Chapter 547: Unable to Resist?

~7 min read 1,216 words

Her hand gently stroked Robin's waist, the gesture ambiguous and provocative.

Robin's face flushed so red it could bleed, tears swirling in the eye sockets.

Ilya's hand trembled.

Ailixiya continued speaking, her tone laced with condescending mockery:

"You want to save her? What will you use to save her? With that little skill, you can't even touch me?"

"How regrettable."

Ailixiya looked at Ilya, a mocking curve lifting her mouth, "You claim to want to protect her, yet she is now in my hand, in my arms, in a place I can touch at will?"

She raised her other hand, green specks of light coalescing at her fingertips, then lightly brushed Robin's cheek.

Robin's body shivered again.

"What a pity~ Such a beautiful big sister can only be trapped in my hand, unable to resist even if she tries?"

She leaned close to Robin's ear and whispered:

"Your little sister seems unable to protect you?"

"All you can do is watch your face redden, watch you unable to fight back, watch me touch wherever I please?"

Her hand slid to Robin's Lockbone, paused there, and the fingertips gently caressed.

Robin closed his eyes, refusing to look at her.

But those flushed ears had already betrayed everything.

"And she can do nothing."

Ailixiya's voice grew softer and gentler, as if humming a lullaby, "She can only be like a useless little sister, crying outside."

Ilya watched, the string in her mind snapping completely.

"Aaaaaaa—!!!"

She rushed out!

Magic bolts poured out like they didn't cost a thing!

The ruby staff's shaft began to heat up, the magic output reaching its limit!

Ailixiya laughed as she stepped back, the tentacles dragging Robin through the barrage of bolts.

"Come on, come on~ Can't hit, can't hit?"

Ilya chased her attacks, leaping from midair to the ground, then from the ground to the edge of the woods.

But those magic bolts always fell just short.

Until—

Ailixiya's figure suddenly vanished into the darkness.

Together with Robin.

Ilya chased up to that darkness and halted.

There was nothing left.

Only the lingering Magic Wave in the air proved that everything just now wasn't a dream.

"Zhigengniao Jiejie..."

Ilya's voice trembled.

No one responded.

She slowly crouched and placed the ruby on the ground.

Then she collapsed there, her gaze hollow as she stared at the cratered holes.

The tears in her eye sockets finally fell.

"Zhigengniao Jiejie..."

Her voice was as tiny as a mosquito's hum.

Afternoon sunlight poured down, bathing her, stretching her shadow long.

Perspective shift.

Heimu leaned on the soft sofa, holding a freshly brewed cup of black tea, eyes fixed on the massive floating screen before him.

The screen was split into a dozen small windows, each streaming the Plot of different corners of Dongmu City in real time.

In the top‑right window, Ilya slumped on the ground, her tiny figure curled up, shoulders trembling slightly.

Those red eyes stared vacantly ahead, tears silently sliding down, leaving two wet streaks on her cheeks.

Heimu's mouth twitched.

"Uh..."

She set down the teacup and brushed her chin.

"Is this move... a bit too ruthless?"

On the screen, Ilya's appearance was truly pitiful.

The Despair of losing someone important, the helpless frustration, were all written on that youthful face.

Heimu was silent for two seconds.

She raised her hand and touched her chest.

"... Conscience, I still have that?"

Then her mouth couldn't help but curve upward.

"But... it's kind of thrilling, huh."

She propped her cheek, admiring the crying little figure on the screen, a flicker of satisfaction flashing in her violet‑black eyes.

"Enough, enough, keep controlling the scene."

She reached out and tapped the screen, switching to another view—

In the hotel room, Ailixiya stood in the middle of the living area, before her a Robin wrapped in layers of black tubing.

Heimu nodded with satisfaction, then placed a hand on the Virtual Keyboard and began to operate.

Camera angle shifts.

Ilya slumped on the floor, as if her soul had been pulled out.

Those red eyes stared vacantly, tears still streaming down, yet she seemed no longer to feel them.

Her lips moved slightly, emitting some indistinct sounds:

"Robin sister… Robin sister…"

A ruby hovered beside her, the staff's iridescent glow flickering gently.

"Ilya… Ilya, are you okay?"

No response.

"Ilya?"

Still no response.

The ruby grew urgent, the staff tip pressed to her face and shook forcefully.

"Ilya—!!!"

Ilya's pupils shifted, finally focusing.

"Red… ruby…"

"Yes, yes! It's me! You still recognize me!"

Ilya's tears surged again.

"Robin sister… she was taken by that bad woman… what will happen to her… what will that bad woman do to her…"

The ruby was silent for a second.

Then it spoke, its tone unusually serious:

"Ilya, have you forgotten you are a Master?"

Ilya was startled for a moment.

"Master?"

"Right! You have a Command Spell!"

The ruby shook, "Just use the Command Spell to summon the Robin back, right?"

Ilya's eyes lit up!

Right!

Command Spell!

She raised her hand, gazing at the three bright red markings on the back of it, inhaled deeply, and focused her mind—

"In the name of the Command Spell… Robin sister, return to my side…!"

Mana surged, the Command Spell glimmered faintly.

One second.

Nothing happened.

Ilya was stunned.

She tried again.

Still no response.

"How… how could…?"

The ruby was also stunned: "It shouldn't… the Command Spell is an absolute order, it should—"

Before it finished speaking, Ilya already felt that sluggish sensation.

It was as if something lay in between, blocking the Command Spell's power.

She could sense the Robin's presence, could feel she was in a certain direction, but that force wouldn't pass, unable to pull her back.

The light in Ilya's eyes dimmed again.

She slumped back down, her gaze once more vacant.

"Useless… useless…"

In her mind, various terrifying images began to surface—

That purple‑haired woman, how would she treat Robin sister?

She would…

She would…

Ilya suddenly recalled a manga she had inadvertently found in Sera's room last year.

The manga's cover was strange, and its contents even more so… after reading it she couldn't sleep well for three whole days.

Those bound girls, those evil smiles, those…

Now, those images automatically shifted to the Robin's face.

Ilya's tears streamed more fiercely, pouring straight from her sockets, carving two wide, sea‑weed‑thick tracks across her face.

The ruby, watching her, couldn't help but comment:

"Ilya… your tear volume is way exaggerated… and what on earth are you thinking? Why is your expression getting more and more terrifying?"

Ilya sobbed, unable to speak.

The ruby sighed.

"Fine, fine, then how about using the Command Spell to sense her location?"

Ilya froze for a moment.

Right.

She closed her eyes and concentrated again.

This time, not summoning, but sensing.

That lingering heaviness still remained, but faintly, she could indeed feel—

that direction.

Zhigengniao Jiejie, in that direction.

Ilya snapped her eyes open!

The red eyes reignited with light!

"I can feel it! Ruby! I can feel where Zhigengniao Jiejie is!"

The ruby let out a sigh, and the staff's glow brightened a few degrees:

"Great! Then let's go quickly!"

Ilya braced herself on the ground, stood up, and brushed the mud off her skirt.

At that moment—

"Boom—!!!"
