Chapter 822: Ge Lei Xiu: Light Sword, So Handy!

~7 min read 1,382 words

Then it grabbed!

The purple‑black pattern on the right arm simultaneously erupted with the strongest light.

The ice‑blue behemoth was violently pulled up from the seabed.

The seawater exploded.

A circular shockwave spread outward from the seabed in all directions, flipping several nearby white cubes over.

The blue giant shadow writhed violently on the sea surface; the spot where it was struck sank a large chunk, and a deep‑blue glow spewed from the wound, tinting the surrounding water with an exquisitely beautiful blue‑purple gradient.

The beast's full form was revealed in the air for the first time.

Its entire body was ice‑blue, unnaturally slender, stretching over twelve hundred meters from head to tail.

Its body was covered by a transparent film, beneath which a dense network of fine blue patterns drifted slowly in the air.

The head was spindle‑shaped, lacking obvious eyes or mouth, with only a horizontal slit from which a faint blue mist seeped outward.

The Creation Engine seized its tail tip, and the whole body twisted wildly in midair, each twist generating gusts strong enough to overturn buildings.

At that moment the horizontal slit suddenly widened, expanding outward from the center toward the top and bottom, revealing concentric layers of blue luminous tissue; the light was so bright it was impossible to look at directly.

It's charging up!

The Creation Engine gave it no chance to complete the charge.

The right arm yanked down hard, pulling the entire beast back from midair to the sea surface, slamming it into the water.

Before the splash settled, the left fist followed, striking solidly at the spindle‑shaped tip of the beast's head.

One punch.

Two punches.

On the third punch the beast's body was knocked up from the sea, flipping more than half a turn in the air.

The clash between the steel giant and the ice‑blue beast churned the entire sea into a boiling milky vortex.

On a white cube far out at sea, Ying stood at its edge, the Foot‑long dagger held horizontally before her.

Her breathing had shifted to combat readiness, and her Fox Ears turned gently with every subtle movement on the surrounding sea.

The battle at the Creation Engine continued, each collision between the steel giant and the blue giant shadow raising waves capable of drowning a small town, but those were not what she needed to focus on now.

Her instinct warned her: something else was approaching.

Ying spun sharply, the Foot‑long dagger slashing diagonally.

A green giant python that had burst from the water below the cube's edge was sliced in half by a pink blade, the two halves flying outward and immediately disintegrating into green data fragments in midair.

Exactly the same as the snake encountered earlier in the tunnel area.

She withdrew the dagger and turned, her gray‑purple eyes scanning the surrounding sea swiftly.

Then she saw!

More shadows rose on the sea surface!

Various sizes and lengths, all serpentine.

Some were as thin as a finger, others thick enough to swallow an adult, all composed of semi‑transparent bodies made of dark‑green data.

They swarmed toward the white cube from all directions, their underwater trails intertwining densely like a green fishing net being drawn together.

"Ge Lei Xiu, stay behind me,"

Ying lowered her voice, her tone the calm of an assassin, "Do your best—"

A calm voice came from behind her.

"Sister Ying."

Ying did not look back.

Several snakes sprang up from beneath the sea simultaneously; she swung three consecutive strikes in a flash, all three landing, and green data fragments fluttered down before her.

"Wait a moment," she said, "I'll handle this side first—"

"Sister Ying,"

Ge Lei Xiu's voice sounded again, still calm and gentle, as if discussing color palettes for a painting, "Look."

Ying slashed a snake that had ambushed from the left, glancing back with the corner of her eye.

That near miss almost caused her Foot‑long dagger to slip from her hand.

Ge Lei Xiu had already stood up.

Ice‑blue hair fluttered lightly in the sea breeze, and a golden hair ornament swayed gently among the strands.

She stood on the ground, her feet wrapped in white silk and pressed together, toes lightly touching.

Her expression remained naturally calm, but she now held something in her hand.

It was a metal cylinder, about the length from fingertip to elbow, its surface silver‑gray metal, each end fitted with a black grip guard, and a row of tiny blue indicator lights in the middle flashing in a regular pattern.

Ying froze for a moment.

"What is this…?"

Ge Lei Xiu lowered her head, glanced at the metal cylinder, and pressed a side button with her thumb.

A blue beam shot out violently from the cylinder's tip, its length just surpassing Ge Lei Xiu's half‑body.

The beam was pure blue, the same ice‑blue as Ge Lei Xiu's hair, its edges extremely bright, with an even brighter white core line.

When the beam erupted, it emitted a classic low hum, a sound that inexplicably flashed a slew of unfamiliar terms—Force, Jedi, Light Sword—through Ying's mind, though she had no idea where they came from!

Ge Lei Xiu held the Light Sword with one hand, the blue beam humming steadily in her grasp, casting a faint blue halo over her entire face.

She blinked, her tone still calm, "I carry it on me."

A flying serpent burst from beneath the cube's edge, lunging straight at Ge Lei Xiu's back.

Ying was about to swing her dagger when Ge Lei Xiu turned sharply, the Light Sword tracing a smooth blue arc in the air.

The blade sliced through the snake's head, passing effortlessly through its entire body and emerging from the tail tip.

The sliced snake body split in half in the air, the cut surfaces scorched black by the Light Sword's heat, and then the whole snake began to disintegrate from the fracture, green data fragments drifting outward like ash scattered by the wind.

Ge Lei Xiu sheathed the Light Sword, which returned to her front, its tip pointing upward.

Her stance remained that demure, quiet maiden posture, white silk feet together, the other hand naturally hanging at her side, the golden belt accessory swaying gently.

The expression on her face was still that clear Calm.

"Ying sister," she said, "this is very useful."

Ying's hand holding the Foot-long dagger paused in midair for a beat.

She looked at the Light Sword in Ge Lei Xiu's hand; the beam was still humming, steady in Ge Lei Xiu's grip as if holding a paintbrush.

She glanced again at the pile of dissipating green data residue at Ge Lei Xiu's feet, then inhaled deeply.

Can.

Although she had no idea where this Light Sword came from, although she had no clue when Ge Lei Xiu learned to wield a Light Sword, although a whole queue of questions lingered in her mind awaiting answers, the fact before her was clear: Ge Lei Xiu was capable of protecting herself.

In a place like this, that is enough.

"Ge Lei Xiu,"

Ying spoke, laying the Foot-long dagger horizontally before her again, pink light threads on the blade spreading from hilt to tip, "Stand to my left."

"Hmm."

Ge Lei Xiu grasped the Light Sword's hilt with both hands, took two steps to the left, and stood behind Ying's left side.

The blue beam drew a horizontal line in the air, its tip aimed at the green shadow rapidly approaching on the sea surface.

On the sea surface, countless green giant serpents had gathered from all directions.

The nearest batch was less than a few dozen meters from the cube's edge; their snake‑like bodies etched dense ripples on the water, dark green data fragments continuously shedding from their surfaces and drifting into the air.

The Creation Engine in the distance spouted another towering water column.

The violet‑black steel giant and the eerie blue massive form fought fiercely amid the spray and shockwaves, each collision causing the entire sea area to tremble.

Ying slightly arched her body, the pink light threads on the Foot-long dagger having reached the tip.

The gray‑purple eyes were as Calm as a pool of dead water.

Ge Lei Xiu stood at her side, the Light Sword's blue beam trembling faintly amid the humming.
