Chapter 386: Drive Away
The walkie-talkie transmitted Fan Dali's inquiry: "A An, are you in or not?"
At the same time, Fan Xiao Zhu shouted anxiously: "Don't worry about whether we're in or not—just ram them first."
Lao Fu Tou didn't speak; he just looked at Wu An.
Mei Wu and A Qing were still cursing while jumping up and down.
Ma Weiqun's deckhands, too, had lost all shame and began cursing; one of the ruffians even stood at the rail, letting two people hold him up.
They started urinating on Wu An's fishing boat.
Loud laughter broke out on Ma Weiqun's boat.
A Qing, furious, hurled his spear straight at them, but he was too weak—it didn't hit anyone and fell into the sea.
Mei Wu turned back: "A An, pull closer!"
Wu An held back his anger and said: "Don't act rashly!"
"You can't see that they've already prepared and are just waiting for us to pull up."
"Count how many of them there are."
Mei Wu had already seen clearly and shouted: "Nine of them; with us plus Fan Dali and his son, we also have seven—maybe we can beat them."
A Qing also shouted: "I can take three on my own—no problem."
Wu An shook his head: "You know if there's anyone hiding in the cabin."
"If we rashly charge over, the danger is too great."
"If things blow up, it won't be as simple as just getting caught poaching."
Lao Fu Tou sighed and nodded in agreement.
Wu An's consideration was very sound.
He had originally intended to remind Wu An, but he didn't expect Wu An to be so calm and consider everything thoroughly.
A Qing glared, excitedly shouting: "What does that even mean?"
"Are we just going to watch?"
"Brother, I can't stand it at all."
Mei Wu said: "A An, they were definitely stealing before too; last time we let it slide because we didn't catch them in the act and couldn't find them."
"But now… they're openly robbing!"
"They've pushed us too far—I can't take it anymore!"
Wu An said in a low voice: "Charging in and fighting is simple, but what if you, A Qing, Lao Fu, I, and everyone else get hurt?"
"I bring you out to sea—I have to bring you all back safe and whole."
"Shout at them, tell them to scram!"
A Qing said irritably: "Brother… what you're saying… is utterly useless."
"If you shout like that, they'll just laugh even louder."
"I… I won't shout."
Wu An kicked him: "If I tell you to shout, you shout."
A Qing pouted, grabbed the loudspeaker and began shouting; sure enough, the other side, feeling emboldened, taunted him, saying Wu An shouldn't be a coward and should come fight.
Mei Wu held up his phone to film.
But Ma Weiqun, experienced, turned his boat sideways; they stood in a line, blocking the view completely, so filming from the boat captured nothing of their stealing the crab pots.
Inside the cabin.
Ma Weiqun smoked leisurely, watching the commotion.
Wu An being such a coward was beyond his expectation.
But that's also fine.
He's after money, and he doesn't want to hurt anyone.
As long as we don't interfere with each other, once the crab pots are hauled in, he'll naturally leave.
Even though we've already broken ties.
Ma Weiqun isn't scared either; as long as Wu An can't get any evidence, it's all smooth sailing—but if Wu An plays dirty, that's like brandishing a big sword in front of Guan Yu's temple.
Ma Weiqun, from his teens to now in his thirties, has been mixing it up for nearly twenty years—that's not for nothing.
Over the years he's offended plenty, yet he still gets along swimmingly.
Someone as young as Wu An? He doesn't even register in his eyes.
He was feeling pleased when he saw Dai Shuai this kid swaying about, shouting: "What are you wandering around for? Go stand guard at the rail—you're not needed for hauling the crab pots."
Dai Shuai responded somewhat nervously, turned, and walked to the side of the boat.
Ma Weiqun didn't think much of it, just assuming Dai Shuai was timid.
Mei Wu stood at the highest point, holding up his phone, but after filming for a while, when he checked the video he muttered gloomily: "I didn't catch anything."
"What are we supposed to do now?"
Just as he was sighing, the Fan clan's fishing boat suddenly surged forward.
Fan Dali and Fan Xiao Zhu, brothers, raised their spears; when the distance seemed about right, they hurled them hard—and sure enough, the spears stuck into Ma Weiqun's fishing boat.
The deckhands standing at the rail were frightened and dodged aside.
Seeing that, A Qing and Mei Wu gleefully threw their arms up: "Nice work, Big Brother Dali, Little Brother Zhu—awesome, just a bit off aim."
Fan Dali and Fan Xiao Zhu were also pleased, but not for long—the other side, not being mere targets, threw their spears back.
Fortunately the two brothers dodged in time, otherwise they'd surely have been cut.
Fan Lao Tou was scared half to death, quickly steered the boat away, and afterward the deck had a few extra spears stuck in it.
Wu An hurriedly got in touch with Fan Dali via the walkie-talkie.
"We can't do it like this; we can throw, and they can also throw."
Fan Dali sighed: "I just can't get over my anger."
"At sea it's still okay to talk; if we fight, it's over."
"If we return to shore and try to cause trouble for Ma Weiqun again, we might end up getting hit back by him."
Wu An thought for a moment, looked toward the not-far Xuan Ya Dao, and said: "Let's go around, head to the island to pick up stones."
"Throw stones at them!"
Lao Fu Tou's eyes lit up: "I think it'll work."
"There's broken stone on the island; if we throw it, it will definitely go farther than throwing a fish spear."
A Qing urged: "Then let's hurry."
They steered the boat around to the other side of Xuan Ya Dao.
They landed on the island with difficulty.
Wu An and A Qing went over and picked up many stones of suitable size.
Their movements naturally couldn't escape the notice of Ma Weiqun's ship workers, who immediately informed Ma Weiqun, who asked: "How much have you salvaged?"
A subordinate shouted: "Sixteen!"
"The later rows still have a decent haul."
"Wu An's group really has good luck."
Someone said: "Hmph, I think this place is good, it's a nice nest."
"Boss, I think we can take over this place."
Ma Weiqun waved his hand: "Whether we occupy it or not can be discussed later; first, let's focus on salvaging."
"If it doesn't work, we retreat."
Just as they were speaking, they heard a shout from outside: "Holy crap, stones are flying over!"
"Everyone, dodge quickly!"
Ma Weiqun was about to go out to look when he heard a "bang bang bang" sound; the ship's canopy was smashed, and a stone fell right in front of him.
"Damn!"
"Retreat, retreat quickly!"
Ma Weiqun shouted loudly.
He gave the order; someone didn't dodge in time and got hit, fortunately not in the head, but because they dodged too slowly, the stone hit the top of their foot, causing them to painfully flop onto the deck and roll around.
Ma Weiqun was furious: "Let's settle the score with them when we get back."
He looked left and right.
Du Shuai was standing beside him; everyone else had something to do, but he just stood there like an idiot, so he went up and slapped him, saying: "What the hell are you just standing there for?"
"Damn, you don't even deserve to hide in the cabin."
"Go out and help tidy the crab pots."
On the two opposing fishing boats.
Fan Dali was very pleased and said: "Did you see that? My stone hit its mark."
A Qing shouted: "Brother Dali, you're awesome!"
"They ran away."
"Chase after them quickly!"
Wu An said: "Don't chase."
"If Ma Weiqun films it and slightly edits it, it could turn into us committing violence at sea."
Mei Wu also said: "Right, don't pursue a desperate foe."
"We threw quite a few stones over; they could also pick up stones and retaliate."
Lao Fu Tou laughed: "No matter what, driving Ma Weiqun's group away is victory."
Fan Dali said: "Let's go back and call the police."
Wu An nodded: "Yeah, this matter won't be settled so easily."
