Chapter 47: Meeting
Heimu frowned slightly at seeing Bai Hang's tense, all‑limb posture.
"Put the Eye Mask on."
She reminded, referring to the special equipment given to Bai Hang during the night raid on the train.
"Oh, right!"
Bai Hang quickly fished the black Eye Mask from a small pocket and deftly put it on.
Strangely, after covering her eyes, a calm and mysterious aura naturally emerged.
Heimu examined her, nodded, but seemed to think something was still missing.
She stood up and walked slowly to Bai Hang's side.
The closing distance made Bai Hang unconsciously hold her breath; she could smell the cold aura on her master.
Bai Hang unconsciously held her breath, watching her master's overly delicate face approach; the violet‑black eyes, like deep space, reflected her own bewildered expression.
Heimu lifted the slender hand wearing black lace gloves, the fingertips surrounded by a faint violet‑red Data Stream Light, and lightly brushed Bai Hang's shoulder.
In an instant, the Data Stream Light, like a living thread, wound around Bai Hang's body.
The originally simple, mobile attire began changing at a visible speed—its color shifting to deep abyssal black, the material becoming more crisp yet flowing, the cut blending Xianzhou's traditional wide‑sleeved cloud‑like design with sleek modern styling, and the hem embroidered with dark‑purple flowing patterns, like night itself.
The overall style still retained Xianzhou's hallmark, yet the dominant black tone and dark‑purple details oddly echoed Black Curtain Lady's own attire.
The transformation proceeded silently and was completed in an instant.
Bai Hang, a bit stunned, lowered her head to gaze at her newly refreshed outfit, brushed the icy fabric of the hem, feeling… novel, and as if a power were attached to it.
Heimu stepped back half a pace, scrutinizing the "work."
The black Xianzhou garb highlighted her snow‑white long hair and Fox Ears even more; the Eye Mask's mystery blended perfectly with the attire's elegant solemnity, and standing there she resembled a secret envoy emerging from darkness, with unparalleled aura.
"Very good," Heimu said with a satisfied nod, casually drawing a line in the air; a doorway edged with flickering Data Stream Light opened silently, behind which swirled twisted star‑sky colors.
"Go, retrieve the item and return immediately," Heimu ordered.
Bai Hang inhaled deeply, suppressed her anxiety, adjusted the Eye Mask's position, and stepped into the portal.
In a flash of light, her figure and the doorway vanished together inside the carriage.
After sending Bai Hang away, Heimu paced to the Observation Window.
Outside the window was the platform of the Black Tower Space Station.
The Star Sea Train rested here quietly.
On the platform, the departing crowd was faintly visible.
The imposing Black Tower crossed his arms, listening impatiently to what Station Chief Aisida was saying; the pink‑haired station chief lady wore a proper smile and gave careful reminders;
Star Station stood there, the conspicuous large pack on her head making her look somewhat comical, as she said final goodbyes with San Yue Qi, Walter and others.
Heimu's gaze drifted lightly over the crowd, lingering a moment on a corner—there, Dan Heng crossed his arms, standing quietly in the shadows like a silent guardian, his aura so restrained it almost merged with the surroundings.
"(That's why I sent you, Bai Hang.)"
Heimu whispered in his mind.
Until now, she had, consciously or not, kept Bai Hang away from any information related to Dan Heng.
As for the reason, it's not the time yet.
Soon, the farewells ended, and Train Group members boarded one after another.
On the platform, Black Tower seemed to yawn, turned and left, while Aisida kept waving until the train doors closed.
Heimu withdrew his gaze, returned to the sofa, crossed his legs, and his violet‑black eyes half‑closed, as if dozing or calculating something.
The Star Core was about to be in hand, and the plan advanced another step.
But the road ahead remained shrouded in fog.
Kakamo's threat loomed like a Damocles sword, the Golden Descendant's liberation had only just begun, and the "cooperation" with the Star Core Hunter was fraught with uncertainty…
A slight vibration came, a sign of the train's departure.
Inside the carriage, Pam's energetic announcement broadcast throughout the train rang out: "Jump transition initiating Pa! All passengers, please sit tight and hold on Pa!"
Immediately after, a strange sense of weightlessness and spatial distortion enveloped the entire carriage, including the "secret" sections where Heimu was.
That was the jump process traversing the Star Sea.
For ordinary lives, this might be a lengthy journey, but for the Star Sea Train and beings like Heimu, it was almost an instant.
Heimu opened his eyes and looked out the Observation Window.
What was moments ago the deep‑space and Space Station's metallic structure had now transformed completely.
A massive planet blanketed in bright ice floated silently outside the window, its white ice fields interlaced with dark ravines, like a frozen silent giant.
Yaliluo-VI, arrived.
When Bai Hang stepped out of the portal, the ground beneath her was no longer the familiar feel, but a hardness characteristic of a barren planetary surface.
The night wind, carrying a faint chill and dusty scent of the unknown region, brushed past, causing the Eye Mask‑covered face to twitch slightly.
This place resembled an abandoned industrial platform, its massive metal structures standing silently in the night like the skeletons of ancient beasts.
In the distance, two moons of unequal size hung in the sky, casting a cold eerie glow that bathed everything in blue‑gray tones.
Two silhouettes had long been waiting here.
"(So this is… those two? … Their aura is indeed extraordinary.)"
Bai Hang inhaled deeply, striving to suppress her inner tension.
She warned herself that, at this moment, she represented Black Curtain Lady and must not show fear.
Snow‑white long hair cascaded, stark against the dark dress.
She gracefully folded her hands before her, silently waiting for the other to speak first.
Must stay steady; at least… the demeanor must be fully maintained.
"Oh?"
Kafuka was the first to break the silence, her gaze scanning Bai Hang with interest, finally fixing on the eyes hidden behind the Eye Mask, "You sent a messenger so… refined. Your master, who likes to stay behind the scenes, doesn't seem eager to appear in person, does he?"
Silver Wolf "Puff" burst the Bubbles gum in his mouth, producing a crisp sound, and bluntly taunted: "Exactly, such a big ego! The thing we finally 'got'—the rightful owner doesn't even come to inspect it?"
She tilted her head, appraising Bai Hang, her eyes full of scrutiny, "Still wearing an Eye Mask, all mysterious…"
Bai Hang remained silent, offering no reply.
She kept Heimu's instruction in mind—speak less, observe more, and just complete the transaction.
(That little girl speaks so bluntly… but when she says "the rightful owner," does she mean the lady? The lady certainly wouldn't appear lightly.)
Kafuka let out a light laugh, seeming unfazed by Bai Hang's silence.
She stepped forward, her gaze sweeping over Bai Hang's Fox Ears, snow‑white hair, and attire.
In the depths of her gaze, a flash of rapid thought flickered.
