Chapter 492: Run!!
Yan Feng stood amid a wreck, looking at the Giant Monkey, looking at the Monkeys covering the ground, looking at the shop ruined into a mess.
His face still showed no expression.
But his voice, Calm, rang out:
"Kill them all."
Sha Jin laughed.
That smile carried genuine excitement.
"Interesting."
He turned his head, looked at the Giant Monkey, and the weight in his hand began to spin.
Perspective shift.
Back to the present.
San Yue Qi hugged Lin and ran for a full twenty minutes.
She didn't know how far she had run, only that the buildings around grew sparser, the streets narrower, and finally they burst into an old district that looked abandoned for a long time.
"Hoo… Hoo… Hoo…"
San Yue Qi finally stopped, put Lin down, and leaned against the wall, panting heavily.
As an Assassin Servant, her stamina was still decent, but carrying a person and running this long was indeed tiring.
She set Lin down, supporting her knees, panting heavily.
Lin stood on the ground, her legs went weak, and she squatted down directly.
"Lin? What's wrong?" San Yue Qi hurriedly asked.
Lin lifted her head, her face pale, lips trembling.
"San Yue Jie… I… I'm hungry…"
San Yue Qi was startled for a moment.
Right, Lin hadn't really eaten anything today.
That bowl of noodles was barely touched, and after all that had happened, the consumption was huge; it's no wonder she's hungry.
"How about…" Lin gritted her teeth, struggling to stand, "we go find something to eat. If it really doesn't work, even those terrible things in the supermarket… also… okay…"
She said, walking toward a convenience store on the side.
San Yue Qi hurriedly followed.
Lin reached the convenience store entrance, took a deep breath, and pushed the door open.
Then she stopped in her tracks.
San Yue Qi didn't notice and collided directly with her back.
"Ouch! Lin, what are you—"
She looked up.
Then her words got stuck in her throat.
Inside the convenience store, it was packed, all Monkeys.
Monkeys crouched on the shelves, Monkeys lying on the checkout counter, Monkeys sitting on the floor, Monkeys hanging from the ceiling.
Each one stared with wide eyes, a banana tuft standing straight on its head.
Hearing the noise at the door, they all turned their heads in unison—
Hundreds of sleek black eyes simultaneously looked toward the doorway.
In the dim light, they reflected a strange glow.
San Yue Qi: "......"
Lin: "......"
Human and Monkey, separated by the half‑open door, stared at each other for a full three seconds.
Then—
"Run—!!!"
The two turned and ran!
Behind them, hundreds of Monkeys simultaneously let out a wild "Jiaojiao Jiaojiao Jiaojiao Jiaojiao Jiaojiao" scream, surging out of the convenience store like a tide, crazily chasing after them!
"Jiaojiao Jiaojiao Jiaojiao Jiaojiao Jiaojiao—!!!"
That cry was deafening, the dense footfalls sounded like drums!
San Yue Qi and Lin sprinted down the street!
Lin's legs had already begun to give out, but she dared not stop!
The terrifying cries behind grew nearer and nearer!
"Why are there so many!!!" Lin shouted while running.
"How would I know!!!" San Yue Qi also shouted.
The two turned another corner, then another, ran through one street, then another!
Finally—
Lin truly could not run any longer.
She slowed her steps, bent over, hands on her knees, panting heavily.
Sweat dripped down her cheeks, the clothes on her back were completely soaked, her whole body shivered.
"No… I can't… I… I really… can't run any more…"
San Yue Qi quickly supported her, turned to look behind.
That group of Monkeys also stopped.
They all crouched together about a dozen meters away, hundreds of eyes staring at them in unison, their mouths emitting a "Jiaojiao" sound, but they did not chase any further.
Lin gasped for a while, finally catching a breath.
Then she lifted her head, looked at the monkeys, and an unnamed fire surged up with a "teng"!
She pointed at the monkeys and shouted angrily:
"You filthy monkeys! What are you chasing! I'm not running anymore, okay! Kill me, maim me, whatever you want! Anyway, I'm already unlucky enough today! Dragged into some bizarre world for no reason! Played by that bastard Yan Feng! Ambushed by some unknown damn thing! Can't even finish a bowl of noodles! And now I'm being chased all over the street by a bunch of monkeys!!!"
The voice grew louder and more agitated:
"I am a member of the Yuanban Family! I am destined to become a great Magus! How could I be chased by a bunch of monkeys like this!!"
She caught her breath and kept shouting:
"Come on! Can't you throw bananas?! Throw them! Today I'll fight you! Let you see the power of Yuanban Family Gem Magic!"
She said this while pulling the few remaining gems from her pocket, gripping them in her hand, aiming at the monkeys.
San Yue Qi, stirred by her aura, straightened up, nocked an arrow to her bow:
"That's right! They're just a bunch of monkeys! I am the Nameless Guest of the Starry Sky Train! I've seen every great storm and wave! Come on!!!"
The two stood side by side, their fierce aura fixed on the monkeys.
The monkeys were stunned by their aura, frozen in place, their "Jiaojiao" cries much quieter.
Then the Monkey Horde slowly split to both sides.
A massive silhouette emerged from behind the horde.
It was a gorilla over three meters tall.
No, a monkey—a supersized monkey.
It was covered in thick muscles, limbs as stout as tree trunks; each step shook the ground three times.
On its face remained that goofy expression, eyes bulging, and a banana‑like tuft on its head—about half a meter long.
It walked to the front of the horde, lowered its head, and stared down at the two tiny figures before it.
Then it opened its mouth:
"Jia?"
San Yue Qi and Lin looked up, gazing at the "Meat Mountain", and fell silent.
Three seconds later.
San Yue Qi lowered her bow, turned, and scooped Lin up in one arm.
"Run—!!!"
She reactivated Time Stop mode; though it can't be used consecutively, escaping was urgent!
"Cafeteria Spicy Sauce!!!"
Time Stop!
San Yue Qi, cradling Lin, began another frantic sprint!
Time Resume!
Behind them, the Giant Monkey let out an earth‑shaking "Jia—!!!"
Then hundreds of monkeys plus the Giant Monkey surged forward like a yellow flood, chasing again!
San Yue Qi, holding Lin, ran out of breath.
Lin clutched her neck, hanging in the air, glanced back at the closing monkeys, and couldn't help wailing:
"Why is it so big—!!!"
"How would I know—!!!"
"We won't get eaten, right—!!!"
"Won't—!!! Probably—!!!"
"I don't want to be eaten by monkeys—!!!"
"I don't want to either—!!!"
Their screams intertwined with the "Jiaojiao Jiaojiao" monkey cries behind them, echoing across the empty street.
