Chapter 350: Getting to Know You
Ailisi Feier returned a slightly soothing glance at her.
Gui Naifen thought for a moment, felt it was awkward to keep being guessed at, so she stopped, turned around, and candidly said to Tengwan Lixiang and Mashu, "Um… weren't you curious about who I am? My name is Gwenivere, that's my real name. You can call me Lancer or Gwenivere."
The air suddenly fell silent.
Tengwan Lixiang's curiosity and speculation on her face froze instantly.
She blinked, as if she hadn't heard clearly: "…Gwenivere? Which Gwenivere?"
Mashu also froze, her purple eyes widening slightly, and she instinctively repeated, "From Camelot… Your Highness Gwenivere? That… Your Highness?"
Gui Naifen nodded, expression natural: "Yeah, I really am from Camelot. But you really don't have to call me Your Highness or anything, it feels a bit awkward."
Tengwan Lixiang: "…………"
She opened her mouth, then closed it, her expression shifting from bewilderment to shock, finally turning into a silent scream—
(Whoa! She's Saber's wife?! Are you kidding?! This art style is way off?! )
She looked at the Flame Spear on Gui Naifen's shoulder still emitting flame, at her lavish yet street‑style outfit, and at her energetic aura…
(Does this have any resemblance at all to the queen in legend who sparked internal conflict among the Round Table knights, eventually with Lancelot… uh, in short that complex‑characterized, usually portrayed as beautiful and melancholy queen? Even a Spiritual Core mutation can't be this free‑wheeling, right? )
Mashu was clearly also hugely shocked, but her good upbringing made her quickly rein in her lapse, though the disbelief in her eyes remained evident.
She quietly tugged at Tengwan Lixiang's sleeve.
Gui Naifen looked at the two's petrified expressions and finally sensed something was off.
She scratched her head, amber eyes full of confusion: "What's wrong? Why are you both so shocked? My name… is there a problem? When Miss Ailisi Feier heard it earlier, she also seemed …"
She looked at Ailisi Feier, then at Tengwan Lixiang and Mashu.
The three women before her wore expressions each more complex than the last.
"Uh…"
Tengwan Lixiang was the first to regain composure, exchanging an unspoken glance with Ailisi Feier, and both spoke simultaneously:
"Perhaps we know …"
"We might know your …"
Their words synchronized, and both froze for a moment.
Tengwan Lixiang looked at Ailisi Feier: "Do you know Saber?"
Ailisi Feier also looked at Tengwan Lixiang: "You know … Arthur Wang? Artoria?"
Both nodded in sync again: "Hmm."
Gui Naifen: "???"
She looked at this, then at that, a bewildered expression: "What is this? Are you performing some telepathic act? Why do you speak in unison?"
"Ahem."
Tengwan Lixiang cleared his throat, and Ailisi Feier gracefully raised a hand to cover her lips.
The three women glanced at each other, suddenly feeling a subtle sensation.
Tengwan Lixiang gestured to Ailisi Feier to "step aside and talk," and she understood.
Mashu silently followed suit.
The three secretive ones turned their backs, huddled together, and began the real "whisper."
"Miss Ailisi Feier,"
Tengwan Lixiang lowered his voice, his tone still tinged with shock, "You just said you know Arthur Wang? She also took part in this Holy Grail War?"
Ailisi Feier nodded, softly saying, "Yes, she is my husband— the Servant summoned by Weigong Qiesi, Saber. Currently… whereabouts unknown."
"That's really… too coincidental."
Tengwan Lixiang sighed, then glanced at Gui Naifen nearby idly drawing circles on the ground with the tip of her Flame Spear, his expression odd, "So… does she know? About Saber being here as well? And her own … legend?"
Ailisi Feier shook her head, eyes a bit complex: "I haven't told her yet. At first it was out of caution, later… I found she seems not very aware of her own legend, or rather, her Cognition of the legend differs greatly from what we know. Bringing it up rashly, I worry it would cause unnecessary trouble or … sadness."
She paused, looking at Tengwan Lixiang and Mashu: "Since you also know Arthur Wang, you must also understand those legends. Given Your Highness Gwenivere's current condition, I think perhaps when they truly meet, letting them handle this relationship themselves would be more appropriate."
Tengwan Lixiang nodded deeply in agreement.
She had witnessed too many complex relationships among Heroic Spirits; some truly need to be faced by the parties themselves.
Mashu also lightly nodded in assent.
The three reached a consensus, turned, and faced Gui Naifen again, whose face read "what are you two muttering about?"
"Nothing, Lancer."
Ailisi Feier smiled, tone natural, "Just exchanged some views on the current situation. Shall we keep moving?"
Tengwan Lixiang also flashed a bright smile: "Yeah, Miss Gwenivere, thanks for saving us earlier! Let's hurry to investigate that Liu Dong Si!"
Mashu politely nodded: "Please continue leading the way, Miss Gwenivere."
Gui Naifen watched the three instantly return to normal, even more enthusiastic, feeling a bit baffled, but her nature is optimistic and she doesn't like to nitpick.
"Alright, alright, mysterious one…"
She muttered, lifted the Flame Spear again, turned and kept leading, "Then let's go! Destination Liu Dong Si!"
An orange ponytail bounced along the dim street, the Flame Spear's glow lighting the path ahead.
Behind them, the three women who knew the "truth" exchanged a meaningful glance.
(When Your Highness Gwenivere meets Arthur Wang… )
(That scene will surely… be very interesting.)
A Xing opened his eyes on a park bench as dawn barely lightened the sky.
Morning mist lingered, the air was crisp, and tiny droplets clung to the bench's wooden slats.
The spot beside him was now empty.
YinZhi was gone.
That red‑haired knight probably slipped away while the sky was still dark, continuing his wanderings in search of "pure beauty," without even a goodbye — but that fits YinZhi's style, and A Xing wasn't surprised.
She sat up, her ash‑gray hair a little disheveled, golden eyes scanning the empty park.
Then her gaze fixed a few meters away.
A scruffy mutt lifted a hind leg, aiming at the leg of the bench she was on, ready to perform its daily morning marking.
A Xing squinted.
The dog seemed to sense some invisible pressure, paused, then slowly turned its head, its canine eyes meeting A Xing's unremarkable golden eyes.
In an instant, a hint of highly human‑like… scrutiny flashed in the dog's eyes?
Even a sort of indescribable… sarcasm.
As if saying, "Hey, awake? Borrowing your turf for a bit, got a problem?"
A Xing could never tolerate that.
