Chapter 511: Home Invasion
Sha Jin's mouth corner curved even deeper.
Interesting.
He was about to start a few sentences—
"Zawa Rudo—!!!"
Time Stop.
Sha Jin's expression froze on his face, and that weight hovered in midair.
San Yue Qi said nothing and turned to run!
(Messenger! That's a Guardian Order Messenger!)
(Run, run, run—!!!)
She fled wildly during the stopped time, dashing into alleys, leaping over rooftops, pushing her speed to the limit!
Seven seconds was enough for her to run several hundred meters.
Time Resume.
Sha Jin blinked, looking at the empty street before him.
"......?"
He looked around; indeed, no one was there.
He closed his eyes again to sense—nothing, as if that person had never existed.
Sha Jin opened his eyes, his mouth corner lifting slightly.
"Interesting."
He didn't know why San Yue Qi ran—he only wanted to chat a bit, to extract some information.
But in San Yue Qi's cognition, a Guardian Order Messenger appearing before her meant that not running was the sign of a messed‑up mind.
San Yue Qi was at this moment fleeing wildly several buildings away!
(Messenger! It really is a Messenger!)
(What the heck is the spec of this broken Holy Grail War!)
(That golden giant before was already absurd enough, and now a Guardian Order Messenger shows up! I'm just an ordinary little Assassin, why must I face all this!)
She took several deep breaths, trying to calm herself.
(Yan Feng Qili and that weight guy... are they in the same group? Or just a coincidence?)
(If it's a coincidence, then why would Yan Feng attack me? Does he even know about the Rewind?)
(If they're colluding... that would be even more troublesome.)
San Yue Qi lowered her head to glance at the bag in her hand—thankfully, the items were still there, not lost.
(First go back; Lin's side still doesn't know if it's safe.)
She clenched the bag and sprinted toward Lin's Residence.
—
Meanwhile, outside Lin's Residence.
Yan Feng Qili stood by the wall of that house, silently watching the second‑floor window.
Beside him, golden light coalesced, and Sha Jin's figure materialized from the void.
He nudged the sunglasses on his nose and looked at his Master:
"Master, can you tell me why?"
Yan Feng gave no reply.
He simply stepped forward in silence, heading toward the house.
Sha Jin shrugged and followed.
—
Lin was at this moment on the second floor.
She had just changed clothes—a red jacket, a black skirt, twin ponytails tied impeccably—ready to go downstairs and wait for San Yue Qi to return.
Suddenly, she halted.
Knocking?
Lin pressed her ear to listen.
"Dong dong dong."
It was indeed a knocking sound, coming from the main door downstairs.
Lin was about to go downstairs to open the door when her steps suddenly stopped.
(Wrong.)
(San Yue Jie has a key, Ying also has a key. This house hasn't been lived in for ages; no one could be at the door.)
(And San Yue Jie just warned me that Yan Feng Qili had returned...)
Lin's alertness spiked instantly!
She fished out several gems from a drawer, held them in her palm, moved silently to the stairwell, crouched, and, using the gap in the stair rail, stared at the door below.
"Dong dong dong."
The knocking sounded a few more times, then stopped.
Outside was silent.
Lin held her breath, staying perfectly still.
Time passed second by second.
Too quiet.
It was so quiet it made one's heart feel a chill.
Lin slowly stood up, the palm holding the gem already sweating. She pressed against the wall, inching her steps downward—
Squeak—
The staircase emitted an extremely faint sound under her foot.
Lin froze in place, perking up her ears to listen for sounds below.
There was no sound at all.
(Did they leave?)
She kept going down, step by step, finally reaching the first floor.
The living room was empty, sunlight streaming through the curtain gaps, stretching the furniture's shadows long.
The main door was tightly shut, with no sign of anything unusual.
Lin exhaled, just as she was about to turn—
A Black Shadow darted out from the corner behind her!
Lin's peripheral vision caught that flash of black, and her body instinctively crouched down!
Whoosh—!
A Black Key brushed her scalp as it flew by, embedding into the staircase railing, the whole blade sinking into the wood!
Lin rolled once on the ground, then thrust her head up sharply—
Yan Feng Qili stood three meters in front of her, holding two other Black Keys, staring at her expressionlessly.
Those eyes, lacking any divine spark, now resembled two bottomless dry wells.
Yan Feng—Qili—!!!
Lin's voice trembled with uncontainable Rage!
She didn't hesitate, raised her hand, and hurled three gems at once!
Boom!
The gems exploded midair, Flame and smoke instantly filling the entire living room!
Lin seized the chance to retreat, trying to create distance!
But within the smoke, a Black Shadow surged out like a phantom!
Black Key sweeps!
Lin flailed to the side, dodging the strike, yet her arm still received a slash.
Fresh blood seeped out, staining her sleeve red.
"You madman!" Lin gritted her teeth and threw another gem!
Cold air instantly spread!
Yan Feng's steps faltered slightly, a thin layer of frost forming on his black priest robe.
But the next second, he shattered the frost and lunged again!
Eight Extremes Fist!
That fierce fist technique had no flourish, only pure killing intent!
A punch flew out, and the air itself crackled with a blast!
Lin couldn't dodge, and could only use her arm for Blocking—
Bang!
She was blasted away, slammed into the sofa, then rolled onto the floor!
Her whole body ached.
Her arm went numb, the cut on her leg bled, and a lump formed on her forehead from the impact.
Lin gasped heavily, braced against the ground to stand, but her leg gave way and she fell to her knees again.
(Damn... skipped breakfast... stamina can't keep up...)
She clenched her teeth, staring at the figure slowly approaching.
Yan Feng Qili stood before her, looking down from above. The Black Key in his hand glowed with a cold light.
Lin's mind raced.
(Can't brute-force... this guy's melee is too strong... must find a way to create distance... or use the terrain...)
(Second floor!)
(Lure him to the second floor! There are many rooms there, we can maneuver!)
She hurled two gems fiercely!
Boom!
Amid the explosions, Lin summoned her last strength and rushed toward the stairs!
She took three steps as two, sprinted to the second floor, slipped into the first room, and slammed the door with a Bang!
Footsteps came from outside.
Lin leaned against the door, breathing heavily.
(San Yue Jie... when will you return...)
—
On the street outside.
San Yue Qi was sprinting wildly.
The unease in her heart grew stronger, so strong that she wanted to shout "madeinheaven" again to accelerate forward.
Just as she was about to turn onto the street where Lin was trapped—
A lone figure blocked the center of the road.
Sha Jin.
They stood there, smiling, watching San Yue Qi, like a cat that has blocked a mouse hole.
San Yue Qi's steps suddenly stopped!
(It's over!)
