Chapter 316: Her Eyes Are Full of Him

~7 min read 1,353 words

He arrived in town.

He found a noodle shop.

Wu An ordered a bowl of beef noodles; just as he sat down, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was a call from the shipyard manager.

Recently, the shipyard manager has been bothering him a lot, wanting him to come to the shipyard to take a look.

Wu An thought it over; since he was already going to the county today, if there was an opportunity he would go to the shipyard to have a look.

Whether he buys or not aside, it's good to first get a sense of the situation.

He answered.

The shipyard manager, surnamed Wang, was quite enthusiastic; his opening words were "Old Brother Wu".

Wu An called out "Old Brother".

Although the greeting was friendly, Manager Wang's sales skills were quite ordinary; he just kept saying the same things over and over.

Wu An didn't beat around the bush either, saying, "Old Brother, don't waste your breath."

Hearing those words on the phone, Manager Wang's heart skipped a beat.

Their shipyard isn't big, and with several other shipyards in the county squeezing each other, this small shipyard lacks sufficient funds and simply can't compete with the others.

The worst part is that orders are really too few.

Otherwise, as a ship captain and manager overseeing so many people, he wouldn't have to personally call customers.

If they can't find any more orders, their fate will either be bankruptcy or being forced into a peaceful settlement.

Manager Wang sighed in his heart, was about to hang up and continue calling others, when the receiver transmitted Wu An's voice: "This afternoon, if I have time I'll come over."

"I can't guarantee it."

Manager Wang's spirits lifted, and he said, "Old Brother, let me tell you: as soon as you confirm, I'll start work right away; even for a forty- or fifty-meter trawler, I can deliver it in three months!"

Wu An blinked: "Really?"

"Really." Manager Wang laughed: "I have the final say in the shipyard; daring to say that means I can do it."

"What if you can't do it?"

"If I can't, I'll give you the ship for free."

"Hahaha." Wu Anle laughed: "Old Brother Wang, just for those words, I'll go this afternoon."

"Then I'll await you, Old Brother."

"Then that's it for now."

Wu An had just put down his phone when he looked down and saw a bowl of beef noodles already placed before him.

It still had chili in it.

Wu An looked at Gu Anran, who was wiping her chopsticks, and asked, "Did you bring this over?"

Gu Anran handed him the chopsticks: "I saw you were on the phone, so I helped bring it over."

"Do you want a soda?"

Wu An shook his head.

"Go ahead and eat; this place's chili is fragrant but not spicy. If it's not enough, you can add more yourself—I remember you seem to really like spicy food."

"How do you know I like spicy food?"

"Just a guess… When we ate together before, I saw you always picking out chili peppers to eat."

Wu An fell silent for a moment.

This woman, her eyes are full of him!

He lowered his head and started eating.

Gu Anran recounted what she had talked about yesterday with the old lady, laughing: "You said you'd settle it well earlier; I even suspected you were the one who got Gu Jianfa thrown in."

Wu An laughed: "Maybe."

"Okay, okay, okay, it's you, it's you, you're amazing, you're amazing."

"This is already impressive; you haven't seen how truly impressive I can be yet,"

"What do you mean truly impressive?"

"Of course it's…"

Wu An hit the brakes urgently, almost blurting out the words "in bed".

He feared that if he said those words, it would scare Gu Anran into not letting him accompany her to the county.

Some things can be thought about, but it's not yet the time to say them outright.

"What do you want to say?"

"Nothing."

"Then what are you thinking, when do you plan…" Gu Anran stumbled over her words, feeling as if she were pushing for marriage.

Wu An's mind was full of lust at the moment; he didn't react in time and blurted, "I'm not really thinking about anything."

"By the way, after we get the medicine later, where should we go play?"

"Let's go to the park first," Gu Anran said, her eyes involuntarily dimming.

Wu An lowered his head to slurp his noodles, also not noticing: "Okay."

"Then let's go shopping together."

"Okay… cough cough cough."

"Is going shopping with me really that scary? Look how you're frightened." Gu Anran teased with a smile, also lightly patting his back and going to fetch a drink.

Wu An gulped down more than half the bottle, feeling very comfortable under Gu Anran's care, his heart light with joy, thinking to himself that this truly counted as happy water.

He had eaten half.

He saw peeled garlic cloves on the table, possibly left by the boss intending to use them, not yet cleared away.

He subconsciously grabbed one and stuffed it into his mouth.

He previously had no habit of eating garlic, but after staying away for a long time, his taste changed considerably.

It has to be said, eating noodles without garlic cuts the aroma in half; that saying is spot on.

Gu Anran watched, feeling somewhat depressed.

Having eaten the noodles heartily, Wu An let out a satisfied sigh, turned his head to Gu Anran, and keenly sensed that she seemed a bit unhappy.

"What's wrong? I see your brows furrowed, you seem a little unhappy."

"I'm not unhappy." Gu Anran snorted and said, "You ate garlic, your mouth stinks."

"Later..."

Saying this, she quickly stopped.

Wu An suddenly realized, laughing, "What happens later? Please continue."

"I won't say!"

"Come on, say it."

"Nothing will happen later!"

"Really?"

"Yeah."

Wu An hooked his hand, making a gesture to pull her.

"I don't like garlic taste, don't kiss me." Gu Anran placed her hand on his chest and said.

Wu An laughed and said, "I wasn't going to kiss you."

"Hmph, fine, fine, you better follow through!" Gu Anran, huffing, got up to leave.

Wu An looked at the boss inside the small window.

The boss pursed his lips: "Thanks, your girlfriend already paid."

Wu An nodded, grabbed his bag and headed out, then pulled Gu Anran into his arms and said, "I have gum in my bag."

"At worst, I'll find a place later and brush my teeth three times."

"I guarantee it'll be sweet—you'll taste it and want more."

"Pah." Gu Anran turned her face: "Who wants to taste it?"

Though she said that, the face she turned away was bursting with a smile.

"I want to—I want to taste it, and if I taste it I'll want more, okay?"

"Keep it down, you… oh dear…"

Before she could finish, she was given a hard suck.

Gu Anran looked bashfully, while Wu An was already chewing gum in his mouth: "That's about right."

She was very happy.

Some details Wu An showed made her feel he truly cared for her.

Such emotional value, she really needed it.

Seeing Gu Anran laugh so happily, Wu An blew a bubble and said, "Look at you happy—this is just the beginning."

Gu Anran also took a piece of gum, stuffed it in her mouth: "You don't understand anything."

Wu An hummed, "Little sis, I know plenty—later I'll let you see plenty."

The two arrived at the intersection.

Soon a vehicle arrived.

They boarded.

Luckily, not many people were heading to the county at this time, so they found seats toward the back.

Gu Anran sat by the window, he sat near the aisle.

No one was around front, back, left, or right.

The only drawback was probably that being toward the back, the engine noise was loud and it swayed more.

Although they were on a bus, there was still some privacy, so they could secretly play with some couple's little toys.
