt involuntarily, the ancient instinct encoded by ancestors millions of years ago warning them that this was an invincible predator, a Monster at the top of the food chain.

"Dragon is a dragon." Ma Luo fell to his knees, struggling to speak.

Still barely holding on, Ke Li Te gasped rapidly amid the Dragon Might, her eyes filled with horror and fear. This terrifying Dragon Might was at least at the level of a young dragon, capable of suppressing a 7th‑level sword singer like herself to such a degree.

She despaired. A young dragon, aside from the weakest White Dragon, has entered level 11; only a strong one with exemplar power can handle it.

Yet in her squad, aside from herself, none were above sixth level! "Yes, it's a dragon," Naimi Xisi smiled in acknowledgment.

He opened his thick Spellbook, leafing page by page, muttering, "Let me think, which spell can make you die without pain? Hmm, this won't work, the area is too wide; I need to leave a survivor. Hmm, this also isn't good, looks ugly and will dirty my floor."

"Ah, found it!" As everyone felt a chill, Naimi Xisi closed the book, delighted with the decision.

A mysterious incantation rang from the boy's mouth, but Ma Luo couldn't understand most of it; as a fifth‑level prophetic Mage, he realized it must be the legendary Dragon language, a language imbued with magic.

Conjuration Spell Circle—【Terrifying Devour】! A blob of gelatin surged from the ground, coalescing into a three‑meter‑high sphere; a fissure split the sphere's center, and two rows of sharp teeth appeared inside the gelatinous mass.

Naimi Xisi said satisfied, "Not bad, it's called a Gelatinous Monster; I call it a Glutton. When it engulfs you, strong acid will dissolve your muscles and fat, and the bones will be used to replenish its teeth. It's a very eco‑friendly little fellow."

The Gelatinous Monster seemed to understand, emitting a gurgling sound and spitting out a bubble.

Ma Luo shouted loudly, "No! I don't want to be eaten by the Gelatinous Monster! I haven't become a famous Legendary Mage of Frelen yet, Mistress, please save me!"

Naimi Xisi curled his lip, "Humans are always so mysteriously confident; is being a Legendary Mage really that easy?"

"Wait a moment!" Ke Li Te gritted her teeth and called out to him.

"I am the daughter of Mende Rosa; as long as you keep me, I won't disappoint you."

Ke Li Te's words left the other teammates staring at her in shock, while Naimi Xisi remained clueless.

Seeing his bewildered expression, Ke Li Te continued, "The Rosa family rules Degun City; my father was made an earl by King Bitu himself. As long as you keep me, I will swear loyalty to you; once I inherit the title, the whole of Degun City will belong to you."

As long as she lives, as long as she lives. She will use every means to climb up! The Rosa family is hers, the earldom is hers, and that detestable giant dragon, she will slay it when the time is right!

The girl's heart ignited with unprecedented ambition; she realized that this giant dragon could become the greatest aid to her ascent to the earldom.

Naimi Xisi stroked his chin; Ke Li Te's words piqued his interest. The surface differs from the Underdark; if he flamboyantly revealed his true form to rule Degun, famed adventurers would soon trouble him.

But hiding in the shadows and using human hands would be different.

Degun City is unlike the Goblin City workshop; surface wealth compared to underground is like heaven versus earth.

Vast resources will flow through his hands, fill his lair, accelerating his growth.

It must be said, Ke Li Te's words moved him.

"Your proposal has moved me, human," the silver‑haired boy announced.

"But I don't need your oath; I have a better method," he smiled, his yellow vertical pupils emitting a mesmerizing glow.
