Chapter 795: Should Know

~7 min read 1,212 words

Heimu looked at the holographic map, and the first thought that sprang to mind was: Mei Bi Wu Si's mental condition was a bit bad.

Then she cut into Xi Lian's neural communication channel on the panel.

This channel was opened by Heimu earlier for convenient contact with Xi Lian, independent of Past World Paradise's local system, and should still be usable.

"Xi Lian, what's the situation now?"

Xi Lian's voice came through the channel.

The voice was wavering, with a distinct bewilderment and a hint of trembling: "Black Curtain Lady? I—I'm not sure. I can't see anything; everything before me is dark. I seem to be in a... relatively warm place? My body can't move."

After hearing that, Heimu already pieced the scene together in their mind.

Warmth, darkness, immobility, high-speed movement, the sound of snake scales.

Mei Bi Wu Si wrapped Xi Lian with a snake Tail!

"The one binding you should be Mei Bi Wu Si,"

Heimu said into the channel, trying to keep the tone as steady as possible, "You should recognize them."

The other end was silent for less than a second.

Then Heimu heard a faint swallow; Xi Lian swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

When her voice rose again, it carried a slight tremor.

Heimu could even hear her breath hitch at that moment, as if something invisible had clamped her throat.

"Mei... Wu Si..."

Xi Lian's voice was so light it was almost inaudible.

She, of course, remembered Mei Bi Wu Si.

The first time she came to Past World Paradise, she was bound by Mei Bi Wu Si after only a few steps.

When she regained consciousness, she was already lying on the laboratory operating table, limbs restrained by straps, and a cold white shadowless lamp overhead.

Mei Bi Wu Si stood beside her, holding a syringe, its needle glinting an extremely fine, cold silver light under the lamp.

Xi Lian remembered that scene vividly: the cold white light of the shadowless lamp, the icy, hard feel of the stainless-steel edge of the operating table, the red marks the straps left on her wrists, and Mei Bi Wu Si's eyes looking down at her.

Then Ailixiya directly blew the whole door off from outside, and pink light crashed in like a wall.

After that, Xi Lian never again approached Mei Bi Wu Si's laboratory alone.

But now she has returned to Past Pleasant Land, is alone again, and has been caught by Mei Bi Wu Si.

Heimu heard Xi Lian's breathing rate clearly quicken on the other end.

"Black Curtain Lady,"

Xi Lian's voice was pressed down to a whisper, as if fearing someone might hear, "What should I do?"

Heimu rubbed their temples.

Gray-white long hair slipped down from the shoulders, covering half of the face.

Their current permissions are insufficient to directly pinpoint Mei Bi Wu Si's exact location; the map is shrouded in fog.

Although Xi Lian's light point shows a trail, that trail is clearly being dragged by Mei Bi Wu Si at high speed, and the chance of catching up is low.

Forced remote intervention is possible, but that would require overwriting part of Past World Paradise's local data with her own permissions, causing irreversible damage.

Past World Paradise's data architecture is extremely intricate; the consciousness backups, Memory storage, and destiny simulation data of the Ying Jie, once damaged, would cost so much to repair that it would make her cringe.

"There's no way to get you out immediately for now,"

Heimu said into the channel, voice still steady, "First, observe quietly. Look for a chance to act."

The other end fell silent for a moment.

Then Xi Lian's voice rose again, a bit steadier than before, though still carrying a trace of tremor.

"Mei Bi Wu Si... actually isn't bad," Xi Lian whispered, "She's just a bit... in some aspects... relatively crazy."

Heimu's mouth twitched slightly.

"Don't worry,"

she replied briefly, "I've been watching your feed. If something goes wrong—"

she didn't finish the latter half.

The unfinished part would have been that she would forcibly use her permissions.

In that case, the damage to Past World Paradise's data would be irreversible, but by then there'd be little she could control.

She could only hope in her heart that Mei Bi Wu Si would be a little lenient.

Heimu lowered their head to look at the panel.

Within the screen-full of black mist, the pink light point representing Xi Lian continued moving at high speed.

The light point just made an absurdly sharp turn, its return direction exactly opposite the incoming direction, then suddenly began circling in place, spun several rounds before abruptly stopping, paused a few seconds, then resumed darting wildly at an even faster speed.

That light point's trajectory had fully entered a manic mode.

Heimu stared at it for a long time, finding it hard to look away.

Perspective shift.

Within those flesh-wall incisions cut by the light net, there was an ultra-thin line.

That line was not a thread, nor a branch, nor any visible form; it was a flowing trace extending from the monster's back, passing through layer upon layer of flesh wall, reaching toward some direction outside.

Qingque's Taixu Sword Heart, the instant it captured that line, rang a crisp bell in her mind—a breakthrough she had been seeking!

The monster was sharing Shuhuo's core energy.

It had a continuous transport conduit to the giant tree outside.

That conduit was extremely concealed, hidden within the layered flesh walls.

But when her light net sliced the flesh wall earlier, the conduit was briefly exposed.

If she could sever that conduit, even temporarily, the monster's regenerative ability would be greatly reduced.

But she needs more Bubbles.

She needs the Bubbles ocean outside.

The Light Net can only buy her time; it cannot help her win.

To cut off this channel, she must concentrate enough power, turning the fight between her and the core monster into a duel rather than a wheel battle between her and the entire Shuhuo system.

Qingque withdrew the Light Net.

The light beams reconvened around her, coalescing again into thousands of jade plaques floating at her side; the fish on the plaques were still swimming, but the glow was noticeably dimmer than before.

This move drained a large portion of her reserves.

Qingque could feel the Patrol Hunt power within her had fallen from its peak to mid‑mountain level; the Taixu Sword Heart was still running, but its load had reached the critical point, and adding more could cause overload.

But she cannot stop.

She needs to break through the outside obstruction, letting the Bubbles ocean surge in.

The monster clearly sensed her intent; it readjusted the distribution of the threads, concentrating the vast majority of defensive force toward the crack above.

The threads severed by the Light Net regrew from the flesh‑wall eyes, denser and thicker than before, layering into a wall that isolated the crack from her.

It even spared no extra energy, pulling out several unusually thick branches from its back and planting them beneath the crack; the blossoms at the ends of the branches fully opened, eyes wide, forming a living tracking defense line.

Qingque looked at that wall, and a sentence sprang to mind.

"Interesting."
