Chapter 1078: Clear Position

Su Yang's heart jolted; he probably already guessed what it was.

Because Comrade Lao Fang had also talked with him before, he actually had some preparation in his heart, but for Old Zhou to say it with such a serious tone, things probably couldn't be good.

Sure enough, Old Zhou said: "You've been removed from your post this time; I can't let you stay idle for too long. Moreover, regarding your work assignment, I originally had some say in it, although you are also considered a reserve cadre, with authority mainly in the Organization Department, and even your provincial Party Committee's Organization Department might not be able to arrange it."

But with all that has happened, plus the fact that you, this kid, supposedly offended someone you shouldn't have, I want to forcibly intervene in this matter, which might give some people something to hold against you.

I originally had it all planned for you to stay directly in Jingcheng; as for your so-called political ambitions and serving the people, don't even bring those up to me—who doesn't think that way?

Ruo Han gave up her job for our little family and came back to Jingcheng; as a man, it's not impossible for you to make a small sacrifice.

Moreover, the training and growth in the Jingcheng ministries and commissions aren't as simple as you think; especially at your age, being able to work there for two years will benefit you for life.

I even plan not to have you gain experience in just one ministry; over about two years you'd go to two different units, so both your connections and experience would accumulate more richly. Most importantly, during these two years you could also witness a newborn's arrival and accompany his growth—at least you could come home every day.

But now I absolutely cannot intervene in this matter; if I don't, plus the people you've offended, you'll likely be transferred to a harsh place.

Of course, you have a doubt in your heart: you are a reserve cadre, with authority in the Organization Department, so you should originally be sent to tougher places.

Su Yang nodded repeatedly in his heart: "Exactly, Dad, wasn't it said that our batch of cadres should go wherever there are more problems or greater difficulties? Keeping me in the Jingcheng ministries and commissions wouldn't that violate the organization's principle? Or rather, it would directly strip me of my reserve cadre status?"

Old Zhou shook his head: "No, it's not like that; you did well in Lieshan Xian, which the organization approves of, so your next transfer is optional, not a hellish dungeon that gets harder each time."

"That is to say, your efforts in Lieshan Xian have earned you an opportunity; who knows what will happen after all this? Let's do this: I'll take you to see Old Fang; even if someone wants to target you, if he says a word, unless he's a top leader, it will basically work."

Just as he was saying this, Su Yang's pocket phone rang; it was a call from the Ganzhou Sheng Provincial Party Committee Organization Department. Because he had previously marked it, he didn't hang up right away but looked at Old Zhou: "Dad, it's a call from our Ganzhou Sheng Provincial Party Committee Organization Department."

Old Zhou nodded: "They really move fast; answer it."

As soon as Su Yang answered, he indeed heard an enthusiastic and polite voice from the other side: "Is this Comrade Su Yang? I'm from the Ganzhou Sheng Provincial Party Committee Organization Department. According to a decision by the Provincial Party Committee Organization Department, you are to be assigned as an exchange cadre to work in Liu Cheng Xian, Yongning City, West Mountain Province; after you report to the West Mountain Province Organization Department, they will assign your specific work there."

Su Yang's heart sank: the inevitable had come. Actually, he had preferred to go to the Southwest, where black guide incidents frequently occurred and had long gone unresolved; he especially wanted to straighten things out there and set an example for the country's tourist cities and tourism industry.

But ever since offending Young Master Wang last night, he had known things were bad; still, he thought he could at least rest for ten days or half a month, never expecting today's assignment to be settled so quickly.

Even so, he thanked the comrade from the Organization Department: "Thank you, leader; when should I report for duty? May I ask what my main responsibilities will be?"

The leader on the other side was still quite courteous: "Time is tight; you must go within three days. In principle, your work will be arranged directly by the West Mountain Province Organization Department, but I can let you know in advance that you will be responsible for political and legal work; your specific post should be Deputy Secretary of the Liu Cheng Xian County Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission."

"Congratulations, you can now be considered a true county-level leader; the Deputy Secretary is one of the top three, and with the actual authority of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission Secretary, your future is limitless."

Su Yang felt bitter: "That damned Young Master Wang, you've kicked me onto a position where several Political and Legal Affairs Commission Secretaries have died before—fine, you're ruthless."

After hanging up, he told Old Zhou what had just been said on the phone.

Old Zhou's formerly relaxed expression instantly changed: "These people really don't follow any rules; you actually achieved results in Lieshan Xian, and to some extent it's because of my involvement that you were implicated, yet there's no violation of law or discipline, and they've given you this tough bone to chew."

"Do you really think it's harder in your heart than going to Lieshan Xian? Is it more dangerous than going to Lieshan Xian?"

"I can tell you straight: going to Lieshan Xian could also arrange for you to have a Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau; at least you'd have someone you can use."

"But if you take a post in West Mountain Province, it's impossible to arrange for someone to be sent across provinces; that's unrealistic, because after all you're only a deputy county-level cadre—unless you're a bureau or department level, there might be some room to maneuver."

"But these aren't the most important; the important thing is that so-called local tyrant in Lieshan Xian, his security team and those few hundred guns—basically just used to scare ordinary people."

"Really making them fire? How many of them would actually dare to pull the trigger? So it's all for show. And a boss who just makes alcohol, even if he has some connections behind him, is ultimately just trying to make money and enjoy the life of a local tyrant."

"But do you know what kind of place Liu Cheng Xian is? It's exactly what I told you before: several previous Political and Legal Affairs Commission Secretaries and Public Security Bureau Chiefs have fallen in this position, and the newly appointed secretary and bureau chief who were parachuted in half a year ago also ran into trouble."

"The place produces coal dubbed black gold; those coal bosses look honest and simple, they do have subordinates, but day to day besides lording it over their own mines, they keep a low profile when out and about."

"Brandishing guns and sticks in public almost never happens, but when they do show their guns, someone will definitely die."

"There's a saying that shouldn't really be said, but I'll tell you anyway: in their eyes, a few human lives are nothing at all; to put it bluntly, as long as you're a coal boss, whose hands aren't stained with a few lives?"

"You say with your temperament, going to that kind of place, how could you not clash with them? And moreover, several previous Political and Legal Affairs Commission Secretaries have died mysteriously; they don't mind adding another mysterious one to the list."

"Or maybe you think you could stay as low as possible there, but that's useless—if you don't seek them out, they'll come looking for you."
